Nicholas: Another kiss was placed atop her head as they walked in unison towards the stairs but Shaden knew better then to think she would be walking up to the third floor. Once they reached the wind staircase, he paused and dipped to grasp below her knees as his other arm wrapped around her backside. "Truly? Without me..its I who am completely dependant on you..my lady.."He returned in a coo as he carried her up the flight of stairs. He allowed no strain of discomfort to show on his face in carrying her up the stairs all the way to the third floor, he in fact, nuzzled her cheek, her neck, whispering words of love and devotion against her ear. How he had missed her today, how he has missed joy, how he could not wait to meet her, and that all he fought for now was a healthy and safe delivery of her baby and just to spend time with her, how he trained as hard as he ever trained in his life, so he could come home to her. There was no doubts in the old knights mind to where his heart truly lied. He had made no secrets of it...well not know. He had fought it and lost. She was just so dynamic, he could not help it. Nor could he help jealous as other men seemed to notice the same glow, not that they knew her like he did. Like he hoped he did. Yet they had never hidden anything from one another, open, honest, caring. It was just who they were. Balancing her within his arms, he gave a toe kick against the door and carried her inside. He would not even set her down once inside, instead holding her still while he toes the door to a close, waiting till it clicked into the frame before carrying her towards the bed and finally setting her down only to move to sit by her feet and remove her slippers. Each foot was lifted and kissed before he moved to collect the jar of mint cream Avery had brought for his aching body parts. Some of the white cream was scooped into his hand before he went to work massaging her feet and swollen ankles. "Now tell me, my sweet lady, my love. How did your doctors visit go with Avery? What advice did she give you?" Shaden: " She said I should rest and take it easy.. that Joy is doing well... and growing fine.. and that I'm not as big as most women get it's just because my frame is small I appear to be a whale " she wiggled her toes as he massaged softly... " Nicholas really you don't' have to .." she sighed enjoying it thoroughly though... leaning back on pillows and relaxing until he was finished... " I asked her.. if it..was... still ok.. I mean with the baby being so... much of me ... now.. if we.. still made love... " she blushed as she watched him finish up.. holding out her hand for the jar of cream.. " Take your shirt off and let me.. rub you down.. now " she enjoyed massaging him.. it had become their nightly routine since he had begun training... once he had stripped his shirt and presented his back to her.. delicate hand would warm the cream between her palms before applying it to his skin.. working out the soreness from his muscles from hours of training . From behind him she continued her recounting of the healers visit.. " She said it was perfectly fine unless there was discomfort.. but..that we should not get to.. enthusitic.. and recommended side by side.. or.. on my hands and knees.. instead of you on top.." finger teased around his middle playfully before she moved her hands back up to his shoulders... to deep massage the ache there...
Nicholas: "Your not a whale.."He smiled at her, lifting her foot to place a kiss against her toes before working more of the cream into her feet and ankles even as she protested and the grin said it all, he liked pampering her. He listened with a nod of his head here and there to let her know he was hearing each word she spoke though his eyes rose to her as she spoke of asking if it was ok if they still made love and the blush made him chuckle, a deep baritone sound as he handed over the cream, off came the shirt which was tossed carelessly to the floor and he turned to allow her to work the cream into his skin with a sigh. Now that..made it ache less. "Not enthusiastic...that will be quite difficult but I have no wish to hurt Joy..if you would...rather not..till after the baby is born. Shaden.."His hand moved up to capture hers at his shoulders and he squeezed"I would be content in holding you.."How long had it been since he had been in his own rooms? Gods above he didn't even know. Perhaps he had taken to much of a liberty by staying with her night after night but he honestly hadn't thought that he was invading her space. He released her hand and let out a laugh as she teased his sides only to return to his shoulders. He let them roll beneath her fingertips, letting out a low sigh as bones cracked in response, easing the tension before he was moving, away from her, only to turn and collect the jar and wiggle in behind her. "Let me do your back now.."The jar was set upon his thigh as he worked the buttons of her dress open and wiggled the shoulders down over her arms. The laces of her maternal corset loosened and wiggled up and off her body and plopped down on the floor before he was scooping some of the cream into his hand, he worked his glove off with his teeth and spit it down to his leg before the cream was rubbed into his palm and finally massaged into her back. "I have to spend the night at barracks tomorrow, I have the morning to spend here then a visit to Avery of my own in the early afternoon and then the barracks after..some of those men...well boys actually, haven't had a lick of sword training. Need all the help they can get, I'm bringing Atlas for some horseback training too. He needs the exercise as well, magnificent animal, probably restless from being cooped up this whole time." He leaned forward to place a kiss against her neck before massaging the cream up to her shoulders.
Shaden: "Nicholas Stryker !" she scolded playfully nipping his ear as she finshied his back " Do you honestly think I only make love to you for your benefit.. I have my needs as well " she chuckled kissing softly over his neck.. with a soft purr... " I do not wish you to stop making love to me.." now she curled about him kissing his lips softly " I love it too much to be denied " it was true.. she relished their nights together... nothing in the world made her feel more cherished and loved.. at peace... than being in his arms.. the time would come soon enough that the pregnancy prevented such intimate release.. but for now.. they were fine.. Slowly she was turned and her gown and corset tossed aside.. her body relaxing under his wondrous touch.. until when he said he would be away. she stiffened a bit.. almost wanting to whine.. couldn't' he just come home after training.. but she was intelligent enough to know that after such a hard day he would need rest.. and the time it took to come back here would prevent some of that... " What kind of appointment with Avery " she turned her face alarmed.. " Is something wrong.. are you hurt.. ill ? how quickly she went from completely soothed and relaxed to a jumble of nerves.. at the mere thought of him needing a healer.
Nicholas: He let out a chuckle as she nipped at ear, scolding him like he knew she would. He was not saying a man only needed release. He had simply been...trying to coddle her. He didn't want her to feel obligated to fulfill his needs when he had them and she didn't. He cupped her close, as close as he could get her when she kissed him and he let out a deep moan. Now this was worth coming home for! "I would never deny you my lady. Your wish is but my command.." He felt her body stiffen as he worked the cream over her backside and wound his arms around her to kiss at her neck softly, she could protest and he would give in but she did not..and so it was left at that. His grip loosened as she turned in alarm and he chuckled, wrapping her up once more into his arms, messing her breasts against his chest as his hands stroked at her backside. "Just a check up...make sure I am fit for battle and that my sight is still well..I still get blotches of gray over my eyes at time but a few blinks and it goes away, I want to discuss that with her to..no worries my love.."His arms loosened and he lifted them, forcing his fingers to open as they curled inward on his right hand and smoothed the hair away from her face again before cupping her cheeks within his hands."Shaden..."He whispered softly before lowering his lips to take in hers in a gentle kiss before he let out a sigh against them as he breathed "I love you so much.."

Shaden: The day had been impossible, it seemed as if nothing would go right, Ealora Maahes Ra and Eppie had left the Lily, going to the townhouse that morning, Shaden hadn't the heart to see them off, instead standing in the frame of the window watching the Happy Little Family head to the stables, and then out of sight, was it her imagination or did Ealora look back longingly at the Lily, of course the early dawn sun would shine directly on the east facing windows, there was no way Ealora could have know.. She was watching, but it was somthing about the look on Ealora's face, something.. that said there was something left behind that sent a shiver up Shaden's spine, how could she have known how that look would soon tear her world apart. Her heart grieved for the infant that Ealora took with her, she had come to love Ra, and Eppie both as if they were her own in the weeks Ealora had been presumed dead... now.. it was if a part of her had been ripped asunder, one more loss, one more peice of her heart shattered and taken away , how much could one woman bear in a lifetime, perhaps it was a testement to the inner strength that resided within the copper haired temptress.. perhaps it was only punishment for a life that was not supposed to be.. the fate of a fatherless child, and aberations.. that was sold off as a commodity to strangers... to better a family's life that held her accountable for the fates that befell them... she was a curse... or so they had claimed.. to sooth their souls. Glacial green hues closed against the new onslaught of pain that welled within her as the Aziem Family disappeared into the morning mist. She turned looking at the sleeping boy in the room and smiled.... if it were not for her love for Little Issac, and Nicholas.. she doubted she would have had the strenght of the courage to go on in the face of such debilitating pain. So it was most of the rest of the day followed in misery's suit, A small fire in the kitchens, led to water and soot damages, as crying maids and cooks made twice as much drama as needed, Courtesans fought over petty minor things, causeing squabbles to erupt into catfights that had to be quelled, a shipment of liqour was stolen by english soldiers, and One of her Courtesans was leaving, to be engaged to a Grand Lord of Struan which ment more paperwork and accounting than she intended to do for a lifetime. Thus was the day of the Lady Aramoire... and now that night had fallen, it found her in the small library that served as her office.. spectals of a wire rimmed varity perched on her nose, as she grumbled and cursed beneath her breath as a coulum of figures refused to balance..
Nicholas: He would not be there for the day gone wrong. Nothing falling into place. As he was now or soon to be a Captain in the Griffin Army, he had more training in which to do. Proof persay to the young bucks who might have doubts to his ability to fight. The truth was, the position was unjustified in his eyes, though he would never see himself doing enough to earn a position other then just another soldier in the army but it would be denying his heart, as old as it was to say the position was not in some way wanted, accepted. He could protest retirement for as long as he lived and yet if the position was open, he would take it. An old dog never learned new tricks, never learned to stay away from old tricks either. He could only hope...and pray this choice to serve the army would not bring him more heartache as it had in the past. Returning as the sun died upon the hills casting the island in the erie pause of night, he learned from Gerda the days happenings. It would be a lie to say he had not grown accustomed to the threesome followed shortly by a foursome when Ealora returned. To say he was surprised each time the General climbed into their bed naked because Ra needed feeding was an understatement but he had grown used to the overgrown bull of a man being at the Lily and silent little Eppie and fussy little Ra...He had trained all day, mud and dirt stained, he knew he could go into Shaden's library, her retreat and disrupt her, kiss her silly and she would not object to dirt but another plan came to mind and he left her to work for another hour while he bathed and changed out of his training gear, took long enough to kiss the sleeping Issac head before heading into the office. Without even a hello he swept across the room and plucked the balance column from her hand. "Leave that..." He growled low as he pulled her tightly to him by her waist and planted a sound and passionate kiss against her lips. How was that for turning the day around?! He kissed her till he was breathless and needing air and even then he did not pull his lips away from her own. "How's about you run away with me tonight hmm?" Lids which had slid closed over silvery blue eyes lifted to look her in the face as he finally pulled back from her lips.
Shaden: The Ledger plucked, she opened her mouth to decry its sudden dissipearance , but instead was silenced by both the hardness of his body, now pressed ardently against hers as she was hauled up from her chair, to be captured against his chest, and then the sweet sudden passionate assault of lips, that claimed her utterly, suddenly the days woes seemed to pale, fade and whisk away on the soft breaths and moans that passed between the lovers, her hands lifting to twine about his neck, fingers curling into the dark, now slightly longer hair at the nape of his neck as he was pulled closer, ever closer.. to her. He was her liferaft, upon a sea where she was adrift, and floundering , a sea of heartache and pain, where he was the point in the sky to fix upon to find the shores saftly and now be bashed upon the rocks of impending doom. It was he who guided her to the harbor of his arms and love, sheltering her from the storms of life, and the self wrought storms of her mind. that plagued her with self doubt and guilt.. He was all these things and more... and it was now.. the silver lining like a soft breeze stirred and left by the passing storm, where the light shown down upon the glory of the promise of calm... that dark lashes fluttered upward to meet his gaze.. a soft smile upon full ripe lips.. " After today's events I am inclined to say yes" a self condemning chuckle and then she looked down... " Ever have one of those days where you just want to crawl back in bed and wish it away?"
Nicholas:His arms moved down her back, a calm soothing gesture until his fingers laced at the small of her back, drawing her as near as he could. How it ached to have that bump of her stomach missing, to know Joy was no longer growing safely there. How he longed to see her belly swell with life once more. Her gentle moans set his body to flame and had he not had it in his head how this night would go, he would of swept her ledgers to the floor, papers be damned and have her right there. Take her body and soul to new heights. Wash away all the wrongs of the day in blissful union. Slowly he began to rock from side to side, dancing her in place as she let out a hum of a sigh"I heard...and yes I have..on more then one occasion but not so much now that I have you within my life. I have a surprise...or proposal, if your not one for surprises tonight...I can tell you of my plan, or just show you...but you must promise me you will not have a fit..."His head lowered as he spoke and he brushed his nose against her own as his hand traced lazy circles around her back. "Which way will you have it, my love?"
Shaden: "A proposal that you are worried I will have a fit about?" her brows drew together, then one arched disapprovingly, " You know after that I cannot possible promise I will not have a fit, what are you up to and if it involves you going off for more nights of training I will throw a fit, I need you here more now than ever, More than you are needed at the training halls... " already a pout was forming on her lips as she tried wiggling away, " Please tell me that is not your surprise, Nicholas.. I cannot bear it, now that Ealora and Maahes have taken the baby home.." she pulled back slightly and turned her head ashamed of admitting how, crushed she was, at loosing the bond with the infant no matter how her brain insisted it was right, her heart.. well.. it could not help falling in love with the little boy child... she nursed as her own... a delicate small hand fluttered up to run thru her copper curls.. frustrated and exasperated with herself, and her damnable heart these days.
Nicholas:"You honestly think I would surprise you with more training.."He could not help but let out a laugh and as she wiggled to get away from him, he drew her against him again. "Damn it woman, I am trying to be romantic..." He mused before letting out a sigh. "Shaden, please do not think I am trying to think less of your heart, as much as it pains you, I was quite used to having through around too but he is where he should be...with his parents. The important thing is you kept him alive, you were set to be the head of the household with Ealora gone..you filled that role perfectly and you will once again..we have each other and we have Issac, we will have other children as well...and we are still connected to your sister and brother in law and your niece and nephew, he is not dead Shaden...just where he should be. Let that comfort your heart, even if it still aches.."He caught her hand as she ran it through her hair and brought it down to his chest before releasing it to capture her face and turn it in his direction again. "Come away with me tonight my love, my princess...forget about the Lily, forget about the baby and your sister and her husband...I've asked Gerda to look over the house and the girls.." Shifting, he lifted her up into his arms. "Damn telling you my surprise now, I am just going to have to show you....now close your eyes and don't open them till I tell you too.." and with that he carried her from the room and from the house. Where was the old knight headed? She would just have to find out for it seemed like the pair...well he walked with her in his arms for a while, in truth he was avoiding all possible human contact until finally he climbed the steps of the church and set her on her feet near the door. "Ok now...open your eyes.."
Shaden: Dutifully she had closed her eyes, swept up in his arms, sometimes she wondered if he would carry her about even in old age, when they were both grey! No Matter she loved it anyway, felt safe secure and loved in his arms, as he carried her thru the streets, her eyes close and face nuzzling into his neck lovingly, almost teasingly every now and again, though with them it took little to make passion flare, it was usually a slow blazing fire, that was not hurried or rushed and blazed for hours even days at a time. Though in the time it took the short walk toward the Church where Father Longaghan presided and their daughter was buried, she did reflect on his words about Ra, and their extended family, deep in her heart she knew Ra was where he belonged as was Ealora now she was back.. but there was still and ache.. there... not to mention her breast that were now bound tightly to quell the production of milk that Ra no longer needed from her... stevia plant leaves had been steeped into a bittersweet tea that would also aid in the drying up of her mothers milk, but for the next few days or so, she would bare a painful reminder of the loss of both Joy and Ra.. Finally she was settled to her feet, and her eyes fluttered open to look in confusion at the Church... for a moment " You want to go to Mass?" she queried, smoothing her skirts, downward to avoid wrinkles.
Nicholas:He would carry her when they were both old and gray, perhaps him sooner then she but until his arms and legs no longer worked he would carry her. It was not a manly display of power, it was a display of love for him, to carry her in the weight of his arms, to cradle her against pain, to wrap her in a shell of only love and devotion. His arms curled about her waist as she looked from the church to him in confusion and again he could not help but let out a laugh. "No...not mass..come.." His fingers tightened around her waist as he pulled the heavy door open and gently nudged her inside before following a step behind her. "I've sent word to Father Longaghan before I came to collect you...he will marry us tonight...if you will have me.." He whispered within her ear as his arm tightened about her waist.."And then, I have a room secured at the Briar Rose...the...honeymoon suite so to speak and Rose's word that none of our presence will have been noticed. I asked you to come away with me tonight..I meant it..."
Shaden: SHe ahd taken but a few steps inside the church when his head lowered to her ear, whispering his plans, stopping dead in her tracks she turned to look at him with that look that plainly asked... 'are you crazy?' she looked side as if serching for a way out, her mouth agape with surpise as he continued... " Nicholas.. I can... not tonight.. I mean... " her hands fluttered down to the dress she wore.. then eyes lifted with his " It's a nice dress but no wedding gown and as I plan for you to be the only man I ever Marry I wanted to.. be perfect for you " that was the only thing stopping her.. that she was not perfect for him, and the complete panic was over the dress not the actual marriage, or him or even them, that, was already settled in her mind weeks ago.. but the dress.. now that was a different matter all together.. " I'm a mess.. " her hand fluttered up to her hair with a soft groan.. " I've been working all day, I should be radiant and fresh when we marry not.. drab and tired " she was really upset that she was not her ideal of a bride at this moment.. in classic Shaden Fashion , she had an image in her head of their wedding and a green muslin day gown no matter how exquisitely made was not it... nor was her hair in a riot of loose curls, it should have been upswept like a princess, and her gown, well not white but some sublte shade of it.. this of course was all her thoughts, but truth be told she was quite ravishing, beautiful in the soft green gowns that was almost the color of her eyes, with the now shoulder length copper curls loose and flowing about her face, perhaps not perfect to her, but Nicholas might have a different veiw " I should have already picked out a gown, Nicholas I'm so sorry , this is so beautiful and wonderful, I'm such an idiot, I've been so wrapped up in everything else, I didn't think to plan for this ..." little sparkling tears begin to shimmer in her eyes, as she reached for him " I'm so sorry.. I've neglected this ... us lately forgive me "
Nicholas: A grin curled on his lips. Yes he was quite mad and he would of said it but for not the page standing off to the side. No reason to give the lad cause to refuse them access to the Father. "Shaden, even if you had dirt smudges on your face and holes in your gown and twigs in your hair, I would still want to marry you right here and right now. You are never more beautiful then when you are real and true...I know you like to be dressed up and look your best but I...truly love it when you are real..like this..." His hands moved to cup her face between his hands, lifting her face to look at him. "You look beautiful now and I will remember this day not as fancy gowns...but when two hearts, united as they should." His thumbs stroked away the tears as he kissed her forehead as his arms wrapped around her. "Now...if you truly feel the need...go with this page here, you see...he has a surprise for you, from me..I will speak with Father Longaghan and by the time you come out...we will either be married or go home, it will be your choice." He brushed her chin up as he leaned to capture hers for a split second before he released her to follow after the boy, his hands behind his back with a small grin. It had been difficult as hell to get her measurements unaware but Gerda had helped pick out the fabric and with the dress maker Shaden had visit weeks ago to again tailor her clothes, he had easily commissioned them for a special order unaware to the lady of the house. The room the boy lead her to housed a vanity with a brush and some pins jeweled with soft pearls so she could do her hair, and upon a mannequin within the room, was the champagne colored gown with embroidered flowers and leaves. He could only pray she liked it...knowing well she had much on her mind, much to do and the details of their wedding fell to the wayside, it was not upsetting, he merely picked it up without her knowing. He could only pray she did not get upset. Turning as she disappeared into the room, he went to seek out the Father and get a last minute confession in.
Shaden: The tears spilled over as he cupped her cheeks, but not of sadness... of sweet joy and abiding love at his words, she took a deep breath, grasping one of his hands in hers and pressing it to her heart, inside it fluttered wildly like a wild bird caged and wanting release, into waiting caring hands.. " Nicholas.." his name was like a prayer as he expounded on the whys and how's of his love fore her, the softening of her face, the depthing of the hue of her eyes told him all he needed to know in one sweet glance, her heart had received him completely " I will marry you in this dress and in a mess if you wish Nicholas..." she whispered standing on tiptoe to press a soft kiss to his lips then rocking back as he spoke of surprises.. she smiled teasing her thumb across his lip... " You spoil me.. I love you... so very much " it was a long drawn out moment of gazes and hearts meeting before she dropped her hand from his... and followed the page.. to the small room where she was to get ready for her wedding.. it was like a dream, and a same said dreamy smile was painted across her face with loving ease.. as she admired the gown, no doubt with some of Gerda's help.. the two of them must have been planing for weeks, the dress was slipped from the mannequin and she smiled once more, Rose Marie, her favorite seamstress, she would have known those delicate stitches anywhere. Nicholas seemed to have though of everything... and while at once swept off her feet at his romantic and loving gestures she felt a bit guilty that she had been so preoccupied with her sisters family that she had... neglected her own.. standing before the mirror in her wedding gown, now completely ready for him, she vowed she would concentrate from this day forward on Nicholas, Issac, and the children that would come.. soon.. hopefully. It seemed almost a turning point , as she pinched her cheeks and smiled at the reflection in the mirror... perfect just as she had wished... Nicholas seemed to be... her dream maker.. the one who always.. was there.. her love... so it was fitting she marry him... both for the love they bore each other and the completion felt in each other... it was as if it was fated... as she stood gazing at herself in the mirror... there was a little voice inside her head that tried to quell her joy... " your not good enough for him, once a whore always a whore... you'll be the death of him... your nothing.. but evil " the voice resounded in her skull until she turned violently flinging a cruxifix into the mirror, shattering the voice and the image.. before her... then turning to leave the room as if nothing had happened.. just what was Nicholas getting himself into?
Nicholas:His confession did not need to go on long. Merely a time to remove himself from guilt at Ealora death, since the woman was no longer dead and let the father know of his dying love and devotion to the woman he was about to marry. As Shaden readied, he confessed then stood talking with the Father until she appeared. Turning to the side, a grin appeared on the old knights face as he offered a hand out to her. "You look radiant, where-ever did you find a gown like that.."He teased with silvery blue eyes twinling with mirth. Honestly it was the first time in weeks the old knight had been able to joke. Taking her hand into his own, he brought it to his lips, brushing a kiss against her knees before he lead her up the final steps to the two pillows laid out next to each other and slowly dipped to his knees. As Father Longaghan began a simple prayer before the vows, he crossed himself. In the name of the father, the son and the holy ghost and his fingers touched at his head, his chest, one shoulder and then the next."You are beautiful....radiant...and I will love you my whole life and no other..."As the fathers voice droned the familiar prayer of well wishing for couples entering into marriage, his head turned to look at her as he whispered the words.
Shaden: " I have no clue, it just appeared as if by Magic " she countered a sweet loving smile upon her lips, eyes all aglow with love and adoration of the man before her... as she took his hand, smiling up at the father as she came to his side, her hands kisses softly before she was led upward to the twin pillows.. where they both sank before the father for his blessings...on their union, both heads bowed penitently as the words seemed to reverberate in the empty cathedral, only father Lonoghan, and a few alterboys as witnesses, along with the flicker of candlelight, that cast them both in soft golden glow... both of them crossed themselves and uttered amen, as her head turned to meet his gaze.. " You are everything to me Nicholas... my sun my moon, the stars, the very heavens in which they hang.. " her hand lifted to sweep a caress across his cheek... " I would love you and only you until the end of my days... " softly her thumb caressed over the laughlines at his eyes.. as the Father chuckled and cleared his throat soflty... " Whenever you two are ready... for me to begin " She blushed soflty and nodded turning back to look at the father as they now stood before him... as the ceramony begin.. words of truth, love, and vows of forever not only to one another but to god were taken.. soleom vows, for eternity between man and woman that none should break asunder.. and when all the words and prayers had been said... the moment came... " Now with these rings.. pleadge your troth and lives to one another... " her eyes widened in shock.. rigns... rings.. oh good lord... she didn't have a ring for him... ! Panic again flooded her face... as it flushed deep red.. and dark... eyes sweeping to him, almost praying for his foresight in this matter as well.
Nicholas:The laughlines around his eyes only seemed to grow along with the grin across his lips as she spoke and he captured her hand briefly, placing a kiss against her palm before releasing her hand and nodding his head to the father as they stood before him to recite their vows before God and the church. When the part came for rings, Shaden's face flushed all over again and Nic only grinned. Reaching into the breast pocket of his jacket, he estracted two golden rings. Simple but with purpose. He would explain later the simpleness of the rings but for now, he handed over his ring to her and kept the one for her, pressing into his palm as he clamped his glove between his teeth and wiggled it off his hand and spit the glove to the floor, he would get it in a minute. Forcing his fingers straight, he took her hand into his own and slowly slid the ring onto her finger. "My love for you and only you...with this ring, I thee wed.."His eyes rose to meet hers as the ring met the end of her finger and he mouthed I love you.
Shaden: Her fingers shook as she took the ring, his hand grasping her left.. and sliding the ring back to the knuckle as he vowed his love for her and only her.. and took her as his wife.., trembling she lifted both his hands to her lips placing a long lingering kiss to each... before holding tightly onto the left one... repeating.. the words that would bind them forever ' With this ring..... I thee wed..." glacial hues fastened on his finger as she slipped the ring past his knuckle.. settling it in place.. it was then she realizes as she breathed she had been holding her breath.. waiting for whatever disaster would befall them to do so.. and it was with both wonder and amazement she looked up at him.. and realized... as the father intoned... " Then by the power vested in me by the Holy Church and God on High, you are man and wife... you may kiss your bride.. " they were married.. and lightening had not stuck them down, no fire raged in inferno.. no natural disaster... just joy and peace.. complete and utter happiness... " I love you Nicholas... " she whispered as she leaned toward him to be kissed.. for the first time.. as his wife.
Nicholas:He inhaled a deep breath and then released it as he finished sliding the ring onto her finger. A small hum of a laugh passed his lips as he gave her a knowing look, that it was all most over but she could still back out if she wanted to. It was a teasing grin of course, he didn't expect her to back out. His grin spread as she kissed his hands before sliding the ring onto his finger, uttering the same words as he had only seconds ago. Another laugh left his lips, the look on her face was just priceless. She expected some great torture and it did not come, first fear and then elation and happiness filled her face and he marveled in it. "Thank you Father.."His head turned briefly to the man before turning back to Shaden as his arms wrapped around her and lifted her from the ground. "I love you Shaden.." He whispered against her lips before capturing them completely with his own. He lingered long enough for Shaden to say her thank yous and to instruct Shaden's dress to be brought to the Briar before he was sweeping his Bride into his arms as he had once carried her there and carried her to the Briar Rose himself. The best room had been reserved only an hour or so before but had been prepared while they married. A bucket of champagne sat chilling, a plate of fresh cut strawberries and a bowl of cream. Roses within vases sat about the room and petals covered the bedwhile a new silken gown and matching robe lay over the changing skin so she could get comfortable. Thankfully the late hour meant the Briar was deserted so none saw the old knight carrying his bride through the tables and up the stairs to the waiting room. "I have one more gift for you..." He whispered against her ear as he carried her through the threshold of the door and kicked the door closed. Slowly he set her upon her feet and moved to the nightstand where a black velvet box rested. Turning to her, he held the box out to her and grinned. "After this I promise, no more surprises for tonight.."
Shaden: It seemed as if fate allowed the Courtesan and the Knight their marriage, for no earthquake or villainous horsemen, lightening of other kind of disaster befell them, and once again ensconced in his arms, it was a matter of negotiating the streets while locked in a kiss that seemed to go forward into etertinity. It was a good thing the knight had such a well honed sense of direction, for there were several times when the very earth stood still, and all sense of time and space were lost in those moments of endless love displayed between the newlyweds..soon enough though or not soon enough depending on your view, they were finally alone.. inside the rented room.. the door clicked into place locked from within to keep away those who would disturb, as he gifted her once more " Nicholas.. you shouldn't have.. you've done so much already... and I've already failed you as a wife, not being prepared to marry... " she took the box and held it for a long moment.. " I love you with or without your surprises.. you do know this..?" she didn't want him to think she only loved him for the gifts and love he lavished on her, for indeed there was so much more... to the depths of her feelings for him... " My heart would have known you.. if pauper or prince... it would have led me to you... in the darkenst of night.. for you are the light... of my life.. " she whispered leaning into him to kiss him softly.. before she opened the box.
Nicholas: Lord the woman was going to be the death of them, locked into a kiss that seemed endless, he hardly knew how they got into the room until their lips broke and he moved to collect the box and hand it to her. His arms moved about her waist as she held the box and a grin curled at his lips. "I will never do enough, just so you know...you have not failed me as a wife. No wife of mine, will be stuck under my thumb..you will be independent, your own woman and with things to do. I, as your husband, promise to do all I can to take as much burden from your shoulders as need be...this was one of them. I love you Shaden, for the woman you are, not the woman people expect you to be and again, I do not expect my wife to only cook and clean..." His hand lifted to capture her chin as he kissed her lips as she offered the kiss to him. "Fate has brought us together, my Queen..and I will let nothing part us, I swear it.." He released her only by one arm and settled back a step with a hand still around her waist as she opened the box. Inside was a beautifully crafted locket, round with the design of a flower. Reaching in, he took the locket from its resting place as he spoke. "I know you can not wear your ring past tonight...for all to see, we can not appear married...not until the time is right, so this..." He pushed the flower symbol within the middle, the locket clicked open and with a thumb, he pushed it open, inside it was lined with velvet with a ring shape within. "Your ring...is to go in here...and then kept around your neck, where our hearts truly beat for one another and know the truth..I in turn will wear my ring on my other hand beneath my glove...until the time is right.."

Nicholas:The night played on like some silent tune that no one could hear, the days now warmer with the absence of winter, he had taken leave of training for now. He was old for one damn it, he didn't need any more training to break his body, for two, just married even in secret deserved some time off to lavish affection on his wife. Even more so now with the departure of Issac...now known as Issa. The little boy had been a joy in their lives after such terrible tragedy and now...the halls seemed quiet without him running about them. There was no cooing from the ladies as he did or said something to warm their hearts. How was he going to make this right? Really he had no comforting words to speak that would make it any better. Issa is still alive, so that should make it better right? No it didn't. The french doors into the garden were pulled open letting the warm nights air waft into the house, currently, he was debating on what to do, standing in between the doorway and the veranda for the garden, hands upon his hip, as if undecided if he was staying or going but really his mind was working, how to change the mood, specifically Shaden's. It was only a few days into their wedded 'bliss' and all ready they were hit with heartache, this should be their honeymoon, so what could he do to make her smile?
Shaden: For the past few days she had been unnaturally silent, contemplative, and almost secretive.. as she came upon him standing in the doorway it struck her that perhaps she had shut him out somewhat, feeling that even one more ounce of her suffering pain would be too much of a burden on them.. how could he still be so supportive when it seemed as if tragedy were her constant companion? Shouldn't he be scared.. that the curse that befell her might befall him.. her mood the last few days had been tense.. almost harshly cold to all in the household.. she had reached her limit.. felt cloistered and hemmed in the Lily, in Turas Lan in Skye... already she had set into motion her plans to leave but she had not yet broached the subject with Nicholas.. her husband... at the though she realized she had been working under the same rules as before.. as a single woman with no ties... no one to answer too.. but all that had changed with a few words and exchanging of rings... she was his wife... funny how it just now settled in what that meant, it hit her like a stone in the gut.. she had not been acting much like a wife... not a good wife.. and certainly not a loving wife.. too wrapped up in her own grief.. how selfish.. it was that though that changed both the cold look on her face and the way she held her person... a soft whisper from behind him, as her hands clenched nervously before her.. what was this.. a shy bride? wonders never ceased it seemed... " Nicholas...?"
Nicholas:At the sound of her voice he turned, though in truth he could smell her long before she had entered the room. A slow smile worked over his lips as he held his arms open for her, posed in that position for only a moment before he swept her up in his arms, curling his arms about her waist and drawing her in as his lips descended to take in her own in a sweet yet passionate kiss of hello. His hand moved in slow circles against her back as he pulled back from the kiss and lay his forehead against her own. "Hello my dear, how are you feeling?" Dumb question right, he could guess the answer and yet he was asking it out right. Shifting, he pulled her in front of him and wrapped his arms about her from behind as his cheek laid against her own, he slowly began to sway from side to side. "Beautiful night yes? I was just thinking of building a swing out here, one of those bench swings for two...this way we can sit out here on spring and summer nights..." There were no words about her silence or withdrawal, he was her husband but not her keeper. He had told her a million times and would continue to do so, she was her own person, he did not own her, he merely wanted to share his life with her.
Shaden:" A swing would be lovely " she mumered as his arms cradled her, they swayed back and forth.. "Issac... " her voice dropped off.. she had been about to say he had asked for a swing under the oak tree as well.. but stopped.. taking deep breath... " I would like a swing for us..." she amended... nuzzling into his slow sway, cheek to cheek... there were long moments of silence as she just enjoyed the quiet tenderness, and feeling of safety, yet she had to tell him what she planned... " I'm going to the Mainland... on a mission.. as well.. sorta a Ambassador.. to plead with the King to side with Skye. " there it was out.. she stilled waiting for the recourse.. knowing he would like the idea at all, and this would probably spark an old fashion marital spat of mythic proportions.
Nicholas:His hands tightened around her belly as she spoke Issac name. He knew it was going to be a sore subject for some time to come, it would take time right? Everything would take time. "Good, then I will build us one, right under the oak tree like he wanted...so he can swing with you when he visits.." He turned his head to kiss her cheek before laying it against her own again. As she lay her plan out before him, he inhaled in deep slow breath and then released it. "After what he did to you? I understand your need to get away, I understand it very well...but this?" Lids slid closed over silvery blue eyes as his arms loosened from around her then tightened once more. "I'm going with you, I am your Guard..and I am going, no arguments there." He would simply tell the General he wasn't going to any more battles, this was more important, Captain or not, he had a duty to his wife and if Maahes didn't understand that, well hang being a Captain in the Skye Army.
Shaden:"Precisely because of what he did to me.. and the fact that he was Joy's father.. and still may be looking for her... and me... he sent men once.. I knew when I saw Joy that Robert was her father... they shared a birthmark on their inner forearm, right near the crook of the elbow.. I can appeal to his sense of Duty to the Land that his daughter is buried on.. a Land that he is King of but it offering up like a morsal to the English... I can... do this I owe this much to Joy... to try and Make Robert See he... owes Joy a Father.. that she could have been proud of " she stopped as his hands tightened about her middle once more... " If you go , you go as my guard not as my husband he must not know... that I am married..." now would be Nic's time to question just what the hell she was up to.. and how far she was willing to go in this dangerous game.
Nicholas: "Ah, so you knew who Joy's father was.." His cheek shifted as he lay his chin against her shoulder and shifted his weight so he was leaning all of it upon her. He listened quietly, still rocking her until finally he let out a scuff and leaned off of her completely, pulling his arms from about her waist. A gloved hand rose to brush through his hair which had lengthened with time since its last cut. Shifting around her, his hand moved to the scruff of a beard beginning to peek through. "A father...to be proud of?" He let out a snort and shook his head. Yes that was a bit of a blow to the man who had only wanted to watch her grow with ever a fascinated and beloved gaze. To see the little girl take her first steps, talk, love her and nurture her till she was ready to leave them and make a life of her own. "So uh, tell me Shaden, are we going to be married in Italy or say Greece or even if we ever went to England would we be married there? I wanna know where I can freely call you my wife..least past this room right, this home? What's going on that we can not be married in front of that bastard? hmm.." He turned to stare down at her, short little thing that she was. "As your GUARD, I've a right to know the situation your throwing yourself into.."
Shaden: "I didn't know until she was born... and I saw the mark..." she cringed as his agitation grew... " Nicholas I didn't mean to upset you... I consider you her real father... the one who would have raised her into adulthood and been there day in and out.. the one whom she would have called daddy " she flinched as his tone changed she took a step back and regarded him with the stubborn look, you know the one, arched eyebrows, the tilt of the head, squaring of shoulders that meant she was set for battle.. her brow drew together as he expounding on the secrecy of their marriage " You said you understood the need for secrecy for now.. and You said... you were fine with it.." she growled.. her lips closing in a thin set line... " You knew I worked as a spy, and a courtesan when you married me. the look on your face says it all Nicholas... really... I though you knew me better... Do you think I would willingly BED HIM? " her hands tossed into the air.. as if in complete exasperation... as she turned to walk away, then turned back on him, in a fury of copper curls and glittering green hues... " It's ok for you to ride into battle risk you life and limbs.. and I'm supposed to sit by and say.. ohhhhh. it's because he's a soldier... I'm his wife so I just have to deal with it... I think I'll knit a sweater while I wait to hear if he's DEAD! but when I have the same important mission for Duty and Country it's too much for you to keep our marriage a secret! and to let me do my job without.. you taking manly offense! Nic.. Nic.. " her foot stamped and her form went ridgid.... "Ohhhhhhh I can't believe you!" again her hands went up in the air. as she whirled to head out the garden door.
Nicholas: "You consider me her real father and yet you want to use her against who is her blood..convince him he was the father...so he can do good, after what he's done?" Gloved hand groaned, as both fists balled at his sides. "Shaden...your presuming the wrong thing.." His jaw clenched as he struck out, knocking against a hanging plant by the door" Damn it I never said that!" He growled and fixed a pointed finger at her. "I've never treated you like a whore, courtesan or prostitute damn it! Now your going to tell me what emotions I'm having?! I understood perfectly well what and who you are when I married you, I promised you to be ok with keeping our marriage a secret but damn it I deserve to know WHY we're keeping it a secret from that pig! I'm not stopping you from doing this as much as you wouldn't be able to stop me from protecting the country in which my wife resides in damn it, but if I go and he tries to hurt you, so help me God, so help me GOD..I will kill him, King or no King!" He watched her pace like a tigeress within a cage, in truth he was not far from doing it himself. "Manly offense?" he let out a snort, albeit snorting like a laugh as his gloved hand rose and threw against her hair once more. "I want to know the situation so I can keep my cool, school myself on it to keep all reserve down in wanting to murder that bastard where he stands so you can do your diplomatic duty, and that's manly offense. "You know Shaden...let me know when you stop comparing me to men from your past...then we'll talk.."As she stalked out the Garden Door he followed only to move in the other direction.
Shaden: "what did that Plant do to you Nicholas Stryker?" she narrowed her eyes as her prized orchid went flying onto the portico.. in a broken heap.. the sound of it's container shattering causing her to turn on her heel and stalk back toward him.. indeed like a tigress or lioness.. " I'm not using her " her tone was low... " But she changed my life.. my way of thinking... perhaps she can change his as well.. there has to be a purpose... for her... I cannot think of a better thing that if her memory, in some way... could bring about some measure of peace... then I could rest... assured that her life meant something... more than just here in my heart " her hands clenched at her heart...as tears fell down her cheeks " Can't you see Nicholas.. I can't let her life be in vain.. something... has to come of it... and if her memory could touch him.. in just one thousandth of the way it touched me... then I know he would see... that not only Joy, but the other children of Scotland and Skye deserve a homeland that is free...".
Nicholas: "It pissed me off.."He growled, really she had but he would never in a million years hit her, he would die first. He whirled upon his feet as she stalked back towards him, ah hell! He did not want to do this right now. "She was apart of you, yes she changed you, I am happy for it, I am blessed to have time with her, even if it was for when she was in your stomach. She changed my life too, but men like that..what he did to you? He doesn't deserve to know her, not one ounce of her memory. Her life will never be in vain if she and those other children live in our hearts, if this war is won, it will all be in the name of them..and Joy. But if you want to do this, I won't stop you, hell I swore an oath to you long before I swore my love for you, my marriage to you won't stop my protection of you, and I swear to God and all that is holy...if he touches you, I will kill him. Heaven and hell be damned, I will murder him before he gets a chance to repeat what he did last time." He sank down onto one of the garden benches, settling his elbows upon his knees.
Shaden:"I've reports he is sick, and possibly dying Nicholas.. not well enough to cause me harm... " she moved to him sinking before him her hands settling on his knees " Do you honestly think I would prefer a rehash of what happened, that I would risk it if I felt I could not sway him...?" her eyes bore into his " Nicholas... I know... in my heart this is the right thing to do... it must be done.. if I didn't try... then I would be wasting the best opportunity that we have to bring about an end to this... I'm asking you for the trust and the freedom to see it done..." her head tilted so she could look into his face... " Then you may shout to the rooftops that we are married cry the bans and walk about with a sign that says we are married..." she smiled softly " I love you... only you...".
Nicholas: "Not by his hands...but I'll be watching every corner with avengeance." His hands rose, his hand stroking across the scruff upon his chin. "You've always had my trust Shaden, its the world I do not trust...and you will always have freedom to do as you wish...I have not taken anything from you, merely given you...myself.."His hands dropped from his face to settle over her hands against his knees. Her head tilted, her eyes catching his and his head rose to look at her. "I know you do Shaden...I know.." His hands rose from hers to capture her cheeks as he pulled her up to meet his lips.
Shaden: "Nicholas... " her voice was softer now her anger having burnt it' self up in a blaze.. it seemed... " It's not about him... deserving it.. it's about Skye.. Scotland and everyone in it deserving to live free of the tyranny and oppression of the English.. of a dream of liberty ... I'll do whatever it takes.. so that our children.. the ones we plan on having can grow up ... in a world where they can be free... I do this for us.. for our future just as you do it for us... I only fight a battle in a different way... on a different front... " her hands tightened about his " Please understand".
Nicholas: His thumbs stroked lazily at her cheeks as he listened to her speak. Yes, he partly saw this as his fault, he was ass, point taken but his anger had not been completely misplaced. "Shaden...this is who you are, this is part of the reason I love you, I am not angry at what you do, I am not angry at you..I am angry with him but I commend you for wanting to stand up for your country even against the very man who...hurt you. It makes you a wonderful and strong person." He drew her hands between his own and lifted them to his lips, kissing against each knuckle until he had kissed each one at least once if not twice. "I do understand."

Nicholas:The battle had ended, both sides had losses but in his opinion. Both sides had lost the moment the attack began. Everything was a misunderstanding, actions taken in stupidity that had cost the lives of good men and women. In the end each side laid down arms at the Bruce's speech, no victory this time, only defeat. Defeat in the shame that this should never have happened if some had been thinking rationally, acted rationally but no, lives were lost and could not be replaced. Yet nothing seems so devastating as to look up and see your wife standing beside the Bruce. Everything seemed to click into place. The disappearance to powder her nose during the party, her disappearance during the start of the battle, when he had searched with a lump within his stomach, unable to find her. He was a mass of understanding and gentleness most of the time, but he could not abide men with dispositions such as that made, he would grin an bear it he reserved, when she felt the need to go to the man, but this? He honestly didn't understand the woman! It was anger that kept him from her, and pride, never to allow his business be displayed in front of others, but when a battle such as this happened? There was much to do that kept him from her thankfully as well. Yet when it was time to go home, he was nowhere to be found, having left her behind to find her own way home. After all, she was a big girl right? Could handle herself? Home... bath... home... bath... he chanted in his head to keep himself from letting go upon someone undeserving. Even Gerda did not get a hello, just "Bath" and then a sweep of his form upstairs to enjoy it.
Shaden: It would be in the wee hours of dawn she slipped into their room.. carefully not to make any noise.. not because she was being sneaky, but because Gerda had warned her that Nicholas was in a foul mood, and uninjured.. but a bear none the less... at those words Shaden.. drew a deep breath.. she knew he had seen.. or at least heard that she was at the Bruce's side, as he turned over the power of the Monarchy to Adam... her eyes closed tightly as she steeled herself for his anger... hoping upon hope that he would sleep thru her slipping into bed beside him.. and a few hours rest would be hers before the battle between them began.. quietly she undressed.. and slipped on a nightgown..and into bed beside him with barely a whisper of movement.. easing in.. holding her breath.. to see if she could disappear into slumber.. un accosted.
Nicholas:The bath did nothing for his nerves, nothing for the anger that boiled within his blood but at least it cleaned him of the muck and blood that had caked his body. His muscles were sore, screaming out in protest as he lay upon his side, one arm shoved under his pillow as he stared at the window until the wee hours of dawn were peeking into the window. How long had he been brooding now, quite a while. Slowly lids slid closed as he tried to force himself into some kind of peaceful sleep but even sleep would not come as he heard her move into the room and through her states of undress before the bed moved. Any other time and he would of laughed the way he knew she was holding her breath. "I'm not asleep Shaden.." He mumbled beside her yet didn't roll his front to face her. Instead he kicked the covers off and sat up. "but by all means, sleep...no doubt your tired after lying, and running around castles after bastard kings.."
Shaden:She rolled over toward him... her hands laying on his shoulder gently... " Nicholas..." her tone was soft and loving.. " please... do not be like this " her lips found his shoulder softly.... pressing delicately.. then again and again... hoping to sooth him... from beneath his flesh she felt both his tenseness and irritation... her hands smoothing down his arm easily.
Nicholas:For a moment he relaxed under her touch. The woman knew how to work her magic. With a hard intake of breath, he pushed against the bed and moved away from her touch. No he did not want to be soothed by touch away from what had hurt most, she lied and she had done it with full knowledge of what she was doing, to his face. Had she been trying to protect him from some impending death, he would of understood, but this? She lied for the Bruce..and she had risked her life to let that man make a speech? That was one thing he could not understand. His chest was bear from clothing, only the thin night pants that flapped loosely about his ankles as he moved to the window. His arms rose and the seal clutched as he leaned towards it. How he missed the snow, it would be the perfect thing to cool his fire filled nerves.
Shaden:She sat up and watched him... " What go ahead and yell or whatever I prefer it to the silent treatment... " her arms crossed in her lap as she sat Indian style beneath the covers.. watching him... " We might as well.. it's not like either of us will sleep " her tone was resigned.. exhausted and tired... a pillow was pulled from behind her and plumped in her lap.. fingers fidgeting with the lace embroidery... at the edge for something to occupy them.
Nicholas: His head dipped. Even angry he calculated his words before he spoke, just as he did every time even when he was calm. The strangeness of it was he wasn't raging mad as he had been before. That calm exterior was still extended, though his nerves and body were tense as ever. "You lied to me..to my face. Powdering your nose..got lost..You lied to be, for the Bruce?" His head lifted, lids slid open as he pressed up from the window to turn a look at her. That look was deadly. He was raging pissed.
Shaden:She looked at him with a preturbed look... " I did.. go to the bathroom... but yes I went to look for him... I had heard he was in residence at the Keep.. and I went to look.. it's part of my job... " he had her on the lying about getting lost though... fair and square.. " but yes.. I did fib about getting lost.. I didn't want you to worry.. and at that point I had seen him... talked to him.. and I though... everything was ok.. there was no reason.. to upset you or worse.. it was handled... and I was afraid if you knew he was there.. you would do something rash.. and... male... and put in jeopardy the things I was working toward.." she sighed deeply and stared up at him like a chastised child...
Nicholas: "So once again, you put no faith in me, no trust.."His jaw flexed in anger as his fists clenched and unclenched. Was he going to strike her? Never, of course he would die first but the woman was beginning to infuriate him more and more. "You think so little and so less of me...something rash and male? Tell me Shaden, because I don't understand, I don't understand the situation or you at this point. On what level have I given you cause to believe I would do something so irresponsible and stupid?"
Shaden: " I don't think so little of you.... I think you would likely kill him for what he has done... to me... if you knew he was there..." she sighed softly... " Perhaps I'm too used to being on my own.. and not.. thinking as a married woman.. I don't' know " her hands lifted in confusion.. " I don't understand me half the time.. it's like... I act... and then.. realize I've done something to hurt you.. or anger you.. and I didn't mean too.. I was intending.. to do just the opposite... to keep you... from... being involved.. or upset " the pillow was punched with irritation.. as she closed her eyes trying to calm herself from being upset... " Nicholas.. I love you.. I don't mean to ... anger you... it was never my intention "
Nicholas:"I am not so easily angered into doing stupid things. I promised you I would not harm that man unless he harmed you."He moved towards the bed, crawling on as she punched the pillow in frustration and pulled her into his arms. "I love you too Shaden, I understand you want to protect me, but you can't hide me from being involved..I am not so easily pushed out of things...brings out the bear in me, much like you do.."
Shaden: As he took her in his arms she.. flinched... knowing that the rest of what she had agreed to would likely send him flailing from the bed once more... she inhaled his scent softly enveloping him in her arms.. " I'm sorry.... I didn't mean to... I love you " she whispered against his cheek... not darling to look in his eyes... just enjoying the moment of being in her husbands arms... but he would know.. there was more.. by the way she didn't relax.. the way her breath stalled... and her hands were still.. no it wasn't over yet...
Nicholas:He nuzzled his face into her neck, kissing at the dip were her neck meet her shoulder as his arms tightened around her. Inhaling the scent of her, orchids, he could still smell it on her despite the battle the night before. The woman was infuriating but oh how she ignited him in other ways as well. "I love you Shaden...always have...always will." Slowly his face moved against her neck and shoulder. He felt her still stiff in his arms, breath stilled. That alone made his head rise. "What is it?" This time his voice demanded the truth, no lies.
Shaden:She looked down.. and released her breath... her teeth worrying her bottom lip... " you saw his speech? when he handed power over to ... Adam?" she drew back and looked at him.. warily.... " Afterward he asked me... asked me.. to see him back to Edinburgh..." the words came in a rush as if she were saying them quickly before she lost her nerve... " and be at his side until he died... " her eyes looked up at him with that sadness and grief that had never left since Joy had been born still.. " I could not refuse him... I said yes... he is dying Nicholas... he has only a few weeks at the most... I stirred him to give away his power .. how could I deny him.. a last request?"
Nicholas:His arms loosened from around her waist as he leaned an elbow back upon the bed to stare at her. It took a few minutes for him to sort out the rushed words within his head. Oh how she was right, he was up and out of the bed in a shot. A hand shoved through his hair as he fought to quill the anger rising in him. "You did....what?" His hand pushed over the top of his head to land against his mouth, rubbing the scruff on his face. "Did he apologize for what was done to you? Promise to damn his soul to the devil for it? Hmm?! Couldn't deny him a last request? He doesn't f**king deserve it Shaden!" His hand dropped from his mouth to ball at his side as he moved to the window and take a lean against it again.
Shaden:" I forgave him... and he did... apologize... Nicholas we have come to an understanding... I know you believe he doesn't deserve it.. but .. but.. " she stood and moved toward him.. " I cannot explain it to you.. I can't even find the words to explain it to myself.. I just know.. it's the right thing.. for me to do... I ... don't understand it myself.." she sighed pressing her forehead to his back... her arms weaving about his waist.. " Please.... don't hate me.. for this " she whispered softly... her voice wavering as if she expected him to hate her.. to leave her...
Nicholas:His arms twisted over his chest, holding tight as he pressed his forehead to the pane of glass at the window. With spring in the air, the window was mildly cool, not enough to cool his temper though. A devote catholic, he was taught about forgiveness an the importance of it for the everlasting soul but something about that man, what he did to the woman he loved? Nicholas was not sure he could bee a good catholic man and forgive the bastard...ever. Shaden was just...to good. She was so kind hearted but lord the woman was going to make him have a heart attack one of these days! Slowly his arms relaxed and laid over her own as he let out a heavy sigh. She all ready agreed, all ready promise so what could he say that would change it? He could do nothing but abide it. "I don't hate you Shaden..I could never hate you."His arms relaxed as he shifted, turning in her embrace to pull her to the front of him and hold her close. "I love you Shaden, you and your unexplained actions and big forgiving heart..all of it. I may not understand it right now..may not ever understand it, but doesn't make me love you less..doesn't make me hate you...just makes me love you more.."
