((This takes place after Poison Without the Snow, which is still a work in progress but this was more for character development, just so everyone knows! ))
Katerina: ** Katerina had stayed at his side day and night while he recovered in the healing halls, leaving only to tend her own needs or when ushered away to seek rest herself by the nurses. Her guilt ate away at her slowly everyday at the fact he had almost died because of her. Her own injuries had long healed only her spirit and soul bore the truest and deepest of her wounds. Katerina had cleaned herself up and was once more returning to the room where Georyn recovered.**
Georyn: Georyn had started to recover, but he hated feeling so usless and weak, Why was it he had to be so held back? Stuck in this place that was a prison and he could not get up. When he had tried to all the of the healers had rushed around him, warning him to take care because his injury was still healing. He had regained some feeling in his arm, perhaps the healer who had taken out the poison had done a decent job. He did not like feeling like this, or even being so condened to sitting in a bed, but he would have to live with it. Oceanic hues opened after a time of rest and he saw her there. There was only a smile for her, why did she look so sad? "I am the one that is injured and you look more worse for wear than I do." He spoke, his voice in English but still that heavy accent of french. It was a gift and a curse he would perhaps never loose.
Katerina: ** Her face was pale and she was a bit thinner perhaps but she had stayed with him as he had with ehr in the woods. he could have saved himself but instead risked his very life to see her safe and out of harms way. She was lost in those deep thoughts when his voice broke her free , she looked at him and upon seeing that smile that was so rare she smiled softly back at him though it never reached her haunted eyes. " I know you were the one injured Georyn and for that I cannot thank you enough or beg God to forgive me for my part." her words were soft and barely a whisper. She poured some watered down wine into a glass and handed it to him " The nurses said you are to drink this ... it will with the pain." **
Georyn: Georyn could only laugh a little, because the laughing had stopped because it hurt a little when he had. He was being told to tae things easy, but it was not something he was good at. Georyn was known for being active, he had been on the run for so long he hadn't taken the time to even stop or pause to think. He was so worried that he was going to get caught he did not want to put anyone in danger. "It is alright Katerina. As long as you are safe." He stated, shifting in bed so he could sit up more easily and talk to her. "I would never forgive myself if something bad happened to you. So no tears. I will heal." He took what she had handed to him and sipped it, before putting it back down next to him. "Come now, I am alright. You however look worse than I do."
Katerina: ** His short laugh made her feel warm inside, but it did not change that it was her fault he was here healing. She inhaled a long deep breath and met his gaze, he was doing his best to reassure her but guilt was a powerful thing once it took hold and it had... firmly deep within her. Katerina reached out and gently took his unijured hand within her small ones, she could no more stop her tears than to cease breathing. " I know you will heal my dear sweet friend, but you would not have to if not for me." She could not look him in the eye for fear she would see that he blamed her as she was blaming herself. " With my parents dead you are all I have left in this world... my Georyn if I had lost you as well......." her words trailed off. Her heart felt as though it were being squeezed so great was the pain she felt.**
Georyn: Georyn watched her strangely. Why did she feel so bound to his own fate? She was not the one who had stabbed the dagger into his arm, she was not the one who had caused any of this. "It is not your fault, Katerina. All that matters is that I am alive and you are safe, hmm?" He tried his best to reassure her, squeezing her hand once she had taken his. He leaned over to kiss her forehead, a sign of affection if anything before he looked at her again. "I was spared but it was not a fate I had wanted, nor would I have you blame yourself for something that is not of your doing. I am a murderer Katerina, I was only spared because there is further punishment awaiting me yet." He stated, but he would not have her feel guilty over something that was not her fault. It wasn't.
Katerina: ** Katerina felt bound to him in ways he would never know... from that first brief kiss many years ago.He had a special place in her heart... always had it seemed, but she had never thought to explore what he really meant to her. Not until he had nearly died... she cared for him.. yes, but it was more, and that she would keep to herself. Now she met his gaze and held it " It is my fault Georyn... you almost died because of me... I prayed day and night that God would spare your life and bring you back to m..." she had almost said me and quickly corrected herself " To let you live." his gentle squeeze of her hand mad her chuckles softly " Ahhh my brave Georyn always looking to spare me feelings, but know this as long as I breath I will find away to see that no punishment comes to you... I know you did not mean to kill that man....and NEVER say those words again. You are no such thing... not to me." her words though soft carried the full of her emotions. " I am going to speak to the Duke in a few days... and plead your case to him. I will vouch for your honor and integrity and use all in my power to to see this end for you. I owe you that much." she kissed his cheek as if to seal her words.**
Georyn: Georyn grumbled something incoherently. He did not see why she saw his injuries as her fault. He was protecting her as best as he could have and she was safe, that was what mattered. No horrible ends had come to her when those men had kidnapped her and he had seen to that. He turned away from her, ever so closed off again and let go of her hand as he listened to her talk. "I do not need you to speak on my behalf." He stated, he was a man that didn't need to be redeemed, judgment was left by God and he knew God did not look upon murderers in that same plight. "You do not know the whole story Katerina. You only know part. I have many secrets from you. You are safe, that is what matters and whether or not you plead my case makes no difference. I am a wanted man, a price on my head and there is no way to pull it off me. Leave judgments to God, it is not in our hands." He finished, she was his friend yes and she was trying to help him but he didn't want her to pay for his sins. He would do that on his own. "You do not need to carry my own sins. Only I can do that."
Katerina: ** When he let go of her hand she felt the loss of his warmth and knew him well enough to know he was once more shutting her out." I know you do not need me to speak, I want to Georyn. If I only know part then tell me all of it... you can trust me. I have never once betrayed you and would not start now." she was being honest with him and hoped he knew it.When he had come to Baldregan she had told no one not even her father that he had been there. " I am not trying to carry whatever sins you think you have, I just want to help you as you have done for me. They would have killed me or worse if not for you Georyn." something within her twisted a new feeling she did not recognize. She could see his regret and guilt in his eyes at what he had done, when what she really wanted to see was his smile... so sweet and fleeting and yet it warmed her like nothing in thisworld did. She rose from the chair she was sitting in and sat on the bed next to him, so close not even a hair would fit between and rested her head on is shoulder.... needing to be close to him for she felt so alone and he was all she had now. She prayed he would not move away or push her away, she was as low as one could get and still be alive.**
Georyn: Georyn did not want any help. Why did she want to help him? Because she was his friend and would do anything for him. She was so pure and radiant, he did not want to taint her with the sins of his past. Yes he did regret what he had done, he closed his eyes and he could still see the man he had killed. Accident or not, he did not believe it to be so. He had commited a murder and did not need to be forgiven. Georyn had already settled on paying the debt the rest of his life. He would still continue to pay even until the end of this days, so long as he had them. He was too deserving of her kindness, he did not deserve it at all. "You are too kind Katerina, more than I deserve." He did not mean to shut her out, but he did. He did not like being like this and flaw or not. He stiffened slightly when she had sat on the bed next to him and rested against him, mostly because of course she was his friend and had not had this kind of aspect with him. Georyn had been around plenty of women, but had never truly been intimate with one because of how he had acted. He was too busy with his head in books to pay them any mind. He wrapped his good arm around her, what he could and shifted slightly to get more comfortable as he kissed her head against her hair. "Come, will you nap with me? I am weary, and I do think you could use the rest." He stated, knowing she could hear his breathing. He did not want her to be weary any more, hopefully peace could find them both.
Katerina: ** Katerina did not feel pure and radiant right now she felt as if she carried the weight of the world on her slander shoulders. When he put his arm around her she felt safe for the first time in a long time and her heart fluttered once more. It was a bold move on her part to lie next to him as she was, tears streaming down her cheeks She felt small, alone and lost... and all she had to anchor her to this life was him...now that her parents were dead. Once more he had kissed her and she felt its warmth to her very soul. " Aye, Georyn de Lorme I will nap with you... it will do us both some good perhaps." she said softly against his chest as she yawned softly more tired that she had realized. She nestled close to him and closed her eyes...listening to him breathe and the sound of his heart beating. Sleep claimed her quickly and perhaps... just perhaps she would have a peaceful sleep this night.**
