The stolid Nordic woman had answered the door at the knock.. It was to be expected of late.. Seemed as though the Lily didn’t need to be open to have a steady stream of visitors.. At all hours of the night.. Dinner time was sacred to Gerda.. And it was almost there.. No one should be interrupted during dinner… Steele gray braids looped back and forth across the back of her head framing her strong Nordic face as she opened the door “ Evening and Welcome to the Lily… I’ll show you to the fire.. And be fetching the Mistress” and like that she was off.. A pocket watch slipped from her grey skirts, flipped open and a frown on her face.. Likely this visit would delay the mistress’s dinner. The Man was lead to a great room.. Fireplace a grand amalgamation of glazed tiles.. Carved mantle and priceless art of a pastoral nature above. Artifacts of expensive and yet good taste littered the mantle.. Small statues.. Marble obelisk.. Things that meant something to someone.. For they cast a well loved look upon themselves… fine carved furniture.. Not dainty and feminine but masculine and robed in dark leathers and velvets scattered in conversational clumps about the room.. And books.. They seemed to be almost everywhere.. Small boxes when lifted would reveal cigars and smoking weed.. Along with clips and papers for rolling.. A tasteful gentleman’s club.. Elegant and expensive without garish or gaudy pretense.. The floors perfectly polished cherry.. Shone rich and elegant.. It was as if he had walked into a nobles Estate.. Not… a brothel but and elegant house.
Soon enough Gerda would slip behind a paneled door to the left of the great fireplace where a merry fire blazed and crackled.. A few moments would pass when she exited the Lady of the House would follow.. A vision in lilac velvet, embroider heavily with silver threat.. Making her something of a sugarplum fairy.. If one were to have such fanciful thoughts, Copper curls loose and framing her winsome face a warm smile falling over her lips as she recognized the gentleman and made her way to him " Captain Flynn.. how wonderful to see you... " she stopped before him and extended her hand elegantly... " To what do I owe this pleasure?"
CaptainJackFlynn In the few moments that Gerda had been gone, the Irishman had simply drifted over towards the warm fire. And, for a few moments, that is where he had been standing. With one hand, he had tucked the tricorn underneath of his left arm, while his free hands had begun to unbutton the heavy pea coat that had shielded him from the colder climates of the north and the squaw that blew in now and again. Slowly, he had begun to move around the small room. The room that provided a glimpse into the world of the Gilded Lily. The Irishman canted his head quietly, listening to the crackling of the fire. Perhaps he detected another sound above that of the burning wood? Perhaps the sound of a harpsichord or a harp being played? His foot falls would carry him across the stained wood, only a short ways, toward the other door. Was he allowed a glimpse into another room. Did he spy one of the Courtesans there, sitting upon a stool and playing the instrument that sent dancing notes through the air? T'was enough for him to offer a soft smile to the woman, a slight bow, before he returned to the waiting room. When at last the door was opened once more, and Shaden entered, the Irishman would walk toward her. There would be a bow - although it would lack the grand, sweeping gesture and the depth of a practiced courtier - to the lady, as he gently took the lady's hand. There was a soft, very gentlemanly, kiss to the back of her hand, "Thank ye fer recivin' me', m'lady Armoire....." And then, there was an uncharacteristic of the Irishman before rising from his brow, there was a very soft movement. A gentle movement. One that allowed his forehead to lightly touch the back of her hand. It was the movement of a penitent. As the Irishman rose, he looked a bit troubled. Once he was certain that they were alone, he hesitated, before gently saying, ".... I 'ave come ta offer ye what I can, iffen ye need it...." He let his voice trail off.
Shaden : Indeed there was a harpsichord lingering in the air.. soon to be joined by a lute and mandolin.. you see the soon to be courtesans were being educated in all the arts and more.. not just whores.. but real ladies of the court.. there were three in the Demi parlor... Ladies in training... Jane a beautiful blond yet shy looking beauty... her hands playing lightly over the harpsichord, Maggie a dark haired exotic looking girl.. perhaps with a hint of French... and Mary.. plain Mary... everything about her seemed to be earthen tones from her dark brown hair to eyes that were much the same.. she seemed less than extraordinary until she lifted the mandolin and played.. accompanying the other two girls with such emotive perfection that it would bring tears to even the most stalwart of men.. and then she smiled.... and it was then her beauty was revealed... Shaden glanced into the adjoining parlor as he bowed his forehead touching her hand... " My needs are adequately met Captain... except in company... which I am delighted you have come... will you have somthing to drink.. or perhaps... dine with me tonight?" her manners were better than most at court and although she was curious at his statement of her need.. she did not ask.. allowing him to broach the subject if he would... her head nodded softly in the direction of the trio.. " They practice before dinner... delightful are they not.. Mary is most accomplished.. she has an inborn sense of all things musical.. can play most any instrument by ear.. " her eyes warmed as she looked at the girls.. so far from where they had come.. found on the streets alone and starving they now looked the part of gentle ladies of court.
Flynn : The Irishman would offer another, soft, bow to Shade, "... I'd be 'onored ta dine wit' ye, m'lady." Would she see that the Irishman felt out of his element? For much of his life, the Irishman lived a shared experience to the three courtesans - the three ladies - in - training - and, e'en know, felt out of place when called upon to move in the high social circles. There was a soft, genuine smile, "As I said, m'lady, will dae what I can ta see tha' yer needs... iffen ye 'ave them... are met." Whatever the issue that had saw the Irishman come calling, he still felt ill at ease discussing it. The eyes were what betrayed him, showing his worry. After a few moments, the Irishman politely excused himself. He would go over to where Jane, Mary, and Maggie were practicing. There was the softest of bows to them. Had Shaden accompanied him, or would she await his return? The Irishman would offer a bow to the group, although he was still lacking the grace of the male courtiers, before he would speak to each. There would be a soft conversation with each of the women - if t'was in his abilities, he would speak with them in their native tongues... if provided a hint. Although to many this was but a simple exchange of niceties, to the Irishman it was a way to learn some about the girls. The conversations did not seem rushed, but they were not long. In each, there was a gentle effort to have a girl smile and, if he was truly favored, offer a soft laugh at his (polite) comments. Did Jane blush, at being addressed so by such a dashing figure as the Lord Admiral? Before excusing himself from the group, the Irishman would thank them - individually and as a whole - for playing this evening. Then he would politely excuse himself and return to Shaden's side.
Shaden: She watched as both Flynn and the trio practiced social intercourse upon each other.. Jane and Maggie excelling and Mary still holding back... yet somthing about Mary made Shaden think of a diamond in the rough... she would outshine the others one day.. when Flynn came back to her she smiled... " You do them an honor.. they are in need of male adoration.. they still have much confidence to build.. but are excelling at all things.. I'm quite proud of them.. " she laced her hand into the crook of his elbow.. while he was chatting with the girls.. she had sent Gerda to set up a private dinner for them in a small intimate dining room " Dinner is almost ready.. perhaps wine or cognac before?" she smiled politely as she guided him to the dining room.. and stood beside a sideboard where several decanters of liquor were stocked..., meanwhile servants quietly set the table with then withdrew leaving them alone... " By your offer I take it you... have heard rumors... and what.. seek to offer your assistance with my... reputation?" she turned holding a glass of cognac out to him.. alone now she would ask the question on her mind.. of why he was there.
Flynn : The Irishman offered a soft smile as the came back, a slight touch of blush to features as he glanced down. "... I try to only offer accolade only that which is true...." He was quiet for a few moments, before saying, "... I have never understood the need to praise an individual... when they had done nothing worthy of praise..." The Irishman smiled softly, to himself, as she laced her hands around the crook of his elbow. In such surroundings, he did his best to be a true officer and gentleman. As they entered the dining room, the Irishman said, softly, "Cognac.. please.." For a few moments, there would be but the soft sounds. Those of the house staff quietly setting the dining room with the silverware, dishware, and food. The sounds of Shaden preparing their drinks. When at last they were alone, the Irishman listened to her speak. To her question. In truth, it stung. She had not be impolite, but that which she had asked had pricked at him. Reminded him that he had, indeed, something to be mindful off. The Irishman said quietly, "... Aye..." He hesitated quietly, "I 'ave 'eard rumors of late, tha' concern ye an' tha Gen'ral an' tha man known as Jack of Trades....." The Irishman slowly raised his eyes and, for the first time that evening, meet her eyes, "... I dae knae believe tha ones concernin' ye an' tha Gen'ral... I knae ye both...." He hesitated, "Tha Gen'ral more than I knae ye..." There was a frown. "... an' nae. I did nae come 'ere fer yer reputation....." He took a deep breath, met her eyes once again, "I 'ave come 'ere, ta dae what I should 'ave done upon our first meetin'. I 'ave come ta be a gentleman tae ye..." He worried over how the last would sound. Would it sound truly sincere? Or be found wanting? "An' be tha true friend tha' I should 'ave been...."
Shaden : Her hand pulled back once the cognac was taken as she listened to him, watched his hesitancy over speaking the rumors he heard.., she listened quietly and nodded... " Maahes is married to my sister... I would never betray that ... you may know also that she was captured for the bounty on her head.. The rumor you heard was.. part of that.. He and I were drugged and placed... to look as if we were.. together.. as part of a ruse to get to her..She and he are now back at Redwall and are happy and healthy... as for Trades.." the sadness welled up in her eyes and was quickly masked by a too bright smile... " We have parted ways... and I lay no blame at his feet.. it is not easy to be a courtesans lover" she didn't mention the child.. or the lack of knowing the father... there were some things that were still tender... she turned and poured herself a glass of water and squeezed lemon into it.. before settling at the table where a dinner of chicken pie, fresh bread and cheese had been settled.. " I apologize for the lack of elegant dining.. I was not expecting guest.. and Gerda.. knows how I like chicken pie.. " she blushed softly as she held out her hand indicating he should take a seat as well at her side..." though she makes enough to feed an army so while not elegant you will not go wanting.." she waited for him to be seated then smiled softly to his last statement " I never took you as any less than a true friend... while we do not move in the same circles.. I remember our past conversations with great fondness"
Flynn: There was a soft smile upon his features as he accepted the cognac, "Thank ye...." He said softly. There was a soft smile upon his features, as he slowly enjoyed his cognac. As he listened to her. There was a soft nod of his head as she spoke regarding the ruse, of the treachery of it. But as she spoke of Trades? The Irishman would gently sit his glass of cognac down. And ... and he was wrong footed. Wrong footed by the setting, by the brief and unguarded moment when he saw the sadness that showed. Would she know that he sought to offer comfort? Betrayed, no doubt, by his eyes. Or the way he had begun to take some step toward her. Or had it been some treacherous movement of his hand? But he was wrong footed, here. In this place of elegance. What would be the appropriate response in such a setting? Was personal contact discouraged? There was a soft sigh, before he offer a soft smile. Then he said, softly, "... in matters o' tha 'eart, m'lady, tis only as difficult as ye make it..." Then he would quietly take up his glass of cognac, the Irishman would once again offer her his arm of the trek to the table. There was a soft smile, "Dae nae worry o'er it, m'lady. I am nae an elegant man...." Ah! But he would be seated, only once she had seated. There would be a few moments of fussing with his napkin, to get it squared, before saying, "... we 'ave 'ad too few o' them."
Shaden : "then we shall endeavor to have more" the whole business of Trades was put away.. as she flashed a beautiful enchanting smile his way, slicing into the pie and serving him adeptly before herself filling his plate with a manly portion... " How is Seanna... I saw her in the markets not long ago with The Duchess and her son.. she seemed quite the happy little girl..." she moved to serve herself stopping a moment before eating.. her head bowing in silent prayer.. eyes closed for one moment.. shocking yes.. a religious courtesan.. ? Wonders never ceased.. though she was well aware of the heathen ways of the Isle.. she would pay due respect to her own religion... without excuse to anyone... Glacial green hues would lift as she tasted the chicken pie.. with a look of pure delight " I will take one of these over faux grai any day.." she laughed lightly and wrinkled her nose at the thought of patt` goose liver and mutton brains served as if they were wonders of the world.
Flynn: The Irishman had offered a soft smile, discretely hidden behind his hand, at the portions that she served herself. It was, in a way, refreshing. Many of the women he had accompanied had taken such dainty portions. There had been another smile upon his features, as she had inquired about Seanna. Before he could respond, however, the Irishman saw that she had slowly closed her eyes. There was a cant of his head, before he quietly closed his eyes as well. A soft, quiet prayer was gently offered to Mannan mic Lirr, the Irish God of the Sea. There was a soft, polite laugh at her comment of eating faux grai. He hesitated, then let but a touch of his base nature show, "... I 'ave ne'er understood tha desire o' some ta eat tha trash parts o' an animal...." There. He'd said it. There was a soft smile upon his features. Then he said, "M'daughter tis a 'appy little girl... I 'ave done all tha' I can ta see tha' she is sae." There was a smile, "She grows sae fast...an' more like 'er mother each day..." There was whistful smile.
Shaden : Children are the best parts of us I've heard said... if so you and your wife had some very good parts" she teased a smile from him.. " for she is a lovely child.. I know perhaps it's not.. proper but I would like to see her again.. perhaps take her riding.. or shopping.. little girls love shopping I would think ?" she carefully ate her dinner buttering her bread an then a piece for him settling it on the edge of his plate.. consummate caretaker.. always knowing what he wanted the moment before he wanted it ... part of her training no doubt... " Yes some of the things the nobility like.. are part and parcel no doubt of the kitchen staff not knowing what to do with the rest of the mess"
Flynn The Irishman offered a quiet word of thanks, for being both polite and quick enough to gently cover his mouth with his napkin. Fortunately, the Irishman did not choke on the soft bite of bread that he had taken. After a few moments, he hesitated. Then he said, ".... I must admit, m'lady, such an idea does greatly appeal ta me...." There was a smile, "I can be seein' what was goin' on in some Anglish kitchen, 'Oi, Elanor! What ye want me ta dae wit' this?' 'Just put on tha plate, tha' nobles be thinkin' it some great treat!'." There was another soft bit of laughter. Then he was quiet for a long while, before he hesitated. Then he said softly, ".... I shall be honest, m'lady, iffen ye shall be keepin' it in yer confidence...."
Shaden : " Captain Flynn anything you say will be kept in the strictest of confidence.. it is a rule here at the Lily.. one I hold dear.. what happens in the Lily stays here.. and between you and I.. it stays here" she tapped her temple lightly... to indicate her mind... " Your secrets are safe I assure you " she continued to finish her dinner and then pushed the plate back not even half eaten.. and sipped her water.. before leaning back and watching him with soft warm hues.. "I'm a great listener "
Flynn: There was a few moments pause, to allow the Irishman to finish his meal. There was a dabbing at his mouth, to ensure that it was clean. But she could tell, that this was done for another reason. To allow the Irishman to regain his footing. Then he said softly, " ... I 'ave nae children of mah loins...." He was quiet for a few moments, meeting Shaden's eyes quietly. "Seanna does nae remember 'er true Da, an' dubbed me 'er Da when she was old 'nough ta talk. An' ta 'er, I e'er an always will be 'er Da." There was perhaps a hint of defiance in the last. He took a deep breath, before slowly letting it out. "... I 'ave decided tha' I shall ne'er tell 'er o' yer true Da. Bad enough ta grow old 'nough... an' learn tha' 'er Ma died in battle...."
Shaden " I never knew.. I thought she was your daugher, I'm sorry" her hand reached across the table and enfolded his... " She's a lucky little girl to have you... not many a men.. would take a child not his own.. and raise it as his.. " her eyes held that sadness once more.. then was quickly brushed aside. " You are all she needs.. and when she grows old enough.. to know of her Mother .. you will tell her.. she will need you then.. but now she has such a good life.. you should be proud of what you have done.. how you've raised her..
Flynn The Irishman smiled softy, "Seanna tis alwasy m'daughter, an' shall be fer e'ery an' always...." The Irishman was quiet for a few moments, once she had laid her hand upon his own. Then he gently opened his hand, letting her own close into it. There was a gentle squeeze given. "Thank ye.... I dae all I can fer 'er."
Shaden "you've done well.. and she loves you dearly.. you can see it in her face... when she looks at you.. she's a happy little girl who adores her father " her fingers gave him a gnetle squeeze back.. " You are a fine man Captain.. even if your Irish " she winked playfully and gave him an enchanting smile... the Franco Italian Courtesan was out of her element in Scottland as well.. but exile was exile and she would never return to her homeland ever again.. there was after all the fact that her country men thought her dead

CaptainJackFlynn : What would the courtesans of the Gilded Lily make of it, when the Irishman would call on them once more? Was that the Irishman heard drifting upon the night air? As he came closer, he knocked on the door. Softly, at first. Then a touch louder.
Maggie: Ohhh they had seen him the first time.. he had arrived to see the Mistress.. and all eyes had been upon him as if he were some treat... breathless whispers at night about the handsome Captain.. and then of all things Jayne had practically chased him away the night before.. telling him the Mistress was already retired.. when she could have asked him in... and now he was back once more.. this time Maggie would open the door.. being the others were occupied in the great room with Dancing lessons.. and being odd man out.. she was left to get the door... it was with a bit of surprise in her cobalt blue hues that she recognized him.. " Welcome to the Lily Captain Flynn.. you are just in time for Dance lessons.. " she smiled enchantingly dipping a light bob.. the sapphire blue of her gown catching the reflection of the winter moon behind him casting her in a radiant silvery glow
Flynn : For but a few moments, the Irishman hesitated when she mentioned his name. And, for some reason, at the surprise that was in her eyes - in her voice- when he called again? Then the Irishman smiled softly, offering a warm bow in to Maggie in return. "G'eve, milady...." As the Irishman raised from his bow, he couldn't help but smile softly. There was a gentle cant of his head. When he spoke, he did so in her native tongue, "Pardon.... I did not mean to interrupt your lessons...." He hesitated, before offering another soft smile, "I did not mean to steal you away from your dance partner, m'lady..."
Maggie: " I have no dance partner " dark lashes fluttered softly.. the effect much like a geisha's fan... " I am but a wallflower " her tone held some humor and teasing in it.. as she offered him in with a gracious hand.. pointing to the room where the housekeeper plunked away on a piano.. not very well either... and about the room the four women waltzed..
Shaden: counting in cadence to the music... for the girls.." 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3.. shoulder back.. head tilted up to your partner.. and smile... it’s not work girls.. it dancing " she laughed softly trying to teach them to waltz with grace and as if it were second nature was somthing.. of a task...
Maggie: "You see.. I am the odd man out.. so to speak.. " she stopped in the archway of the great room " unless you would care to show them.. how to do it properly... perhaps... " cobalt blue hues swept up to him with a slight challenge... shining in their depths"
FLynn: The Irishman offered another soft bow when she offered her hand to him, lightly taking it in his own. There was a soft smile, "Oh?" Once the Irishman had been guided into the Lily, there was a soft smile. Once he had removed his pea coat and tricorn, handing them to one of the wait staff no doubt, the Irishman would trail after his gracious hostess for the evening. For a few moments, he would stand at the door with Maggie. For a few moments, he would let his eyes focus on the dancing couples. There was smile in his eyes. One that turned a bit surprised at her offer. Still in French, he asked quietly, "Pardon?" He hesitated for a few moments. "... you wish for me to serve as your dance partner?" Almost immediately, he tried to have a reason for him not to accept such a task. Then he could not help but smile, bowing to her.
Maggi: Oui" she smiled as he bowed " I wish you to partner me in dancing.. this evening.. " her head tilted in sweet respect of his agreement " The pleasure will be mine Sir " her hand was offered once more.. as she stepped lightly into the room.. now the only lady with a real man for a partner.. over her shoulder she saw Chloe and Jayne gaping.. and Mary blush deeply to be seen dancing with the Mistress.. and not doing such a wonderful job either.. twice she stomped on Shaden’s foot..but true to form Shaden laughed and continued to count.. "ohhh look girls we have a guest.. and If I remember correctly a fine dancer " she winked as she twirled by with Mary.. and Jayne and Heather twittered . Taking her place on the dance floor she laid a gentle hand on his shoulder the other placed in his hand " I trust you to lead... me.... " her voice was soft.. and a bit.. teasing.. yet seductive.. was she practicing her wiles on him?"M'lady affords me a great honor....." He would extend his hand toward her.
Flynn : There was a soft cant of his head given, as he thought of that as well. However, the Irishman was of age. Wise to such wiles. His thoughts were hidden behind a soft smile of amusement. There would be a few moments as the Irishman did his best to remember where one placed his arm around his companion's waist. The Irishman hesitated for a few moments; they were close. There was a faint touch of blush to his features. Then he said softly, "Pray, fergive me... iffen my steps dae seem awkward, tis of an injury suffered long ago..." Such an excuse would cover the genuine stiffness of his left leg - the hallmark of where it had suffered a wound near the knee - and the time it took him to remember his steps. When Shaden began the count again, the Irishman and Maggie began to dance.
Maggi: " I will forgive you only if you forgive me should I misstep as well. these dances are new.. to me.. " a honeyed soft voice was lifted as was her face to him.. as they begin to dance.. fluid easy steps .. that were far more graceful than the other girl.. followed him perfectly... the correct posture.. a slight tilt of her head that offered him the view of an elegant line of her neck dark hair twisted up and pinned with little silver pins.. save for a few whisp that played over her neck escaping the confines of the upsweep.. her hand light on his shoulder was warm and gentle.. the music while not perfect was getting better.. perhaps it was just the dancers themselves enjoying the moment.. " you dance well.. I think you protest to much mon Capitain"
JackFlynn : The Irishman smiled softly at Maggie's words. Gently he said, "I shall fergive ye yer missteps, m'lady.... but I dae say tha' ye are far more graceful than I...." What would she do, when the Irishman met her eyes? And offered her a genuine smile. Perhaps, after that, his eyes became easier to read. He thought her attractive. Despite the tone of her skin. What did she make of the white captain? His features betrayed his age. The eyes and the corner of his mouth was marked by the faint traces of where both happiness and tragedy had marked his features. The skin was no longer the purest of white, but show clear the weathering of the elements. The nose was off-set just the slightest, while there was a faint scar on his lip. To her comment of protesting, he simply said, ".... I 'ave nae danced since I was a young lad..."
Maggie: It was true her skin was the burnished coppery tone of one whose lineage was less than defined.. perhaps the darkness of the French.. but likely a blending of races.. it made for an almost unrivaled beauty.. coupled with those alluring cobalt eyes... it was remarkable... upon meeting his gaze she chuckled.. and shook her head.. softly " Flattery.. I hear is the trade of the Irish.. mon Capitain.. should I believe you ?" a arch of a dark brow.. as he spun her about.. her teasing and fiery nature apparent in the way she met his gaze and did not demure like the other girls.. she was confident.. independent.. and somehow.. it was inborn... he could tell.. not somthing she assumed after coming to the Lily..
Jack Flynn: The Irishman chuckled softly as he gently spun Maggie 'bout during the dance, softly saying, "....one could ask the same of you, M’Lady. Is it not true that the French poets and troubadours are well known for their romantic poetry?" There was a smile upon his features as he danced with her. It was this very thing, this very confidence, that would see the Irishman slowly call upon the Gilded Lily not for Shaden - but for Maggie. There was, of course, little doubting that Shaden's careful and demur refusals of the Captain's offers of companion had some role as well. Perhaps Shaden saw something in the pair that now danced amongst the others?
Maggi: Around and round they danced.. perhaps making quite the show for the other courtesan ladies.. except of Course Shaden who had most likely danced for Kings and Queens.. soon enough the exhilaration of the dance had brought a bloom to dusky hued cheeks.. an sparkle to cobalt eyes... they seemed to float about as if on wings.. entranced .. until persistent giggles... from behind them.. stalled her in her steps.. bumping awkwardly into him.. " Ohhh I'm so sorry..." she now was flat against his chest.. grasping the lapels of his coat... when had the music stopped was that .. the source of the laughter? embarrassed.. she righted herself.. sapphire skirts swirling about his legs as they came to the abrupt halt
Flynn: The Irishman had smiled softly as they dance, maintaining a softer counter part to Shay's counting. It could be said that he was doing it for himself, but perhaps Maggi had been brought into as well. As the sparkle came to her eyes, the Irishman couldn't help but think that it was after some time on her own. The blush made her look younger, more innocent, as they danced. Maggie wasn't the only who had been enthralled by the music, nor the only one who was lost in the music. It was Maggi, however, that would be the one to see their dance end. ... but was it for the better? Jack smiled softly when she bumped into him, coloring just a touch. The touch darkened, when he realize she had him by the lapels. Then he leaned in softly and murmured, in French, "...is there where I kiss you?"
Maggi: She did not giggle.. nor laugh.. merely looked up at him her eyes widening ever so slightly... " Perhaps some cool air.. would remedy that need Sir... " a quirk of a brow as she stepped back and bent into a graceful curtsey... turning to smile at the other girls and dip once more toward the Mistress... before moving with an air of sublime grace out the French doors and onto the portico.. a chill of cold air brushing the room as she left... a few moments later would find her leaning against a balustrade.. her hands chilling against the golden limestone then raised to heated cheeks... a few dark tendrils becoming the playmates of the wind.. as it too wanted to kiss the beauty that overlooked a winter garden..

Flynn : For a few awkward moments, the Irishman simply retained his place on the dance floor. For a few moments, all Jack could do was watch as Maggie left him. Quietly, the Irishman turned to face the other girls. He made eye contact with Shaden, a slight cant of his head being all the communication that he needed. Had he done something wrong? Then he bowed toward the group, before going after Maggie.
Maggi: It was if she was a bronze statue in the garden of snow and ice... picture perfect gazing out into the winter wonderland that the grounds had been transformed to.. a soft cloud of breath.. freezing in the air before her.. as chilled palms pressed against her cheeks to cool the flush.. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10.....the door opened and she could not help but smile.. relishing the sound of his footsteps as he drew near.. yet she did not turn merely stood as if frozen in time .
Flynn : "M'lady?" He asked gently, drawing with in a polite distance. There was a hesitation, before he said, "I hope tha' I did nae offend ye, m'lady.... I offer ye an apology, iffen I did....."
Maggi: "I would have slapped you had you offended me... I merely wanted a bit of cool air.. the dancing.. warmed me " was she teasing him a bit.. perhaps.. but it was a good-natured teasing not meant to impinge on his mood at all.. but rather playful... now she turned to him a soft smile... " And perhaps I would wish to be away from prying eyes and giggles... for a time..I love them dearly.. but find the closeness.. cloying" she dimpled then at her confession.. " please do not tell them.. I would never hurt their feelings they are lovely girls.. "
Flynn : The Irishman smiled softly at her comment. There was a cant of his head, "... I apologize, M’Lady, fer warmin' ye show." There was a soft smile upon his features, "Oui... what you say to me, I shall keep to my own council." There was a soft smile.
Maggi: "Yours eyes crinkle at the side when you smile... there is much laughter... in your life.. your face tells of it " she turned now to face him.. a soft smile playing on her lips... " and you fibbed to me..." mock scolding... " you are a very accomplished dancer.. you made me the envy of the Lily tonight " Flynn : For a few moments, the Irishman canted his head softly. Then she would see it. The eyes crinkling softly at the corners in amusement as Maggie made that observation. ".... I did nae fib.... mah leg was stiff through out....." There was a smile.
Maggi: A soft laugh as she looked inside at the dancers now parting and going their separate ways for the evening.. " I should be scolded then.. for bringing you out into the cold... it cannot be good.. for a stiff leg.. " two steps toward him.. as if she would come flat against his chest.. and she sidestepped.. quickly... " The party seems to have ended.. perhaps the warmth of the fire and some brandy would retrieve me to your good graces and erase my errant ways in your eyes?" such a tease.. sapphire skirts swished like a whisper as she lead the way... into the now empty and dim great room.. lit only by a flicker fire...
Flynn: When she came close, the Irishman inadvertently held his breath. Only to find her step around him. He let his breath out quietly, sighing and lowering his head just a touch. Relief? Disappointment? Then he turned and trailed after her, "I think tha' tis I tha ye should chastise.. fer lettin' ye gae out there wit' naught but a ball gown on..." There was a soft smile, "Oui, please...." Then he met her eyes, "but only if you partake with me..."
Maggi: She pointed with an elegant hand to the sofa before the fire.. " I suppose one drink will not affect my judgment " moving to a small covered cupboard she retrieved two glasses and a bottle of brandy.. bringing them to the low table before the fire.. she knelt and poured for them both.. offering his up to him on the sofa while she settled at his feet, on a plush rug.. the brandy left on the table as she stretched her fingers toward the fire for warmth.. another perfect still life, should their have been a painter about.. " There much better wouldn’t' you say?" she turned smiling up at him enchantingly.. " Tell me about yourself Mon Capitain.. you have aroused........ my curiosity?"
Flynn: The Irishman offered a soft bow as he, very gently and graciously, accepted the glass of brandy. "Merci," He said in thanks. Then he reclined upon the sofa, quietly watching as Maggie posed - if such was the proper word - before the fire, at his feet. Oui, t'was a perfect still life. But who would serve as the focal point? He was content for the silence for a bit, simply enjoying his brandy and watching her curl at his feet. Then he smiled softly, "....Oui. Tis much better." Then he canted his head to the side, his eyes crinkling as he smile. "... what would know of me?"
Maggi: "Whatever you would share " she stated simply there were few games with her.. and she was honestly curious about him... "But first and foremost... why you visit the Lily... is it.. Lady Aramoire you seek?" she knew that most men who arrived at the Lily did so seeking the infamous courtesan.. the Flame as she was known as.. and she knew.. that few compared to the woman...but more than that she wanted to know.. what made the soft crinkley laugh lines in his face.. and that twinkle of merriment in his eyes
Flynn : The Irishman was quiet for a few moments, hesitating. Slowly, he would gently turn his brandy glass. Before that smile returned, "....oui... I would pursue the Mmde. Aramorie.." A sip of brandy was taken, to hide it as the smile grew. "... Tis at the lady's on invitation that I call, to provide companionship for her..." She had said she needed that. And this after Jack had said he would meet her need. There was a tease in his eyes, "... but she always sends her hetaera to greet me." There was a smile, "...and yet, I find this arrangement sublime."
Maggi: As he spoke her brow furrowed gently a look of disappointment overcoming her face before she turned back to the flames.. " Lady Aramoire is a most Lovely woman.. I can see the attraction.. she is lucky to have your.. admiration " the snifter was lifted and sip taken.. before he spoke his last line.. "What arrangement would that be?"
Flynn : The Irishman was quiet for a few moments, before offering a smile to her. "... iffen Lady Aramoire had nae sent her hetaera ta greet me, I would nae 'ave found such a graceful dancer -- such as yerself.... Nor would I 'ave been treated ta rare moments such as these." He was quiet for a heart beat or two. Then he moved off the sofa and sat behind her. She could lean against him, if she were bold enough. "... an' I want ye ta knae tha' I apperciate ye are givin' 'em tae me...."
Maggi: A smile creased her lips soflty.. as she felt him move behind her.. her hands lifting to pull free the pins that held her hair confined.. it fell in glorious riots over waves down her shoulders releasing the soft sent of mountain heather and roses into the air between them... " Tis my pleasure Mon Capitain... I am enjoying myself as well.. thought I am perhaps... a sad substitution for Lady Aramoire.."
Flynn : For a few moments, the Irishman was content to let them simply enjoy their drinks before the fire. Then he glanced quietly at her out of the corner of his eye and said, softly, "... I do nae think so...."
Maggi: She turned slightly to look upon him " Ohhhh and what do you think " she was so close. tempting.. leaning toward him as she questioned teasingly taking his glass and sitting it aside next to hers... freeing his hands..
Flynn: There was a gentle arch of his eyebrow, as she took his hand. There was a soft smile upon his features. ".... what do I think?" Jack was quiet for a few moments, "... I think, that whatever the Lady Aramoire's goals... she was not intended to play match maker." There was a slight squeeze to her hand.

Maggi: "Matchmaker... are you sure.. that is exactly what she does.. as a Madame.. she fits clients to courtesans... " she smiled... " do you think you've been fitted properly?" a dark brow arched teasingly.. before she leaned toward him one hand lifting as if it would touch his chest.. then reached across him for her glass.. slow.. and deliberately teasing him.. " Or perhaps you prefer to window shop some more ?"
Flynn : The Irishman smirked softly as she teased him, quietly listening to what she said. There was a soft smile at Maggie's observations about Shaden, with the more practical explanation given. There was a soft nod of agreement with what he said. Then he hesitated softly. The smile grew a touch, ".... tha' tis a question tha' I can ask yerself, M’Lady...." He hesitated, watching her features softly. "...although I dae nae think an evenin' of dance tis 'nough time ta know ye...." He let a silence hang in the air for a few moments, before his familiar smile turned again. "But, aye. Iffen Shaden t'was seekin' fit fer me, I dae think ye are tha best o' 'er Lilies."
Maggi: She withdrew from the closeness between them and smiled softly... " An evening of dancing.. and then a wonderful talk by firelight.." she corrected as she sipped the last of her brandy.. " Tell.. me.. was it a seeking a companion that brought you here again.. you do not seem the sort of man who would have to pay for a woman’s favors... ?" yes she was questioning him.. she was not uneducated in the ways of men.. and she knew there were those who while married.. looked for a bit of rough and tumble elsewhere.. but also she was wary of the men who gained pleasure from the abuse of women.. so yes.. while a night of dancing and conversation had been ... well enjoyed.. she was not one to just.. bounce into bed with any who had coin... Shaden’s Lily's were companions.. not whores..
Flynn : "On tha' tis still on goin'," The Irishman added to her addendum of their night's activities. The Irishman frowned softly at that, not quiet understanding her words. Was she asking if he were married? If there was another? After a few moments, he said, ".... I am sorry... I dae nae follow what ya ask..."
Maggi: "Shall I be blunt mon Capitain?" she asked and at his nod, she continued..." A man such as yourself.. handsome.. with social standing.. you should have your pick of the Ladies of the Court.. your peers... and yet you seem lonely.. and are here... I do not see you as the type of man who...is being adulterous to a wife... you seem to.. moral for that.. nor do you seem like the kind of man who gets his jollies from.. paying a woman for the night.. and only a night.. so I have to assume that you are looking for a companion.. to fill a need ...but.. I must admit.. I'm at a loss as to why... you would ever need to find one here..." she was honest to a fault.. it seemed..as while she found him handsome and charming.. she could not.. believe that he was unattached.. It just seemed wrong.
Flynn : Mon Captain nodded quietly, once she had finished. For a long while, he was quiet. Then he said, softly, "I am... nae used, just yet, ta mah social standin'. ... I was born ta a lower one." There was a soft smile, "... iffen I dae nae catch tha eyes o' tha Ladies o' Court, some dae catch mine. It seems, 'owe'er, tha' I move tae slow... linger ta long.. allowin' another ta take tha prize..." There was a pause, before he said, "There is nae a wife ta be adulterous tae...." He hesitated, "I was ne'er married in a sense tha' the Moslims er tha Christians could understand.... tho I t'was a Consort to a fine, beautiful, an' bold woman... she ' perished in tha fires o' battle." There was a soft smile, "Per'aps tis this shyness .. this morality o' mine... tha' sees me willin' ta dance an' speak wit' ye by a fire...Knowin' tha I shall spend more time wit' ye, e'en shall we enter inta an accord, afore I bed ye... Tis m'way ta go slow..."
Maggi: " I think I should like to spend more time with you.. Mon Capitain " she kept calling him 'her captain' had he noticed.. or just thought she was being silly.. " I think that slow... is best if you are looking for something to last.. a night can be bought but.. a relationship must be built " a soft slow smile played over her lips... " tell me what things you enjoy.. perhaps we have something in common more than dancing , brandy and firelight ?"
Flynn : The Irishman had noticed, but had not commented on her use of 'her' just yet. Before he answered her question, of what he liked, he canted his head to the side softly. Then he said, "Before I respond, M’Lady.... I 'ave a question fer ye..." There was a cant of his head, before he said softly, "Dae ye think ye 'ave been given a good fittin' client fer ye?"
Maggi: She smiled radiantly.. so he had noticed she had skipped that question once before and he put it to her again " Oui.. from what I can tell.. I think.. so... but as you said.. it would take more than dancing and firelight to know..." she leaned toward him once more... " Perhaps.. a kiss.. would give us both a notion of how we would fit " she was so close.. alluring yet.. playful as she challenged him... " What say you mon capitain ?"
Flynn : The Irishman smiled softly at her teasing. Was it a tease? Or was she honestly asking for such a kiss? For a few moments, the Irishman would quietly meet her eyes. Slowly, there was a soft smile. ".... I say tha' I agree wit' yer sentiment..." Then he would lean forward, softly, to gently touch his lips against her own. The kiss was, at first, chaste and polite. After a few moments, he waited her response. ...Before deepening the kiss, although it was still soft.
Maggi: The first touch of lip upon lip was sweet.. gentle..slowly dark lashes closed over the cobalt orbs that gazed teasingly into his.. the response.. tentative.. yet engaging.. moving against his lips inviting him to explore.. as her hands lifted to his chest... palms flat.. nails curling slightly as a soft moan was released... pleasure... her mouth opening to him like a flower opening to dawns first light.. a lily blooming beneath his tenderness.
Flynn: What would she do, when she felt her invitation to explore her lips... her kiss... being taken up? The kiss was again, gently taken up. There was still a tenderness there, a softness to the way he did it. What would she do, when she felt his hands? Gently, she would feel his hands raise up, gently to take hold her elbows. Then she would feel his hands hesitatingly, begin to wrap around her body. To hold her, as she curled her hands into his shirt.
Maggi: Warm hands encircled her elbows puling her forward.. then sliding behind her back.. nestling her closer into him.. there was no tenseness to her form.. instead she relaxed into both embrace and kiss.. willing to dance.. for him to lead... for the moment.. slowly on hand would lift.. winding about his collar.. and brushing the nape of his neck... her dark head tilting sideways.. to deepened her affections... open to him... her tongue teased and tasted playing along at the slow pace he set.. willing to let the kiss last.. as long as it would.
Flynn : :What would Maggie do, when the kiss was broken? She would find that she was still held within the Irishman's arms, that he looked softly into her eyes. Then he leaned in to softly kiss her once again, before touching his brow to her own
Maggi: His brow pressed against hers was met with soft warm hands upon his cheeks.. thumbs caressing lightly along his jaw line. as her nose nuzzled against his softly... " well.. what do you think of that fit?" playful yet questioning. Flynn : The Irishman smiled softly, saying nothing for a long while. Then he said softly, "... I think tha' Lady Shaden 'as made a good fit..."
Maggi: " Marguerite.. la Travalle`" she whispered.. softly against his cheek and withdrew.. a bit.. to look up at his face.. she still had not broken his grip about her waist.. content to linger in his arms.... " you should know the name of a woman you kiss with such ... tenderness" had it dawned on him that all this time.. he had not even asked her name...?
Flynn : The Irishman smiled softly, as he felt her breath gently caress his cheek as she spoke her name. There was a soft smile upon his features, as hearing that. There was a gentle smile, as he murmured, "Thank ye fer entrusting yer name ta me, M’Lady Marguerite....." There was a few moments quiet, before he said softly, "An' ye should know tha name o' tha man who ye allow ta kiss ye so lovin'ly...." There was a smile, "M'name is Jack Flynn...."
Maggi: " I already knew.. " she confessed softly.. " I inquired after seeing you the night you dined with Madame Aramoire..." a blush stained her cheeks as she looked down.. somewhat abashed at letting him know.. that she had. Investigated him... "Though I am pleased you offered it for my use.. Jack " his named was tinged with a French Accent.. that made it sound like Jacques` rather than Jack.. endearing perhaps.. " I rather like the sound of it...on my tongue "
Flynn : Jack, or Jacques as it may be, smiled softly at her words. There was a soft smile, "Perhaps, M’Lady, tha Lady Aramoire knaes us both well.... an' we are proof o' tha match?"
Maggi: " I think she is a very wise Lady.. I can learn much by her example I think.. She seems to be able to predict what people want before they even know themselves... it is a talent to be sure.. But now you owe me an answer to my question.. what is it that you enjoy in life ?
Flynn: Jack smiled and laughed softly, "Aye, I dae owe ye an answer...." He hesitated for a few moments, before answering. "... per'aps I am a borin' man. I dae nae know off what I enjoy...." THere was a smile, "I enjoy spendin' time wit' me daughter, an' bein' wit' me kith an' kin 'ere in Skye..." The rest? The rest he gave a gentle shrug too.
Maggi: "Daughter?" she queried again.. still within the circle of his arms.. she had yet to removed herself.. her hip pressed against his, shoulder touching his chest.. still kissably close.. " How old is she..." it was not a vapid interest in the child but a sincere one.. the fact that he was a loving and doting father shone in his eyes.. and it warmed her.. to him even more.
Flynn : Jack smiles softly, "M'daughter... Seanna... will be turnin' four a month er two after year's end...." Even with the happiness of being a father, there was some sadness, "She tis all I 'ave ta remember 'er mother by.... I always pray tha' I dae right by m'daughter..." Maggi: "I'm sure you do.." the sadness caught her offgaurd.. and pulled at her heart strings.. " I'm sure it is hard loosing one you love.. the mother of your child.." her own past rose up for a moment to haunt her.. but she shoved it far down.. and concentrated on him.. " Seanna is a beautiful name.. a lucky girl to have such a kind father too " now she pulled away taking his glass and hers.. toward the small cabinet that held the bottles of liquor.. " Another?"
Flynn: Briefly, Jack wondered what Shaden had told her. There was a soft smile, "... please?" Had Shaden told Maggie that Seanna looked nothing like her Da?
Maggi: Shaden had kept Jack's confidence as she said she would.. no one would ever know his secret from her lips.. all that she had told Maggie was his name.. and that he was Lord Admiral of the Fleet of Skye... nothing more nothing less.. The glass was filled again before she moved back to his side.. settling once again.. closely and next to him.. should he choose to retake his former embrace.. she would not be... far away... " here you go... if we keep on talking we shall greet the morning.. together.. and I shall owe you breakfast"
Flynn : Jack smiled softly, "As temptin' as tha' is, I'm afraid tha I cannae accept tha' offer..." He raised the brandy sniffer to his lips, "I fear tha' after this drink, I 'ave needs ta return 'ome. M'daughter will need 'er attention ta morrow."
Maggi: "I understand.. and as loath as I am to part with your company.. I would not keep you from your daughter." a soft caress of her hand upon his cheek her profile caught in the flicker flames illuminating her tawny skin.. " I've enjoyed the evening very much.. "

CaptainJackFlynn : What would the courtesans of the Gilded Lily make of it, when the Irishman came a-calling.. but during the afternoon. Instead of his normal calls around dusk. The Irishman raised his hand to knock on the door, hoping - just this once - he would catch Shay at home.
Shaden Aramoire : Gerda answered the door and he was in luck.. Indeed he had caught the Mistress at home.. and unoccupied at least with company.. he was shown to the library that doubled as her office.. just off the great room.. behind a paneled door.. announced and ushered in.. it would probably come as a suprises to him when he gazed upon Shaden.. behind a desk wire rimmed spectacles perched on her nose..copper curls framing her face as she chewed the stew out of the end of a pencil used to balance her ledger books.. a woman.. who accounted ciphers of numerals and handled business of money.. it was almost unheard of.. yet here she sat.. transformed by the seriousness of her endeavors from the seductive courtesan into an almost school marmish prim lady of business.. Looking up as if caught off guard by his arrival she smiled.. " Jack... so good to see you.. come in... sit sit.... I must say we are seeing alot of you lately" her brow rose teasingly.. yes she knew.. he had been seeing Marguerite.. nothing happened within the Lily she didn’t’ know
CaptainJackFlynn: When at last Shaden looked up from her ledgers, the Irishman smiled and offered a bow. "Tis good ta see ye as well, m'lady. Thank ye fer seein' me like this...." When she had offered him a sea, there was a smile upon his features. "Oh aye, I figured tha' ye would know tha comin' an' goin's o' yer own house." He took a deep breath, before he murmured, "... I am 'ere, 'ower'e'er, on a different matter..."
Shaden Aramoire : "Oh?" her head canted to the side.. "and what matter would that be?" she removed the spectacles and pinched the bridge of her nose, before refocusing on him once again.. resplendant in shimmering plum colored velvet she settled in the high backed chair her hands lacing over the small bump of the unborn child in her belly .
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman offered a soft smile at seeing the gesture. T'was a telling gesture, one that Jack had become familiar with after he and Mairi had convinced their own child. There was only a moment of hesitation, before he said, "..... I t'would spend more time wit' m'lady Marguerite...an' would nae feel right, in daein' sae wit'out .... " he trailed off. What was the proper way to say that you want to reimburse or become a payin' customer?
Shaden Aramoire : " Ahhh I see.. " she smiled softly " She is a treasure that is to be sure.. " fingers templed beneath her chin " A very special girl... you know... she is not.. a Fair... lady.. her tone is darker than most.. she is a quadroon.. and if that is the only reason... you seek her company because you find oddity in her skin tone.. I would have to deny you.. I will not see her hurt.. or used for..a errant whim " blunt yes.. she was fierce when it came to her Lilies.
CaptainJackFlynn : When the Irishman designed to speak once again, there was a coolness to his voice"I thought tha ye knew me, m'lady..." There was a slow shake of his head, ".... tis nae tha color o' 'er skin tha' attracters her ta me." He was quiet for a few moments, before saying, "An' ye knae it. Else ye would nae 'ave guided tha' two o' us togther... as ye 'ave."
Shaden Aramoire: She smiled then.. at him " Indeed I do but I would hear it from your own lips.. you would not.. have it any other way than for me to see to it she was protected.. even from you.. " she winked at him he passed the test apparently with flying colors.. " And did I guide you to her.. not me.. I would never " again that sparkling glint in her eye that told the Irishman she knew exactly what she was doing all along.. " I suppose you have a decision to make then.. as to what kind of contract you want with Marguerite... day to day as you see fit.. perhaps somthing more... or somthing exclusive..?"
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman nodded quietly as he listened to her. There was a slow smile, before he murmured gently, "..... I must be confessin' tha' am new ta this, M’Lady..." He hesitates, then said, "What would ye recommend, M’Lady?"
Shaden Aramoire: " it depends on your needs Jack.. if you want something casual or somthing more.. I cannot decide for you.. and of course.. Marguerite will have to agree " a sheet of parchment was pulled from the ledger and settled before him.. explaining the differences in contracts at the Lily.. " A client.. is causal.. night to night basis.. A Patron is a month to month expense.. and give him certain.. preferential treatment.. when he is in house.. and Soul Patron can be up to a year of service.. and is the only Patron for that courtesan.. exclusively.. look over the figures.. for the price.. and the dowry if you should choose Soul Patron... it's an considerable investment.."
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman nodded quietly, listening to her as she described the different levels of clientele that visited the Gilded Lily. There was, of course, a bit of surprise when he looked up at hearing of that. ".... a Soul Patron pays a bride price?"
Shaden Aramoire : "Not a bride price.. but a dowry.." she nodded softly.. " Most of the Ladies here.. come from.. less than noble homes.. have no family or fortune.. Here they are educated and trained to be Ladies.. some finer than those in the courts.. elegant.. accomplished in everyway.. but should they have an offer of marriage there would be no dowry.. to sway a man to turn a cheek to the circumstances of her birth.. or lack thereof.. so I put in trust money for each building a dowry for their future.. of Course a soul Patron would pay a goodly amount of that.. considering he would be taking a year of her life" she nodded as if asking if he understood the concept now
Flynn : For a few moments, the Irishman studied Shaden. And, of course, he was meeting her eyes. Then he hesitated, before asking, ".... M'lady?" He glanced up, meeting eyes again. There was a touch of worry in his eyes, ".... dae ye think I move ta quick in this?" Shaden Aramoire: " It is not for me to decide Jack.. but know.. a commitment of that type is not somthing to be taken lightly.. and Marguerite will also have to agree.." she would not push or bend him either way.. it was not what she was about.. She had saw them together enough to know.. there was a spark.. but a spark is often easily snuffed when not handled with care... it was up to him to tend the spark and fan it into a flame.
Flynn: For a long while, the Irishman was quiet. Then he said softly, "..... I wish to become the Soul Patron fer tha Lady Margurite...." He looked up at her.
Shaden : Then you may fill out the contracts.. and I will speak to her alone at dinner... to make sure it is her wish as well.. you may come by at 8 to receive her answer.." she smiled softly... at him... she would not tell him that she was almost positive that Marguerite wanted much the same... but gave him a wink.. as she handed him a quill... and the sheet of paper that was the contract for a soul patron.
Flynn: The Irishman nodded quietly, softly reading over the contract. Then he signed, careful, his name to the document.

CaptainJackFlynn : When at last it was eight in the evening, the Irishman would follow Shaden's instructions. Although he was a bet dressier, the Irishman found his way to the Gilded Lily. There was a soft knock at the door, a light tapping of his knuckles against the wood paneling. This time, unlike most other evenings, he was expected.
Maggi: It was Gerda again who answered the door.. and showed him into the small sitting parlor " Lady Travalle` will be with you shortly.. there is refreshment on the table " a small cheery fire.. table sofa and a few chairs furnished the room.. atop the table a tray of meats and cheeses some wine and glasses.. she was not waiting.. what could this mean? had she decided not to take his offer? why was she not here? those things probably trickled thru his mind.. as he waited.. Not long though.. soon enough the door opened and she stepped into the room closing it behind her.. a soft smile lighting her face.. gowned in a soft blue woolen day dress with delicate embroidery.. she looked more the noblewoman than courtesan.. long dark hair fell in loose waves to her hips guided from her face by only a shade of matching ribbon " Good evening Mon Capitain " she dipped gracefully before making her way to him.. CaptainJackFlynn: As the Irishman was shown to the small sitting parlor, there were a few thoughts about Lady la Travalle's absence that trickled through his mind. His brow would crinkled just a touch, as he pondered this. Then his brow smoothed. There was another reason that the Lady la Travalle was delayed... The Gilded Lily was a courtesan house, catering - no doubt - to the nobility and upper class. ... couldn't this private engagement serve as a debutante ball? Both for the Lady la Travalle.... and the Gilded Lily? The Irishman had not yet sampled the fine wares that were place before him, simply standing before the hearth as he awaited the Lady la Travalle. When at last Maggie appeared? The Irishman smiled softly and walk to stand before her. As she curtsied to him, the Irishman bowed to her as well. As he did so, he took her offered hand and gave it a light kiss. As they rose, he hesitated. Then he placed a soft kiss on her cheek, a whispered, "Ye look divine, M’Lady...." as they parted. Maggi: "thank you " she blushed soft as he withdrew from the sweet kiss upon her cheek.. " I apologize for being late.. I was helping one of the other courtesans with her lesson and lost track of time " a tilt of her head at his hesitation.. " Please.. sit.. I'll pour you some brandy or wine?" proper manners seeing to a guest before talk of business and all.. correct.. she sank onto the sofa and poured for him.. the chosen libation.. then offered it to him.. unsure of how to begin..she let him set the tone.
CaptainJackFlynn: There was a soft smile upon his features when she blushed so sweet. There was a soft bow, "Ye 'ave no need t apologize, M’Lady.... " Even though the walk was only a few to the displayed food, the Irishman offered her his elbow. Once they were there, he said quietly, "Wine, if you please...."
Maggi: An awkward silence ensued.. and then she laughed.. her shoulders shaking with mirth " I must confess .. I do not know where to begin.. and be... proper about it.. so.. I will be blunt and honest and hope you are not offended by my lack of ladylike mannerisms or coy games " she turned to him knowing deep down that he would perhaps appreciate the lack of games and intrigue... " Madame Aramoire spoke to me this afternoon.. she said you wished to be my Sole Patron...?"
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman would slowly incline his head, gently taking a seat - only after the lady had done so herself. "Oui.... this is true..." He was quiet for several minutes, before he said, "I spoke to Madame Aramoire about having an arrangement as your Sole Patron the previous evening....." There was a smile. She was not the only one who was unused to dealing with the trades of Courtesans and their clients.
Maggi: " It is quite a commitment ..to be sure..." she spoke softly then... " Especially when you have...yet to sample the wares... I fear you will have remorse.. are you sure?" she was actually hesitant herself.. while she adored his company and had found herself looking forward to each evening spent with him.. she knew well her kind was not accepted often and with ease in his social circles.. " I do not want to damage your standing in court... though I find your offer... more than pleasing and would heartily agree.. if you say you have given it proper consideration.." there she had said it.. for the pride it cost her to admit she was something less than the other courtesan because of her parentage.. was an ache.. but.. her fondness for this man would not allow her to be less than foreword with him.
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman was quiet as she spoke, showing ever indicator that was - indeed - listening to what she said. Once she had finished speaking, the Irishman made a subtle gesture. It was a slight movement of his hand, extending it toward her. Would she take his hand? There was a soft smile, "I dae nae see how, m'lady, tha' ye could damage my standin' in tha Griffon Court..." He hesitated for a few moments, before saying, "From what I 'ave seen, ye 'ave been trained in tha womanly arts an' the ways of tha court. May'ap, Madame Aramoire 'as set afore ye an' yer fellow courtesans a 'igher standard than many o' tha ladies an' ladies-in-waitin'... at the court." Then he was quiet for a long while, before saying, "We are nae like one o' tha storied an' older courts o' tha mainland, M’Lady... we are nae like other courts in Scotland...." There was a soft smile, "Our Lord Gen'ral tis a Moorish man, an' one o' tha Captains tha' serves under me tis an Egyptian woman...." There smile grew, "An' one o' me daughter's friends... tha son of tha Duchess 'erself.. is o' Moorish stock." If she took his hand, he would gently squeeze it. "In tha Griffin Court, ye will nae be thought o' less 'cause of how ye look....." Then slowly, he began to rub his thumb in a small circle on her hand. Between her thumb and forefinger, "As fer yer other concerns... we shall approach them as we see fit... an' nae until then..."
Maggi: She nodded softly taking his hand doing him the same courtesy of listening intently as he had her.. it showed the depth of her caring for him that indeed despite the boon his patronage would offer her.. she still thought of him.. first.. taking his hand, gentle fingers curled about it.. as he stroked in tender comfort allaying her worries over the contract.. " Then if you truly wish it.. I have no objections.. and I would gladly accept your Patronage.. " now cobalt colored orbs lifted to meet his a smile of happiness radiating about her like joyous light.. " I will be yours.. for the term you set.. in all ways that you wish “.
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman couldn't help but smile softly, "I think ye fer bein' blunt an' honest me, M’Lady.... Tis 'ow I prefer ta be dealt with." The Irishman leaned over, softly kissing her cheek. There was a touch of blush to his features, as he said, ".... how dae we gae from 'ere?"
Maggi: "If you wish I can go sign the contract now.. for you... or we could enjoy our evening as you see fit.. and the papers can be forwarded to you on the morrow..." her hand lifted to caress his cheek softly before she leaned forward.. not to kiss his cheek but to dust her lips across his... " I shall not disappoint you.. in anyway.. you have my sincere gratitude for the honor you bestow upon me.. and I will cherish you.. for it " she whispered against his lips.. before drawing slightly away just enough to gaze into his eyes... " Jacques`"
CaptainJackFlynn : There was a soft smile as she said that. The Irishman couldn't tell if she was teasing him when he pronounced his name as 'Jacques,' or if it was truly how she said his name. "Ye dae me an' equal honor, in acceptin' it..." There was a smile, a light dusting of a kiss back to her own lips. He hesitated, ".... dae ye wish ta remain in' tha Lily, er may'aps ye prefer ta 'ave a place o' yer own?"
Maggi: A confused look crossed her face for a moment.. and then she smiled understanding... " that is your decision.. Milord.. if you wish me in a more.. secure place so you have no doubts of my..fidelity then I would gladly accept whatever accommodations you see fit.. " she was thinking perhaps he wanted her under lock and key.. away from the comings and going of the clients of the Lily.. or perhaps just closer at hand for his own leisure..
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman realized, as she spoke, what he had unintentionally implied. There was a red coloring to his features, before he murmured, ".... I 'afta appologize..." He took a sip of his wine, "I was nae thinkin' o' our contract when I asked... but m'daughter. I should like fer 'er ta meet ya.... but I am nae sure wether I should bring 'er ta tha Lily when I visit ye... or iffen it would be better fer ye ta 'ave a place of yer own...."
Maggi: " You have nothing to apologize for .. As I said.. I would gladly.. accept your decision in my place of residence.. and I agree.. perhaps the Lily is not the most.. proper of places for a little one.. " she covered his hand with her own seeing his discomfort.. " Please.. Jacques let us be at ease... with one another.. after all we are bound for a year.. we should not be.. so afraid of missteps.. I assure you I am not.. a wilting flower.. who will cry or throw a tantrum at some misinterpretation.." her head rested against his shoulder tenderly.. her hand caressing his forearm over his coat.. " Tell me what you wish of me.. in plain speak.. and I will do my best to see if fulfilled"
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman smiled softly, enjoying the closeness that she gave him. There was a soft smile, a caress of her cheek. Then he said softly, "... what dae I wish?... I wish a place where ye an' I can 'ave such times as we 'ave had 'ere... a place where ye may stand upon tha balacony iffen yer mood suits ye... a place where ye an' I can lounge by tha fire.... A place o' yer chousin'."
Maggi: " that sounds like a very good wish... we should see that it comes true...if you like.. we can go out looking tomorrow.. for somthing that suits us both... someplace where.. if you wish Seanna could come and visit " she was apprehensive about meeting the little girl.. what part would she play in her life.. would be left to her father.. but she looked forward to meeting her.. so many things changing so fast... it was like a whirlwind..she was caught up in.. a dream.. that she feared to wake from.. "I would like such a place to spend time with you..." she was trying hard to contain her excitment.. but it showed in the blush of her cheeks.. the brightness in her eyes.. and the way her hands fidgeted over his arm as if she couldn’t' sit still, but she was trying
CaptainJackFlynn : Jack smiled softly, watching this side of Maggie. There was soft smile, as she held him. As she let such joy, such excitement show on her features. And still, the Irishman couldn't help but wonder what the other courtesans were making of this development. "I shall be honored ta 'elp in in pickin' out a place ta stay... maybe it shall be some place by tha side o' tha sea?"
Maggi: " where ever you wish.. is fine with me " she grinned.. and then stood abruptly as if she could not confine herself any longer.. a few paces before the hearth and she turned to him a question in her eyes... " Can I ask you a question Jacques?" her hands laced before her.. as she waited for his agreement and after a nod.. she continued.. " Do you think... I am enough.. for you... that I'm good enough to be at your side?"
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman was caught off guard by her abrupt rising, by the way she had quickly gone to the fire. At hearing her question, the Irishman smiled softly. "... M’Lady... I would nae 'ave asked Madame Aramoire 'bout this contract, iffen I thought tha' ye were nae worthy o' being at my side..."
Maggi: She smiled at his words.. she was such a mixture.. almost contradictive.. one moment confident and self assured the next shy and unsure.. part and parcel because she had never been treated so well.. " You will forgive my foolish questions.. I just have never garnered the attention of someone so fine before.. and feel as if it is a dream.. or perhaps a jest.. that will leave all to soon.." she moved back to him then.. kneeling before him her hands lightly laying on his knees.. " you must know.. how very wonderful this is to me.." her smile was infectious.. " I want to race upstairs and tell all the girls.. how.. very lucky I am..and how wonderful you are.. " now she teased him playfully.. " They will likely be jealous and upset that you have chosen me.. perhaps I should fear for my life?" of course she was joking now.. her face told the story of her tease.. as she leaned forward from her place at his knee.. " I find myself hard pressed to wait to begin.."
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman smiled softly as Maggie teased him, as he listen to her. There was a soft touch of his lips against hers, "I shall nae hold it against ye, iffen ye were ta race an' till tha other girls tha' ye already 'ave a Sole Patron... I shall wait." There was a smile. At her comments, there was a cant of his head to the side, ".... iffen tis yer desire, iffen I 'ave yer meanin' correct... I would nae be adverse to 'sampling yer wares' now...."
Maggi: It was obvious where his thoughts lay as he spoke a deep blush coming over her cheeks.. " I was speaking of looking for a house.. and bragging to the others, ....but I would deny you nothing Jacques`... I am yours.. complealty " the first part of her sentence was tinged with an slight embarrassed chuckle.. but then settled into a soft sweet tone of submissive honey... her eyes lifting to his... and meeting them with a soft smile...
CaptainJackFlynn: It seemed that, after a while, the two would read each other well. For now? They were not yet well enough acquainted to know what the other desired. A blush of his own came to his features, as she heard her explain herself. There was a sigh, "... if ye feel tha' ye 'ave gotten ta where ye can knae me 'nough, I dae nae think tha' I shall deny tha' iff ye wish...." There was a soft kiss to her cheek, "... Ye can gae an' brag now. I shall wait 'ere..."
Maggi: "I will brag later.. there will be much to talk over over breakfast " she chuckled then slipped upward to meet the kiss on her cheeks.. capturing his lips instead... " If you are asking if I find you pleasing.. and desire you.. the answer is yes... I have since that first dance... and more since our first kiss... I assure you ... I am not merely accepting because of the contract... and money..." she wondered if he feared that.. she was just agreeing because of the business end of their agreement.. and hoped now his mind would be eased... " All you had to do was ask.. of my feelings and desires of you.. and I would be honest "

CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman smiled quietly, nodding softly as she pokes. When he caught her lips, she would find that he gently returned her kiss with his own, a soft touch of pressure. Of deepening the kiss on his part. There was smile, before he murmured, ".... what are yer deries? Yer feelings? Yer yearnings?"
Maggi: All three questions were answered in the kiss she gifted upon him.. sweet lips parting beneath his. Passion flared between them sparked like a flame.. as her hands wound about his neck..fingers tangling in his dark hair... sounds of pleasure mingled in with the desire of the kiss only heightened the answer before she whispered against his lips.. " My desires and yearnings are one in the same. I desire to be yours " lips played across his then.. moving to flutter against his jaw line and upward to his ear... "have no doubt in that Milord. I desire you "
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman smiled softly, gently giving another kiss to her lips. There was a series of them now, against her jaw line. Before he murmured, ".... then ye shall have all ye desire..."
Maggi: She eased back and lifted from her place at his knee.. standing in a swirl of soft skirts and scented air.. offering her hand to him.. " I would think there are more private places and more comfortable ones for.. your desires Milord..." her head tilted sweetly an eyebrow arching upward.. there was no games or untruths of denial the fire that blazed between them.. she was as aware as he... " Come.. with me.. I will show you to my chambers"
CaptainJackFlynn : The Irishman nodded his head quietly, slowly rising with her. There was a faint blush of his features, as he moved to follow her. As he slid an arm around her hips, as he held her close.
Maggi: Outside when the door was open there was a rush of giggles as quickly some of the younger girls sped off. apparently eavesdropping on the lucky Marguerite and her Patron.. She herself could not help but laugh at their antics turning to her escort with an apologetic smile.. " Some of them have yet to have a client as we are not officially open for business.. I think they miss the affections and attention of Men.. Madame has been vigilant in our schooling before she allows us to entertain.. in fact you are truly the first client and patron of the Lily " she smiled leaning into him , his hand slipping over her hip as they moved up the stairs.. turned to the left.. and down a long hall of doors to the last one.. the door was opened.. then she stepped inside offering him entry with a subtle gesture of her hand.. " Make your self at Home Mon Capitain"
CaptainJackFlynn : There was a soft bit of laughter at her words, "Oui, I know.... Madame Aramorie thanked me fer speakin' an' complimenting ye, Jayne, an' (other one here). Said tha' it was tha first time tha' ye 'ave 'ad male adoration...." He was using the words Shaden had. There was a soft nod, as he looked about her chambers. One wondered what the other Courtesans of the lady would make of it, if the sounds of passion were heard from this room.
Maggi : The door closed behind her and she turned leaning against it.. watching him as he moved about her room, it was simply furnished, a wronght iron bed, with sheer ivory hangings, upholstered chair beside one of the twin windows that allowed moonlight to filter into the room.. she moved about lighting a few candles.. and bent to the hearth to start a fire from the tinderbox... " There is wine.. on the table.. if you wish.. while I start the fire " soon enough the cheerful fire was crackling , she rose.. turning to him.. framed in the soft glow of flickering flames... hesitant yet expectant.. it was most endearing the look on her face..plainly she adored the man.
CaptainJackFlynn: As the Irishman slowly made the circuit of the room. For a few moments, he was content to walk over her room. To study them, to know through her room a better sense of who she would like in a dwelling. Then he murmured, "Are these yer own furnishin's?.... Can ye take 'em wit' ya?" There was a soft smile. Once she had gotten up, Jack moved to her. He slipped his arms around her waist, from behind, to hold her close. There was a soft kiss to the nape of her neck.
Maggi: She leaned back into his arms easily tilted her head as the tender kiss was laced upon the sensitive flesh of her neck.. " mmmmmmm " a soft purr of enjoyment " The Mistress let us decorate our own rooms.. but the furnishings belong to her.. there are few things I came to Skye with.. " the downturn in her voice was obvious even though she tried to hide it.. there was much in her past she didn’t advertise.. content to be taken on the face value of who and what she was now... She moved softly against him.. nuzzling into him contentedly.. now the fire had chased the chill from the room..." Do you have your own house.. for you and your daughter or do you live aboard your ship?"
CaptainJackFlynn : "Mmm," The Irishman responded. Then he said, "I 'ave a small 'ouse by tha ocean's side, near tha coast... 'as a good share of land.... I 'ave a large dog, a Great Dane... an' 'ave been told tha' Seanna shall be gettin' a puppy from a dear freind an' a pony from 'er aunti.... I need all tha space tha' I can get." He smiled, "Although, fer a time, we did live upon m'ship soon after comin' ta Skye...."
Maggi: It sounds like a good life " she smiled lacing her hands over his about her middle.. fingers gently caressing... " A great Dane is a very big dog.. tis a wonder she would need a pony" a light laugh as she imagined a little girl upon a saddled great Dane.. " When I was a child I had a pony.. I loved to ride.. if only in the stable yard when there was no one to go with me into the country side.." she shared the memory with him.. the first she had shared of her childhood with any in Skye.. as she realized this fact her eyes closed and she inhaled softly.. relaxing even more in his embrace.. there was somthing about him that she trusted.. she knew.. without a doubt he was a good man.
CaptainJackFlynn : There was a soft smile upon his features, as he felt her relax into him. A soft smile, a caress of her cheek, "I shall be honored ta take ye ridin'...." The Irishman gently guided her toward the small loveseat, wrapping an arm around her waist. He took a breath, wondering where they were to start. He smiled softly, before murmuring, "..... what 'as Madame Aramorie said 'bout this?"
Maggi: "About this?" she looked up at him softly... " Us together.. you as my patron.. or ... if I am allowed you in my room.. before... officially opening?" she was confused as to what he was asking.. but then again.. it was his hands about her.. his lips teasing her.. the sound of his voice that seemed to drown out reason.. and thought of anything but him.. no wonder she was at a loss. CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman laughed softly, gently holding her closer. A touch tighter. There was a light squeeze to her hips. "...About us together... wit' me bein' yer patron..." He had never before engaged in intercourse with a courtesan before. How did you establish the grounds rules ?
Maggi: She nuzzled near him, letting him draw her in..turning so that she was pressed against his side and could look upon his face.. " She though I was a very lucky girl.. and that I was blessed to have caught the attention of such a man...She vouched for you character and said you were a good man..and very highly respected.. " she repeated what the Lady of the House had offered on him, though she had not swayed Marguerite one way or the other..allowing her to come to her own decision.. She chuckled softly at his unease.. "Jacques` you will not.. offend me if you show your desire.. I will not break...I promise.." she nuzzled his nose playfully " lean up..." she commanded lightly... before pulling his jacket away from his shoulders sliding it down his arms and laying it carefully over the back of the sofa.. " you can be comfortable here... we are quite alone".
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman was a good at obeying his command, leaning forward just enough to let her remove his coat. There was another blush as she pressed closed to remove his jacket. The Irishman was quiet for a long while, before he hesitated, "..... I am glad ta 'ear tha ye will nae break, mon cher...." He hesitated, before murming, "... but I am not abashed ta say tha' I ... can be rough...." He sighed. For some reason. He didn't know if this was going well.
Maggi: "How long has it been Jacques`" she questioned.. for one used to command he certainly seemed at a loss.. perhaps it had been far too long.. and he was unsure.. " I will make and agreement with you.. if you get overly rough I will tell you , " she winked.. taking his hands in her kissing the backs of his knuckles softly... " We are new to one another.. we have to learn each other.. but if you do not desire me this night.. we have plenty of others.. " perhaps he had a malady.. of the manpart.. who knew..
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman was quiet for a few moments, a soft frown upon his features. ".... tis 'as been 'bout two years, mon cher.... " He frowned, ".... when Mairi, m'wife, died... she died as we waged war fer our homeland...." He sighed softly, ".. I 'ave nae been with another since 'er loss..." .
Maggi: "Then you will determine when it is right for you to do so again.. until then I am content with your kisses and your arms about me.. do not feel that you must.. take me.. merely because tonight is the first night of our contract.. we have all the time in the world.. " she pressed a kiss to his forehead gently.. " tonight we shall concentrate on learning about one another.. better hmmmmm?" and just like that all pressure and expectation was gone.. replaced with genuine fondness and caring for the man in her room.
CaptainJackFlynn: For a while, the Irishman did not smile. Instead, the Irishman was studying her. Her eyes. Then he smiled softly, "Aye, tis much better....." He slid his arms around her waist again, to hold her close. He kissed her softly, murmuring, "Thank ye."
Maggi: " you do not have to thank me for.. being understanding.. you have been grieving your wife.. of course you need time.. and as I said.. there is no rush.." she returned his kiss in a tender soulful way.. before laying her head to rest on his shoulder... just above his heart... " tell me of her.. I wish to know of the woman who you married.. she must have been wonderful to have owned such a mans heart and soul " CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman sighed softly, "... I dunno what ta say ta tha'..." There was a ghost of a smile. Before he lightly touched the scar on lip, "... m'wife gave me this...."His tongue darting out to touch the scar on his lip, "after she hit me once ta often..."
Maggie: " She hit you?" her eyes widened softly... " why on earth?" her fingers lifted to trace the scar gently before falling back to his chest.. as she wondered if that was what he was talking about when he spoke of roughness " You like to be hit?"
CaptainJackFlynn: "Wha?" The Irishman's eyes opened just a touch, looking a bit shocked. Then he shook his head, "... nae, tha' is nae what I mean..."He sighed. "She would 'it me when I anger 'er..." He sighed, "I tried nae ta do it tae offten.... but tha both o' us were Irish." Compared to Mairi, the Irishman had a slow fuse.
Maggi: She chuckled softly " I cannot imagine you making me mad enough to strike you.. you seem so easy to get along with " perhaps it was the diplomatic French in her.. that was so enchanting or the exotic ottoman blood that ran rich in her veins.. but he had never seen her in a fit of temper.. and yes.. she had one.. though it was slow to rouse..
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman smiled, a gentle smile touching his lips. There was a cant of his head upon his features, "..... one of tha first times she hit me... was 'cause I kissed 'er uninvited...." He sighed.
Maggi: " that will never be a reason for me to hit you then.. because you are always invited " she laughed easily.. and reclaimed his shoulder as a pillow.. " do you have to return home tonight.. or will you stay ?"
CaptainJackFlynn: There was a soft smile, "I 'afta return 'ome e'ery, mon cherie.... I 'ave daughter." There was a soft, proud smile. There was a sigh, "She tells me tha' I 'ave been stayin' away from er fer tae long... I need ta red 'er bedtime stories."
Maggi: "I'm sorry your time here has made her miss you.." she frowned now.. " and yes little girls love bedtime stories... and need their parents to tuck them in.. perhaps..." her voice trailed off slighlty as she pulled back.. " I suppose you should be going soon then.. the hour grows late.. and again she has missed her story.. she should not miss breakfast with her papa` as well " there was a hint of disappoint me.. she would miss him.. she always did when he left.. but she understood his reasoning's
CaptainJackFlynn: Jack smiled softly, gently rubbing the small of her back. There was a soft smile, a caress of her cheek, "Iffen ye choose a nice place... we shall be able ta meet ye fer breakfast, iffen ye like."
Maggi: I would like that very much.. the briar rose perhaps? at what time ?" a look of excitement of meeting his beloved daughter.. " do you think she would like that.. or perhaps I could meet you.. at your house.. cook breakfast for you both?"
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman smiled softly, ".... I am nae certain of tha'.... I dae think meetin' at the Briar Rose tis a better choice..." He sighed softly. "I think ya comin' ta me 'ome might be a bit 'ard fer Seanna ta understand..."
Maggi: "of course.." she blushed.. overexcited had made her offer somthing silly.., her hand lifted to tuck a strand of dark hair behind her ear.. a sign of nervousness perhaps.. " Name the time and I shall be there.." she stood.. moving to the table where a decanter of water sat and poured for herself.. the night had not quite gone as she had thought it would.. strangely enough.. it had become relaxed and comfortable and now.. slightly tense..
CaptainJackFlynn: Jack caressed her cheek softly, "I dae nae dae this outta shame, mon cherie..." He smiled softly, "Imagine that ye are a young child o' four... a strange woman comes ta yer 'ouse an' makes ye breakfast... how would ye react?" Maggi: " I understand no need to explain Jaques` " she smiled turning her lips to kiss his fingers caressing her cheek.. " As I said , I would be delighted to have breakfast with you.. both.. and perhaps a ride.. afterwards for the three of us.. time to get to know her...?"
CaptainJackFlynn: There was a soft smile upon his features, "... oh aye, I agree. " There was a soft smile upon his features, "I dae nae see anythin' worng wit' that... per'aps in a carriage?"
Maggi: "whatever you desire.. Mon Capitain " she nodded softly in aggreance.. she would have even if he had not become her patron and she was now bound to him for a years time.. she enjoyed his company.. and wished more of it.
CaptainJackFlynn: There was a soft smile upon his features, "... we shall meet, after ye have 'ad a chance ta 'ave breakfast wit' tha rest of the Lilies." There was a flirtatious wink, "I dae nae wish ta keep ye from yer braggin'."
Maggi: She chuckled lightly and blushed " though they will want to know of your prowess behind closed doors.. I shall just smile as if it is my secret " she teased him back.. " Shall I see you out or will you say your goodbye here in private?"
CaptainJackFlynn : The Irishman smiled softly, "Tis whate'er ye desire..." He smiled, "... althoughm in public, tis oft tha best for attractin' the eye..."
Maggi: Then I desire both " she smiled a bit wickedly with a challenge in her eyes... " in private and before the prying eyes of others.. " she grinned liking that he would allow her the luxury of the bragging moment
CaptainJackFlynn: The Irishman smiled softly, before leaning in quietly. The kiss, of course, would start off soft. Slowly, slowly, of course, the kiss would deepen. The Irishman was, of course, was giving her a good bye worth remembering... here...
Maggi: Arms curled about his neck as the kiss seemed to sear her soul.. yes it would be something to remember... for them both.. her back arched beautifully into him.. pressing her young lithe body fully to his.. she would leave him wanting.. the erotic dance of her tongue against his.. would plague his nights until he begged mercy for the next time he would kiss her. .. CaptainJackFlynn: When it was over, it clear that they would both be in each other's dreams. There was another, softer, kiss given. One just as precious, as loving, as the first. For a long while, he let her stay close. Simply holding her. Then he smiled, softly, as he murmured, "... I enjoy our kisses.."
Maggi: "As do I" she murmured softly against his neck.. before she moved to pick up his coat.. and hold it up for him to slip on... " I look forward to each one more than the last " her hands smoothed over his coat.. making him presentable before she showed him downstairs.. " There.. you look like the perfect gentleman "
CaptainJackFlynn: Jack smiled softly, sliding his hands into her own, "Only a lady, such as you, could make me so...." There was another kiss. Then he offered her his arm. ".... Shall we make an impression?"
Maggi: The offered arm was taken as they made way down the stairs.. behind them as they reached the door.. prying eyes peer over the balcony behind hands that hid giggles and envy " I think you have made an impression already.. but if you wish to give them something to dream on.. I will not deny you another kiss.." she whispered before the door.. turning to meet his gaze her hand laying lightly upon his chest..
CaptainJackFlynn : Jack smiled softly, then he murmured, "... I would nae object to that..." At the door, he would slide his arms around her. He would hold her close. Not as one held a courtesan, but as a lover. And he would kiss her. Mirroring the first kiss he had given before he left.
Maggi: The kiss had it's intended effect both on the giggling trio and.. the woman he held in his arms.. so much so she forgot.. the performance.. her hands lifting to wind about his neck.. pulling his head down to hers as the kiss deepened.. a soft moan of pure pleasure.. before he withdrew.. this time he would see the passion drugged look in her eyes.. the soft flush of need in her cheeks.. how hard must it be to leave her at this moment, when it was obvious the attraction was so mutual... " Adieu.. my sweet Capitain.. till the morning... "
CaptainJackFlynn: "Adieu, mon cherie... adieu..." He gave her another kiss, another kiss to ensure that the drugged look in her eyes remained. Perhaps the kiss refreshed that passionate look in her eyes....
Maggi: Her hand held onto his until he slipped out into the night.. her eyes watching him until she could no longer make out his form before the door was closed and she turned to face the trio of ladies who were spying on her.. with a soft smile " You should all be in bed " she chastised them.. and then practically floated up the stairs.. without anymore comment.. and yes.. she dreamed of him..

Jack: When Maggie arrived at the Briar Rose, she would find the Irishman and his daughter already waiting at a table. It would only take a few moment's conversations to realize how deeply the Irishman loved his daughter. When Maggie drew close enough, the Irishman helped his daughter out of her chair, "Take mah 'and now." Then they walked to greet Maggie. Seanna would courtesy to Maggie and Jack would bow. Seanna said, "G'mornin'....."
Maggie: A gentle courtesy was returned to the Little girl as they greeted her.. " Good morning Miss Seanna.. " a soft smile was gifted to the little girl as she rose.. "Captain Flynn " her head inclined properly as well in greeting... " what a beautiful daughter you have.." the proper manners of a Lady were displayed, yet somthing in her eyes would let him know.. that she dreamed of him... " I trust I haven’t kept you waiting too long?"
Jack: "We 'ave nae, M’Lady," Jack said. "We 'ave only arrived a few moments ago..." Jack and his daughter had eaten a lighter breakfast before, presuming that Maggie would of done the same. Seanna smiled up at being called beautiful. "Thank ye, M’Lady...." The smile grew, child hood innocence upon her features. "Ye are very pretty...." Without hesitation, the young girl reached out to gently stroke an exposed air - perhaps an arm - of Maggie's flesh. She smiled in thought, "Ye 'ave skin like Aodhan's...." Jack smiled softly, before leaning down and saying playfully to Seanna, "... I think M’Lady la Travallie's might be lighter than Aodhan.." Seanna looked at her father, then seriously considered Maggie for a moment. Then the girl smiled, before whispering (not very effective for a child), "Yer right... she looks more like Ealora..."
Maggie: Aodhan?" her eyes questioned as she looked down at the little girl... " and thank you for the compliment.. it is not often young ladies offer such.." she laughed softly... holding out her arm for the child to inspect with her light touch.. then stood still as the little golden haired girl considered her.. then apparently decided she looked like Madame’s sister the pirate queen.. " I will take that too as a compliment.. Lady Aziem is quite.. beautiful " she smiled at them both , before looking around the partially empty Inne.. apparently they had missed the morning rush... thankfully.. She waited for the cursory inspection to be over before lifting her eyes to Jack... " I trust you slept well Captain Flynn" a bit of tease in the depths of her cobalt hues.. smiling back at him from a picture of perfection it seemed.. How long had it taken the woman before him to dress so immaculate.. fine plum colored velvet riding habit, trimmed in silver, with a double row of silver buttons over the coat to the sweet curve of her waist, flared out into soft belled skirts of the same color.. a fluff of ivory lace spilling from cuffs and neck.. gave a decidedly feminine softness , dark hair was pinned and curled into a confection of elegance atop her head... a little glitter of silver studs in her ears caught the light as she moved.. " So what is your favorite thing for Breakfast Seanna ?" Jack: Seanna smiled broadly, "Aye! 'E's m'best friend...." Da, of course, would smile. Using his mug to shield his smile, he would whisper to Maggie, "The Duchess' son....." Seanna smiled at Maggie's words, "Da..." There was a quick look to her Da, before looking back to Maggie, "Says tha' I should always be truthful... " And she was. Jack smiled softly and teased back, "I did at tha', M’Lady.... I trust ye did as well?" Seanna looked between her Da and Maggie, before deciding that - yes, grownfolk were strange. At Maggie's question, the girl smiled, "I like French toast... an'... hot chocolate?" There was a glance to her Da, tos ee if she could have approval for a chocolate treat. Jack simply nodded, and Seanna grinned.
Maggie: " We share a common thing then Miss Seanna for I adore hot chocolate and French toast as well with gobs of syrup " it was a conspiratorial smile that was given the little girl.. " I think we shall both have some what say you ?" she chattered with the little one as they made way to the table.. stopping long enough for Jack to pull out their chairs before they settled , Maggi arranging her skirts so that no flash of ankle showed, her lips pulled into a smile as Jack agreed he slept well " I did.. sleep well until I was roused at dawn.. by Heather and Jayne.. wanting to gossip " a light hearted laugh.. as she unfolded her napkin into her lap.
Jack: What would Maggi do, as Seanna reached up and gently took hold of Maggi's free hand as they walked. Once Jack had pulled out chairs for all, and helped Seanna in her own, they were ready to order. Jack smiled softly, just enough to let Maggi know that perhaps such talk should happen later.... At least where the gossip was concerned. Seann said, "I dae think tha' is good." Jack had a bit more to order than French Toast and hot chocolate for his daughter and his guest, some bacon, eggs, and sausage... and a biscut or two. Once the order was placed, the Irishman was content to let the conversation flow as it could.
Maggie: She had taken the little girls hand , letting her lightly swing it back and forth on their way to the table. until her father seated them and it fell away... of course she was not going to divulge the topic of the gossip.. she had better sense than that.. was just letting him know he was a rampant topic in the house.. a little wink let him understand she was perfectly capable or handling a capricious three year old, and had enough sense to consider what was appropriate before one.. Turning to the little girl she helped her with her napkin.. then continued speaking with her " I always think that honesty is the best policy.. your Ad is right.. you should never be afraid to speak the truth.. it is a good rule " without though she smoothed back an errant golden curl from her forehead.. " Your Da's a smart man "
Jack: It would be in the afternoon, before at last the grown folk would find themselves a lone. Jack had left Maggi in the main room of his humble cottage, going off with Seanna and Lizebette, Seanna's nanny, to get the we girl ready for her afternoon nap. Once Seanna was in her sleeping gown, coming out holding her hand. While she had fought a good fight, she was obviously ready to lay down. She smiled, and boldly kissed Maggi's cheek. She said "Ye are free ta come back any time ya want...." After beaming at her Da, who beamed back, Seanna waved good night at Maggi and her Da took her back to her room. For a few moments, there would be a soft sound of his voice droning. As he told a story to his daughter. He owed Seanna a few stories after all, then he came back.
Maggie]: She had gracefully thanked the little one for her invite.. and kissed her cheek softly in return whispering sweet dreams against the rosy bloom there.. settled on the sofa she looked around learning something about the pair as she surveyed their house.. and listened to the deep timbre of his voice coming from down the hall.. Granted the night before had been long and late.. and the morning early.. and for a movement she envied the little girl the nap.. leaning back into the soft cushions of the couch.. his voice rich like a lullaby.. she dozed curling onto her side.. her head laying on the arm of the sofa..
Jack: Jack had gotten ready to talk, but couldn't help but let his mouth open just a soft bit in surprised. Then he closed his mouth, smiled, and left again. What would Maggi do, when she awoke - still on the couch- but with a comforter around her? The Irishman had gone to another part of the house.
Maggie: Almost two hours passed.. as she slept soundly.. seemed Seanna wasn't the only one that needed a nap.. curled into the comforter she was indeed like a little girl.. on her side one hand beneath her cheek.. soft flush of sleep on the opposite one.. slowly she roused and woke.. looking about with a yawn.. at first concerned and confused to where she was then smiling lightly.. stretching she rose.. folding the blanket.. neatly... listening for clues as to where everyone was.
Jack: One member of the house was obvious: in the hall, barring the door to Seanna's room, was a great big, black Great Dane. The beast was stretched out on the floor, making hardly a sound, as he stood sentry. As she was distracted, she would feel a touch of lips against her cheek... Jack's lips... and the sound of a door closing. "Mmm...you're up."
Maggie: A soft purr as she leaned into his kiss.. " Yes.. I'm up you shouldn’t' have let me sleep so late.. I feel.. badly. For falling asleep.. how very rude of me.." she yawned again behind her hand.. surveying the dog with curious eyes.. " He is huge " she whispered.. " are you sure Seanna needs a pony?"
Jack: Jack smiled, as he moved around to sit beside her, ".... 'e is old... fer a dog." There was a shrug. "An' 'e's a foundling, tae. I let 'em rest. Makes up fer all the action we've seen together." There was a smile, "An' it seemed like ye needed the sleep....I shall nae hold it against ye."
Maggie: Her hands lifted to see that her hair was not standing up on her head after her nap.. smoothing it down into a riot of dark silky waves.. " We have been keeping late hours I'm surprised your not napping as well " she smiled and recurled up on the couch beside him tucking her feet up beneath her skirts, her shoes still on the floor beside the couch.. " you have a lovely home.. and a beautiful daughter.. much to be proud of.. she is so sweet and adorable.. "
Jack : Jack smiled softly, resting his head against his hand, "Mmm.... I dunno where she gets such fine traits. 'Er Aunti, surely." There was a smile, "... an' I dae nap. I 'ave an office in tha castle." He winked at her briefly. Then grinned broadly, "'Ow was yer breakfast at tha Lily this mornin?"
Maggi: She blushed softly " As suspected they were full of questions.. many questions" she blushed deeper.. " some I had no answers for and merely... acted as if I were discreet.. but to say the least they are all swooning over your wonderful manliness and envying me your attention " she was teasing him.. yes.. but it was the truth the other girls were all agog over her good fortune.. as well as the man who had claimed her..
JackFlynn: There was a soft touch of laughter, a sliding of his arm around her waist. He held her close for a few moments, before kissing her softly. ".... ye are a rare beauty, when ye blush......" There was a smile, as he waited to see how she reacted.
Maggie: The kiss was like so many they had shared before.. returned with the same adoration and sweetness he showed her.. his hands about her waist pulling her toward him. and she easily went.. the kiss the first of the day.. a day spent thinking of such things... soon bloomed into a passionate display that had been simmering slowly since the night before.. hands lifting to play thru his sun burnished darkened hair.. a low sweet sound of surrender lost within the kiss " Jacques "

Maggie: She snuggled into him even more smiling up at him with a soft sigh " I have enjoyed my day with you and Seanna.. it was very nice.. I look foreward to more.." sometimes there was an awkwardness of what to say.. that belied the comfort level she found in his embrace.. a paradox yes.. but she was still in pinch me to see if I’m awake mode.. it was all.. well to good to be true. Jack: There was a soft smile, "Oh, aye. I shall be sure tha' there shall be manny more days wit' Seanna an' me....." There was a soft smile, "Iffen ye wish, ye can accomapny Seanna when I take 'er fer tha Lady Shaden's company...."
Maggie: "I would indeed like that very much.. " she drew back from her head resting upon his shoulder to look upward into his eyes.. " If it is ok with you I would like to continue helping Madame Aramoire with the other girls education.. some of them were not brought up in .. noble homes and need more lessons " she didn't want to sound as if she were bashing them at all but did indeed feel as if they had a longer way to come than Ursula and herself " And with the Lady Aramoire Expecting.. she could use the help
Jack: The Irishman nodded quietly, smiling softly, "Ye may dae as ye please.... an' if you wish, I shall give ye funds ta purchase a gift fer tha Lady Aramoire. Ta celebrate." He sounded a bit unsure at the last. Something of the Lady's expecting seemed off.
Maggie: She smiled " I would not do anything to offend you.. if you did not wish me to I would not.. but I owe the Lady a debt I will probably never repay.. she delivered me from a horrible circumstance and now.. has paired me with you.. for that I will always be grateful.. " she smiled softly until she detected the hint of unsureness in his voice " Is something wrong Jacques?"
Jack: Jack was quiet for a long while, before saying, ".... tis nae my place ta worry...." He sighed. there was a soft glance to her, "What I am ta ask, ye must keep ta yerself...." He hesitated, "Does tha Lady Aramoire look ferward ta 'er child?"
Maggie: A thoughtful look for a moment, before a bit of worry crept into her eyes.. was she merely a substitute for the Lady Aramoire.. was that where his heart lay.. it mattered not they were under contract and she would abide by it.. withdrawing slightly from him to speak she pulled the covers over her shoulders and nodded " Oui.. she sings to the baby sometimes at night when she's alone.. I hear her in her Library or the great room... she loves the little one already.. but her heart is fractured.. I think.. such terrible things the servants whispered have happened to her..." she shook her head softly.. for she dearly cared for the Madame... " tis very sad.. sometimes we can tell she's been crying and other times she seems ok.. but there is somthing.. sad about her..
Jack: The Irishman nodded his head quietly, at first. He worried over Shaden, simply because she was a friend. Aye, the Irishman had been attracted to Shaden.... What man wasn’t?, but she had made it clear that she did not wish his companionship. Eventually, Jack saw that she was worried. Then he said, quietly, ".... Maggi, wha' tis it? Wha' tis wrong?"
Maggie: "Nothing.. tis just some of the things that they say happened to her are so awful.. it's a wonder she can even smile.. it's why I want to continue to help her.. she's been very kind to me " she spoke quietly and softly hiding her thoughts on his hearts desire..
Jack: Jack nodded quietly, although he still studied Maggi for a few moments. Then he sighed softly, shaking his head. he was uncomfortable now. Unsure as what to do, as how Maggi would react if he were to wrap his arm around her.
Maggie: At the shake of his head she looked downward finding her hands in her lap suddenly very interesting.. but being Maggi.. came with also saying what was on your mind no matter the consequence.. " If you are having second thoughts and wish another I .. I would not hold you to the contract.. as it has not truly begun... I understand wanting her.. she is after all.. quite lovely.. and very accomplished.. I did not mean to speak ill of her in telling you of her sadness it was not my place" abruptly she stood.. dropping the covers from her body and moving to gather her shoes and cloak... thinking she was basically dismissed with the shake of his head.
Jack: Jack, for his part, was startled. He was caught off guard, by this abrupt change. Without thinking, he said, "Maggi! Wait....." Would she? For but a few moments, the Irishman could only stand there. "... please.. dae nae go." He took a step toward her, quietly blowing his breath out carefully. Then he said, gently, "I dae nae 'ave second thoughts o'er yer contract, Maggie...." He offered a wane smile, "... we 'ave already discussed where I stand wit' tha Lady Aramoire. An' ye did nae offend me.... ye only tol' me what I wish tae nae. there shall nae be any 'arm in tha'..."
Maggie: She stilled shoes in hand.. the cloak in the other.. and swallowed harshly... taking a deep breath before she spoke.. " The matters of your heart are your own Captain... if you wish the contract still then I will abide by it.. I only offered different because it seemed you affection lay elsewhere.. and I would not stand in it's way.." her eyes found the carpeted floor a moment before she added more softly " because I have a fondness for you that would not permit me to cause you unhappiness".
Jack: "Maggi?" The Irishman said softly. The Irishman walked to her quietly. For a few moments, he said nothing. Then he said, "Maggi?" Reaching out, he quietly touched his hand to her chin. Letting her look up at him, "Maggi... look at me..."
Maggie: slowly she raised her eyes to meet him but it was with no pride or guile only the truth of her caring for him.. she was an honest girl if nothing else.. perhaps a downfall.. that she could not play the games of court as well as she should.. but the last few weeks of time spent with him had both opened her horizons and perhaps a bit of herself to him as she had never before with another.. behind the uncaring mask of a dutiful slave.. there was a woman’s soul that was proud and independent.. and would flourish if given time.. and caring.
Jack: Jack smiled softly, as he looked into her eyes. What would she do, when his mouth opened? It did not do much. It simply close, then lean in to her own. There was a soft kiss to her lips. A kiss, of course, that deepend.
Maggie: His lips brought down on hers was like a soothing balm.. her cheeks flushed from the embarrassment of the moment before now played deeper as his kiss captured her lips.. turning into a fiery passion laden demonstration of his attraction to her.. if she hadn’t worried over it.. she would have never thought he even wanted another.. if the kiss was anything to judge by.
Jack: The kiss was something to judge. T'was the reasons that Irishman hadn't spoken. You could easily say and speak words... but how would you always know that the words spoken were the truth? Better to let actions speak. If she were to look into his eyes? She'd see the same attraction in his own.
Maggie: Cobalt hues lifted softly to him an expression of almost relief on her face.. and then embarrassment.. " I should be getting back to the Lily.. I fear I have made fool of myself enough for the day " she smiled in the way that someone does when they have been found tragically wrong on a subject.. a shy, soft, yet chagrined pull of her lips..." Unless you require more of me tonight?"
Jack: The Irishman smiled softly, "I dae nae.... I dae nae wish ta keep ye from the Lily fer long." He slid is arm easily around her waist, kissing her cheek softly. "If ye wish, I dae nae see why we cannae dine at tha Briar Rose fer lunch er supper...."
Maggie: A smile then as he pulled her closer to him " Either would be wonderful.. you just have to let me know... which you prefer" and then without warning or hint she lifted upon tiptoe to kiss him softly... the look in her eyes plainly saying I am yours

Jack: When the Irishman decided to call on the Gilded Lily once gain, there was a soft smile upon his features as he decided to try a different tact... All of the Lily's courtesans had, no doubt, seen the Irishman leave after spending time in private with Maggi. But had the other ladies of the Lily ever seen him arrive? Jack smiled as walked up toward the Lily, although he did not approach the front of the house. Instead, he came from the side. There was a soft smile. As he walked, Jack was gently tossing a small stone up and down from his hand. And in his hand? He carried two smaller ones. There was a devilish grin to his features, as he tossed the first stone. Whoops, it "missed". It didn't hit Maggi's window. It a different one. There was an embarrassed smile and explanation. A few minutes later, letting the original Lily he'd rouse go back in to her rooms - perhaps to spread the word to her friends - he tossed another small stone. Another 'miss'. Again, the Irishman was 'embarrassed'. Then, after another few minutes, the Irishman tossed his final stone. And, of course, this time it was a direct hit! Would Maggi respond? And would they have much of an audience?
Maggie: The window opened and Maggi appeared.. leaning out to see him laughing as behind her the frame filled with the other girls, it was late after dinner.. and she had assumed he was busy with work and his Daughter and not dropping by this evening .. To that she had decided to play the mandolin for a bit.. then read after most of the girls had retired to their room.. but with his insistent pecking on the others windows.. they had rushed down the hall to her room to inform her.. and she had waited till he hit the target to make her appearance.. " Romeo Romeo.. where for art thou?" she called , hardly able to get the line out for the laugher from herself and the others " You are mad! " she smiled down at him.. holding up a finger.. for him to wait.. and disappearing before coming back.. a fine linen handkerchief floated downward.. perfumed with her scent...
Jack: Before Jack replied, he had a an important task at hand. That of retrieving her handkerchief before it had a chance to touch the ground. What would she do, when he gracefully caught it? Briefly, he brushed his lips against the handkerchief's fabric. What would those of the Lily make of that? Then he neatly folded the handkerchief, tucking it into his pocket. "Ye 'onor me greatly, Maggi....." There was a broad smile. And she would know him enough, to know that he was honored by having her favor. ".... I came callin'. Ta take ye out ta supper, iffen ye wished?" There was another smile, as he watched her - and the others - to gauge their reaction.
Maggie: "I would like that very much indeed.. " she grinned.. down at him a little wink as the girls tittered about romance and the like.. how perfectly the gentleman was courting Maggie.. if only they could find one such as he.. and on and on.. She blushed.. and leaned forward out the window.. " Come inside.. I'll be down in a moment.. it's far to cold to be outside.." she pointed to the snow.. " Even for such a brave man.." her laughter was infectious.. as she closed the window he could hear it.. Then shortly after Jayne opened the side door.. " She'll be down in a few.. just freshening up for you " she smiled and dipped a curtsey to him.. would you like some wine or brandy while you wait?" Jack: Jack smiled softly, once he was inside, "... a small glass of brandy, please..." Jack smiled softly. For Maggi, he was content to wait. Either inside the Gilded Lily, or out into he snow.
Maggie : He didn't have to wait long.. for her to come down the stairs in a graceful bell of skirts.. scarlet velvet trimmed in silver embroidery, the underskirt of a shimmering silver, dark hair pulled up high, then winding down over her shoulder in soft waves of mink like silkiness.. cobalt eyes trained on him as she made a b line to him.. kissing both cheeks in greeting.. then.. whispering against one softly " You are making me the envy of all of them with your adoration.. They think you are courting me " a soft laugh.. as she withdrew.. her perfume lingering to tease him... " I'm so glad you came.. I confess I was missing you.. " dimples.. she smiled so brightly they danced in her cheeks..
Jack: Jack smiled as he felt Maggi's lips gently brush against his cheek, as he heard her murmur her words. She had, he was certain, the most beautiful dimples of any he had seen. As Maggi got ready to pull back, the Irishman lightly caught her cheek with his hand. Against her cheek, she would feel his breath as he whispered, "... is there a reason as ta why I cannae court ye?" The Irishman was quiet for a long while, smiling softly, as he looked into her eyes. Then he kissed her, before all.
Maggie: Cobalt hues had widened softly at his question a tilt to her head as the import of his words sank into her mind... she shook her head softly about to answer when he kissed her.. not the passionate kiss of a man on fire for a hired night... but a tender almost soulful kiss that deepend and lingered.. stealing her breath away... when his lips left hers , dark lashes fluttered open to reveal eyes that were swimming with possibility...and complete and utter adoration of the man who stole kisses breath and reason from her.. " No I suppose not.. " meaning there was no reason she could think of at the moment.. nor any real thought in her head.. how could she when her heart beat so loudly..
Jack: The Irishman smiled softly, sliding his arms around her waist to hold her gently. He rubbed his nose against her own, teasingly, before kissing the very tip of it. Then he said, "Where shall we gae an' eat?"
Maggie: "Anywhere you like " she blushed nuzzling her nose to his softly.. frankly she could stand like this and nuzzle him all night long..and be perfectly content.. behind them a giggle. and she rolled her eyes heavenward for a moment.. " They are worse than children and the least stealthy spies ever.." she laughed softly... and stepped back from him.. a bit..a little smile making those dimples dance.. " Somewhere with something.. sweet.. "
Jack: "Ye ask, M’Lady, an' I command...." The Irishman offered her his hand, smiling all the while at the giggling that was heard from the balcony a time or two. It only encourage him, really.
Maggie: A gentle hand swept over his coat, smoothing the lines of his shoulder with familiarity.. or course all the girls wanted to know of his.. prowess and Maggie had acted as if.. there was much to tell.. but discretion was important.. let them wonder.. but.. indeed. there was an intimacy between the two.. well at least it appeared that way to the onlookers.. she canted a teasing smile up at him " Do not.. tease me with offers that my commands will be carried out.. else you find yourself in a strange predicament" a wink and she turned taking his arm.. " Do not wait up ladies... " she called out to them... teasingly...
Jack: "I knae tha' I will be able ta aquit m'self," Jack said. He caressed her cheek, kissing her softly once again. He slid his arms around her waist, for another few moments. Letting his nose rest against her own. Couldn't they be intimate? Even without intercourse?
Maggi: "Perhaps your flattering tongue would lead you out of any mischief I think " she teased and nuzzled giving him a little purr, oh they could be intimate.. and were.. it's just the nosy rosey brigade upstairs wanted details.. that Maggi wasn't quite willing to share... just yet.. " So where were you thinking of going for dinner...?"
Jack: Jack was quiet for a long while, thinking. There was a soft sigh, "... tha Briar Rose? Er the Bannocokeburn?" As he slid his arm around her waist, he walked with her toward the door. And what lay beyond.
Maggie A soft chuckle.. " I care not where we eat.. or what.. I just enjoy your company.. it could be brown bread in the stable and I would be happy" a soft lean of her head against his shoulder as they left.. a trio of goodnights behind them ushering them out into the night.

Jack: When the Irishman came calling at the Gilded Lily, it was for two reason. The first was to discuss a matter with Shaden, the second was - of course - to spend time with Maggie. There was a soft smile, as he moved up toward the Lily. There was a soft smile upon his features. Ah, how he looked forward to spending time with Maggie. There was a knock against the door. Was the person who answered the door surprised, when he said, "May I speak ta Lady Aramoire?"
Shaden Aramoire : It was Heather.. the soft green eyed honey haired Courtesan that answered the door this time.. and as he had become a familiar face almost a fixture of late he was let in without question.. and shown to the library where Shaden worked over some purchase orders of liquor for the upcoming ball.. the House itself was decorated like a Yule festival, evergreens scenting the air with fresh wintry smell. gold and silver festooned every area it seemed that Christmas had exploded in the Lily.. From behind her desk Shaden looked up as Heather announced the visitor.. " Come in Jack... Have a seat.." a nod of her head Dismissed the courtesan who closed the door behind her.. gently... " What brings you to my office and not to Maggie’s door?" a copper brow raised in question.
Jack: The Irishman was quiet for a few moments, before he at last said, " ... tis a matter o' tha past tha' sees me here, m'lady." The Irishman would accept the offered seat, before sighing softly. ".... how much 'ave I told ye of m'wife? An' of mah relationship wit' 'er?"
Shaden Aramoire : "Not much Jack.. only that she died.. in a war... that she was Seanna's mother.. but you were not the father... and from the way you speak of her... that you loved her dearly... why do you ask?" she looked at him carefully, trying to read his features... " You seem troubled old friend.. what' ails you ?" she stood pouring him a glass of brandy and handed it to him... " I thought you were happy... with your arrangement with Marguerite.. and yet you seemed to have the weight of the world on your shoulders...
Jack: There was a soft smile upon his features, one that showed that he was - indeed - happy with his arrangements with Marguerite, "Ah am 'appy, M’Lady...." He hesitates, "An' tha', in part, tis why Ah am 'ere..." He hesitated. Then he said, "Tha' relationship wit' m'wife was a rocky on, M’Lady....." He hesitated, "She was an Irishman, an' a fine an' lovely one.... but she 'ad tha temper of one." There was a ghost of a smile, "She broke m'nose once...." Then he swallowed. "Near all tha' time tha' I knew Mairi... Well, may'ap tis better ta start at tha beginnin'..." He took a deep breath, "Mairi ni'Tuatha'an 'as held er claimed tha title of Ceannfort o' Ulster since I 'ave known 'er. Tha title tis similar ta tha' of tha Duchess..... wit' similar power an' stature in Ireland..." He hesitated, "An' since I 'ave known 'er, she 'as long coveted Ulster an' it's capital... Dunluce...." He frowned softly, "T'was for tha freedom o' Ulster an' retakin' Dunluce tha' we waged war on tha Anglish, wit' our Scottish allies...t'was in this war tha' she perished while carryin' m'child..." He watched Shaden for a few moments, to see if she understood what he was saying. Then he said, softly, "Tha Anglish fleet now winters at Dunluce.... an' I will nae allow tha' slight against m'wife's memory ta remain as it is...."
Shaden Aramoire : It was amazing sometimes how glacial green hues would thaw... becoming warm and caring as his tale was told... she nodded , bearing his pain with him as he spoke of the death of wife and child.. the look of empathy plainly featured upon her face... her hand falling to cover the softly rounded mound of her belly.. as he continued... " So you are off to war against those who took your wife and child.. ?" she nodded thoughtfully... " and what of the child you leave here... and the obligations you leave here ?" she looked him in the eye.. " have you considered the effect it will have on Seanna... if god forbid you do not return... She stands to loose the only constant in her life .." the rest unsaid.. hung between them in the air and of Maggie?
Jack: Jack nodded his head quietly, "Aye, I am off ta make war upon tha Anglish...." He said, softer, "Tha' ones tha' murder m'wife an' child...." Then he said, "Tis nae a decision tha' tis made lightly, m'lady. Seanna was wit' m'wife an' m'self when we made war upon tha Anglish..." Of course, it went without saying tha Seanna was kept far from the line of battle. "I am puttin' Seanna in tha care o' 'er Aunti - tha Duchess - an' Lizabette...." Her nanny. There was a smile upon his features, "I also want ta see tha' Maggie can be workin' as one o' Seanna's nannies... if she 'as a mind fer it..." He hesitated, before letting his actions speak. Quietly, he dipped one of his pockets. And pulled out a pouch heavy with gold, gently placing it on the desk before Shaden, "Tis fer Maggie....should be 'nough provide a suitable dowery fer 'er... wit' enough ta extend m'contract as 'er Sole Patron fer another year." He was providing enough monies for Maggie to live a year comfortably... even if something were to happen him.
Shaden Aramoire: A copper brow raised.. " Have you spoken to her about this?" she didn't take the pouch just looked at it sitting on her desk then back up to him " Would be her decision to extend the contract.. or not.. although if you wished to place it in trust .. for her.. without her knowledge for the worst case I can do that... but.. if you care for her.. and I think you do... You would be wise to be truthful with her about it.. no need her thinking you went behind her back.. or had ulterior motives.. when you are looking out for her best interest" she nodded softly hoping he understood.. wasn't anything a woman hated more than for someone they cared for.. going behind their back.
Jack: The Irishman inclined his head softly, "I will speak ta 'er, after I 'ave concluded m'dealin's wit' ye...." There was a soft nod. "I dae wish this ta be use, in any means, fer Maggie's best interests...."
Shaden Aramoire : She took the bag of coins.. and moved to put them in the safe.. " They will be placed in trust for her.. with the solicitor in the morning.. it's very kind of you to think of her Jack.. I am not speaking out of turn when I say she is quite taken with you..." she smiled gently closing the safe and turned back to him... " Was there other business.. to speak of ?"
Jack: The Irishman shook his head quietly, "Nae, M’Lady..." There was a soft smile, "I wished ta take care o' Maggie afore I left.... sae I came ta see ye as well. Iffen she tis free, M’Lady, I'd like ta see Maggie 'lone.... some place in private?"
Shaden Aramoire: "of Course... if she is willing which I'm sure she is.. " she smiled and stepped to the door.. sending a servant to notify Maggie her Patron was there.. but much to her amusement.. the girls had already told Maggi and she sat outside in the great room.. her face a mask of worry.. teeth pulling at her bottom lip Shaden turned to Jack and spoke softly " I think you should hurry.. she looks fair ready to pop.. with worry over why you are in here with me " a soft chuckled and she ushered him out.. with a soft smile.
Jack The Irishman smiled softly, "Aye, o' tha I am sure..." He sighed softly, "I worry o' what I shall tell 'er...." Then he walked quietly out to where Maggies. The Irishman offered her a smile, a soft one, and extended a hand for her to take.
Maggie: She rose, her face plainly worried.. taking his hand " Is somthing wrong Jacques... did I do somthing.. " cobalt hues swung to the door that Shaden closed.. with trepidation then back to him... had she not been so pained by the thought it might have been comical.. her hand lay in his... as she stood.. to greet him...
Jack: Jack would smile softly, "Nae, Maggie.... ye did nae...." He looked nerves, as he spoke. Then he took a breath, slowly letting it out, "... tis there somewhere private, tha' ye an' I can meet?"
Maggie: My room or somewhere else ?" her hand gripped his as if she were about to pass out.. what on earth was wrong he looked as if he had bad news.. " What has happened Jacques... ?" she gave him a look that would melt his heart... " Please..." she looked around seeing the girls listening in.. then took his hand leading him up the stairs to her rooms for some privacy... once there.. she shut the door gently behind them.. complete privacy.. the latch was turned... " Now.. tell me what is wrong.. I can tell somthing has happened?"
Jack: The Irishman would say nothing at first. Even though he had been in her quarters many a time, although none for what the other ladies thought, the Irishman still looked about. After a moment, he went to where he saw a bottle of brandy and a glass. He filled them, as he did so he said, "Please... sit down... I 'ave much ta tell...." He returned, offering her the glass.
Maggie: she settled on the couch.. before the hearth, after stoking the fire back to life... and took the brandy he offered, her hand shaking softly as she waited... it was killing her to wait for him to begin.. but she sat still and patient..
Jack: The Irishman crouched down before her, resting a hand on one of her knee's. Then he met her eyes calmly, and said clearly, "....I 'ave a piece ta tell ye." And he would tell her everything. She would hear of his relationship he had shared with his wife. Of Mairi's desire, so near to an obsession, with freeing Ulster and retaking Dunluce. And of her death during the struggles for a portion of Ireland to be free. He told her of the coming sea battles. And that he had entrusted a fair sum of gold to Shaden. To be held, in a trust, for Maggie. Then he fell quiet, watching her features. Wondering how she would react. Maggie: For a long time she just stared at him... then pulled her hands away and stood.. pacing toward the fire... " You should keep your money for Seanna's future.. not mine... She is your family " her brows had drawn together then as she fought to settle the feeling that tumbled inside her...making her feel ill.. he was going to war.. he may not come back...dark lashes fanned closed over cobalt hues.. as she took deep breaths.. why did she feel like she had been handed a death sentence.. as if she were suddenly trapped with no way out... another deep breath and she turned to him.. finding the proper and expected words.. " I will miss you while your gone and keep you in my prayers and count the days till you return " wasn't that what was expected of a Solider lady?
Jack: "Maggie...." He hesitated, frowning softly. Quietly, he watched her for several long moments. Trying to determine if she were speaking the truth, or simply repeating was to be proper. ".... I came ta speak ta ye... nae 'ear what tis proper..."
Maggie: "It is true all that is true you will be missed and I will pray for you" she looked oddly at him.. " What more do you want me to say.. do you want to hear that my heart is breaking and I don’t' want you to go.. should I tell you stay.. and live this life and quit fighting for one that no longer exist?" frustrated tears fell over dusky cheeks... " Shall I be a clinging woman.. and demand you stay.. or a brave Lady and watch you go.. taking my heart with you ?"
Jack: The Irishman said nothing, instead he would walk toward her. Then he slipped one arm around, gently lowering her head to his shoulder. There was a soft brush of his lips against her forehead, before he murmured, ".... be who ye are."
Maggie: As his lips pressed against her forehead she shuddered softly " Don't go" she whispered.. anymore and she might break...completely... " Stay..." it was a plea.. an request.. a prayer... hands lifted upward to pull him down her lips capturing his in a kiss that begged... stay with me
Jack: Jack gently squeezed his arms tighter about her, holding her close. What would she do, when it was revealed that he was the one near breaking? She could feel a shuddering breath pass through him, a restrained sob, at her please. The breath was let out. The Irishman touched his lips to her own, answering her unspoken words with his own. How he wanted to say, how he desired to stay! And yet? And yet... the kiss had to reluctantly end.
Maggie: When he withdrew from the kiss she turned, her hand covering her lips so she would not sob.. to the window she went throwing it open.. cold air, snowflakes fierce winter wind , washed over her stealing away the very need to cry out.. she greeted is as if suddenly the air in the room were not enough breathing deeply... steeling herself.. unwilling to show more.. than she already had...this was the danger of being courtesan.. too often you got to close to a patron.. and got burned..

Jack: Would she moan, as they kissed? Even as she allowed her tongue to dance with his own, they seemed as though they were trying to draw each other closer. As though they were trying to meld with one another, as though they were to let their very forms merge. Eventually, by the necessity of breathing, the kiss would break. The Irishman rested his forehead again' her own. There was a soft, slow, smile there.
Maggie: She said nothing her breathing ragged and soft against his neck.. she trembled in his arms.. there was so much she wanted to say..but couldn't.. it was not her place... and what if she did say them.. and he never came back... would that enough... for either of them.. or was it best to keep her own confidence.. she chose the latter...incased in... if you return...
Jack: In many fleeting moments, Maggie's rooms had seemingly become a home to a silence. A silence that could tell much from the two people that inhabited the rooms. Here, a simple look could speak as much about the soul as words. Quietly, the Irishman stepped away from Maggie... ... so that he could close the window. Before returning to her, before gently sliding his arms around her waist.
Maggie: As his arms wound around her from behind she leaned back.. closing her eyes.. softly her hands lacing over his at her middle...head tilting to the side soflty.. as she nuzzled her cheek against his chin...no words.. only the offering of herselfto him.. in the age old languge of man and woman. Jack: For a few moments, they would simply hold that position. Of Jack quietly standing behind Maggie, with his arms around her waist. There was a slight cant of his head, allowing her to nuzzle his cheek. Maggie leaned quietly against Jack, letting the quiet of the room speak for the both of them. Then Jack turned his head, just ever so softly, and place another - tender - kiss upon her lips. Sealing the deal, as it were. Then she would feel his arms slide from her waist, before her dress and corset began to gently loose.
Maggie: Stepping back from him she begin to undress.. her hands leading him toward the bed in silence... then pushing him back to sit.. she stood before him then slowly.. removing the gown... button by button... it loosened revealing the thin camisole beneath.. pooling at her feet in a puddle of soft velvet.. now she stood befor him firelight flickering off the pristine white shift.. until it too joined the gown.. at her feet.. no arms lifted to shield herself from him.. as knickers and stockings soon made way to the rising pile of clothing.. until she stood before him bare.. his...
Jack: When she had stepped away from, the Irishman had allowed the fabric of her dress to slide from his calloused hands. When she took his hands, the Irishman was silent. With careful steps, he would follow her as she guided him toward the bed. A soft, gentle, laugh as she placed her hands on his shoulders... and gently pushed him down to set on the bed. Quietly, he watched her. There was a soft smile upon his features. One that communicated the appreciation of her form... but, more importantly, that he understood what she was doing. What she was truly giving him. His eyes would lightly skim over her body, trailing after each stitch of clothing that she removed. When she was done, the Irishman was quiet. Then he said, softly, "..... ye are a stunnin' beauty, Maggie.... truly Ah'm honored....."
(fade out..)
Maggie: Her whole body seemed melded to his in sweet submission... legs arms lips.. body all entwined in a shuddering mass trembling as she quieted against him, their breathing ragged and labored.. indeed their voices had probably aroused those in the rooms nearby but she did not care... lips nuzzled against his shoulders as he stilled.. " mi amore.. mi amore " she purred hands pulling threw his hair tenderly...
Jack: "A chroi..." Was the answer to her words, a soft smile given as he felt her mold herself to his form. As he felt her run her fingers through her hair. There was a soft kiss to her lips, before he lightly ran his own fingers through her hair, "A chroi...."
Maggie: A purr of satisfaction drawing in a deep breath content to remain in his arms the rest of the night... and always... she peered up at him with adoration evident in her eyes.. and something more... " what does that mean ?" she questioned.. the strange sounding words he used so sweetly.
Jack: The Irishman canted his head softly and smile, more to take in her appearance, her physique, before murmuring, "A chroi?" There was a soft brush of his lips, "Means 'm''eart....." It was tame, compared to the sensual 'a chuisle,' meaning 'my pulse'.
Maggie: A soft smile and she nodded.. " so sweet" a whisper against his chin as she moved beneath his body stretching lightly, long legs sliding from his shoulders to caress the sides of his hips.. " Mmmmm" she murmured as her hands rose up to push back sweat soaked hair from his brow...
Jack: There would of course be a slight few moments of their bodies shifting, to make a position suitable for the both of them. Jack smiled softly as he played with his hair. There was a soft kiss to her lips, a soft murmur of, "'As been years since I used tha' fer anyone...." Mairi had been the last. Maggie: Curling into his side.. she lay her head upon his shoulder.. her legs twining with his one arm draped over his middle, as if she could not bear to be parted from him for a moment... " I am glad to hear it from your lips now " she purred.. but felt as if she were loosing him to thoughts of his yesteryear and his late wife.. the cover was grasp and pulled up about them. as she resettled against him... " Can you stay the night... ?"
Jack: The Irishman smiled softly, slowly inclining his head, "... aye, tha' I can..." There was another soft brush of lips against her own, "M'Seanna tis wit' 'er Aunti fer tha night... I 'ave nae 'urry ta be home..." Lightly, he brushed his lips against her cheek, "I can be stayin' wit' ye this night... an' enjoyin' yer company as well..."
Maggie: It was in her smile that he would receive the truth of her want for him.. a soft creature so needing of him.. so willing.. what would she have done to see that smile upon his face... the answer.. anything... " I have longed for this time with you " she confessed.. " though my dreams of it.. were far outstripped by the reality..." dark lashes fluttered closed... as she tighten her arm about his middle... hugging him tenderly.

Jack Flynn : One had to wonder... had Maggie ever had an evening such as this before? For the evening was spent in the arms of lover, alternating between periods of intercourse and simply laying beneath the furs and quilts that kept them warm. There were sweet nothings in the night air, as often as there calls of passion.
Maggie: It was just before dawn.. the night had been long and pleasantly exhausting.. her form curled about him lovingly as she slept peacefully in his arms... how many ways could one express there feelings.. without saying a word.. the night had found many from them both... tenderness and sweet gentle caring touches.. kisses and making love until they fell into a near wakeful sleep of bliss
Jack Flynn: The Irishman had slept. And slept well, near deep in his sleep. It was the warmth of the covers, the feeling of his woman beside him, that had lulled him. As dawn came, she would feel him shift slowly. Feel him slowly, surely, begin to wake.
Maggie: Burrowing in under the covers she rolled away from him as he shifted.. making little sounds of protest and pulling the covers up... " too early " she murmured.. snuggling back against him.. the soft sweet flesh of her body heated and smooth against him.
Jack Flynn .]: "Mmmhm," was the only response she could get from him. Anything else would be inarticulate. Slowly, he reached up and began to rub his hand over his eyes.
Maggie: She wasn't getting up.. basically hiding beneath the covers.. her whole body relaxed and willing itself into slumber.. a soft smile of pleasure as she murmured in her sleep no doubt dreaming of the night.. "Jacques mi amore"
Jack Flynn: There was a soft smile, as he leaned down. There was a brush of his lips against her own, a murmured, "Maggie, a chroi....."
Maggie: Dark lashes fluttered open as she focused sleepy eyes upon his face softly " mmmm Jacques.. it's so early;; come sleep " she mumbled and snuggled into him more .
Jack Flynn: The Irishman slowly began to return to sleep, half-hooded eyes taking the room. Could he afford to sleep, once more, within his woman's arms? Or t'was it near time to awake, to make ready? "Mmm..."
Maggie: The last mmmm would find her opening her eyes and surveying him... quietly... as he slept... her fingers itched to trace his lips... yet she let him sleep.. the realization of the dawn's coming catching up to her.. he would be leaving... for war...her loving gaze roamed his face.. memorizing it .. how cruel life was.. that her happiest moment would be wrapped up in her saddest..
Jack Flynn : Would she still reach out to trace his lips, follow the scar that was there? She could see that this was not the first time that Skye's Lord-Admiral had seen such harsh and fierce conditions. And, even with his advanced age and rank, it seemed as though this would not be his last either. For Jack had the idea that, to truly lead men, you would have to lead by example.
Maggie: The though that he would go to war for his long dead wife.. to avenge her.. sat oddly in her heart.. in one way she knew it was his honor that demanded such.. but in another way she feared that his wife would always have the totality of his heart.. where no one else could tread.. quietly she slipped from the bed.. picking up his shirt and sliding it onto her body.. she lifted the front smelling his scent.. as she moved toward the fire.. easing a few pieces of wood to it.. to warm the room before curling into a chair where she would watch over him sleeping.
Jack Flynn: Such concerns she had! Why did she not speak of them to Jack? Such could be learned from asking questions. While she knew more of the relationship the Irishman had shared with his wife, more than anyone else, she still did not have full knowledge of it. She did not know that he had to compete with the memory of Mairi's late first husband.
Maggie Pulling a lap blanker over her legs she smiled watching him sleep.. not wanting to wake him.. when he had spent the night in such rigorous activity.. let him sleep and rest.. even though he had loved her well thru the night she still craved his touch.. his kisses... she would deny him nothing she knew that in this moment.. if nothing else.. she could claim a happy night spent in his arms if he never returned... it was a sad realization she came to... watching him sleep... she had fell victim to his charm.. his tenderness. his gallantry.. and allowed her heart to become entangled.. with hope.. and feelings for him... and now he was leaving.. and may not return.. to honor a wife. who was long cold... and buried.. it was a hard lump that lodged in her throat... her eyes turning from him to the flickering fire.. her face wreathed in sadness.
Jack Flynn: When she turned away, she would have missed the Irishman beginning to stir. The Irishman shifted again, near-wakefulness. The first of his stirring was not dramatic, it was not bold. It was gently reaching out quietly, toward where Maggie's body had once been pressed against him. Instead of feeling the warm body of his lover, of his woman, beneath his arm... he felt only the residual warmth left upon her mattress. The tangle bed sheets that she had left behind, when he felt only the mattress beneath. There was another shift, a frown as he moved. A soft sound of protest could be heard, as he propped himself up on one elbow. There was another rub at his eyes, as he murmured, Maggie?" '
Maggie: the dusky beauty turned from the fire " Here Jacques... " his name now on her lips a term of endearment... " I didn't want to wake you... " she stood moving toward him wrapped in the blanket and his shirt.. easing onto the bed beside him.. " it's still dark.. not morning yet... you should rest " delicate fingers pressed over his forehead as if lulling a child back into sleep " you had a long night " now that smile that was teasing.. and sweet... gifted to him.. she would not show.. him.. the feelings inside.. that if felt as if her heart were being ripped out at the thought of him leaving.. she wanted no such last memory for him.. only happy ones to remember their time by .
Jack Flynn: The was a pause, as the Irishman used his palm to gently rub one of his eyes. There was a glance toward the window, to confirm her words. The horizon did, indeed, remain unlit. Jack furrowed his brow quietly, scooting back on the bed. Both to sit up.. and to allow her room. When she gently ran her fingers across his brow, soothing the worry lines that formed there. Gently, the Irishman would lean up just enough to brush his lips against her own. Then came the obvious question. "Iffen dawn be sae far off...." There was frown, "Why are ya up sae early?" ' Maggi: Her eyes closed softly as he pressed a tender kiss to her.. a little purr of pleasure as she snuggled into bed with him " perhaps you excite me so much I cannot sleep " it was said teasingly.. as the covers were pulled up about them " That and the fire was dying.. the room chilled.. so I tended it " a sweet kiss was pressed to his collar bone.. then his jaw.. " I cannot have you toes cold now can I ?"
Jack: There was a sleepy smile as he murmured back, ".... I'm sure tha' ye could find a way ta warm 'em up, aye?" Jack smiled at the kisses she showered upon him, slipping his arms around her. Then Jack allowed a rakish smile to bloom on his features, ".... an iffen I excite ye sae... can we nae think o' a way to make ye tired once more?" There was another kiss give to her lips, although this one with a touch more passion than the last. Then he laughed softly, nuzzling her shirt, "An' I dae like yer taste in cothin'..."
Maggi: " I got it from a man.. whom has a very fashionable sense about him " she teased back as he nuzzled her collar, and down into the dip between her breast.. the light color of the shirt highlighting the bronzed darkness of her skin in high relief... she laughed softly as her fingers pulled thru his hair as he did so.. rolling her atop him to settle her length along his body.. she seemed to fit as if made only for him... " Again.. my my what a randy beast you are ?" she teased... " I think something changed from the Jack who was.. being courtly.. to the one who wants to claim me more times in a night than the clock chimes "
Flynn: There was a soft chuckling at what Maggie said, as he slid his arms around her once again. There was a slight and playful nip to her ear lobe, before murmuring, "Than did nae sound as thou than' taw’s a complaint... " There was a smile, loving, as he met her gaze, "An' I shall always court ye.... Even if fen ye say I 'aver yer 'eart, I shall court yet." Jack kissed her softly.
Maggie: She blushed softly confessing " It was no complaint.. I have none against your... prowess at all " she wiggled until she was sitting astride him after his sweet soft kiss.. her palms on his chest. curling into the soft hairs there thumbs playing over his nipples teasingly, until he spoke of having her heart.. they stilled almost jerked.. before she recovered her composer " Then I shall be the most envied woman in all of Turas Lan.. to have your courtship for always " her back was to the fire which left her face in shadow.. not allowing him to see the quick whisp of sadness there.
Jack Flynn: There was a faint wince, as she nearly pulled on his nipples. There was a cant of his head, as he looked up at her. She could see his eyes trying to penetrate the shadows, to study her features. Quietly, the Irishman propped himself up once more. He reached out, ever so quietly, to caress her cheek. "Maggie?" There was a hesitation, "Wha' tis it?"
Maggie: Her features softened.. as she leaned down her lips brushing over his face.. " I want you to have only joy this night mi amore... let us not spoil it.. my heart is only already missing you.. that is all.. but love me well now.. and I shall be happy " she seemed to soak into him, every pore.. blessed with the gentle love she gave him.. like a soothing balm.. strong and refreshing she wanted him to not have a worry for her while he was in battle..
Jack Flynn: For a few minutes longer, the Irishman searched her face. Before he leaned up... and kissed her. Kissed her lovingly, tenderly, and passionately. As she wanted to soothe his own worries, Jack wanted to sooth her's as well. He caressed her cheek, using it to bringing her into the kiss. Then he murmured, "I shall love ye, Maggie, this night an' always...." Another soft kiss. "Iffen ye are tha' excited... ye may dae ta me as ye wish...."
(it gets hazy here…..sometime later)
Maggie: They rolled to the side.. as his hand caressed the flat plain of her belly... " When you became my patron.. I started the tea.. it keeps you from having a baby " she blushed a bit.. her hand caressing the back of his lightly " you do not need to worry.. about that..there will be no children... " unlike most Madame Shaden cared for her Lilies well.. they were inspected monthly by healers for their health.. and giving teas to make assure they suffered no unwanted pregnancies.. Most Madams did not go to that trouble .. using the method of crude sterilization that often left the Courtesan with horrible infections.. unable to ever bare children.. or worse.. death.. and some.. just did nothing.. and when the children were born they were drowned or smothered... it was not the way of the Lily.. nor it's Mistress to harm anyone.. be it courtesan or unwanted child... she had seen far to much of that in her time.. and gladly paid the premium price for the healers tea that prevented such
Jack: Jack nuzzled Maggie's back softly, between her shoulder blades. While it allowed him to show affection, it also allowed him to hide his smile. Had she honestly thought that such an event has her carrying his child was something that he would have found disgraceful? There was a few moments hesitation, as he softly kissed her shoulder. Some part of Jack's mind did worry then, but not over an unwanted baby.... but over what would happen, when he next spoke. Were the Lilies allowed to break contracts? To divorce themselves, as it were, from their patrons? Then he began speaking softly, "What if...." There was a soft kiss placed to her shoulder blade, before he rested his chin on her shoulder, "... what iffen yer patron wanted a child by ye?"
Maggie: She stiffened.. and stilled for a long moment.. then drew a ragged breath sliding from the bed.. jerking the sheet around her.. " You want a child that is why.. you chose me ".. the words were carefully measured yet the anger behind them was palpable, like a Greek goddess rising.. a warrior woman she turned and faced him down.. " I have the skin of a slave but I am no longer one.. I am not a brood mare.. to bear children for others to take and raise as their own.. children of mine will know me as a mother.. " she assumed he wanted a child like Seanna.. to raise as his own a sibling.. and it rankled her to no end.. broke her heart.. that she had misjudged him so.. that she was a fool.. tears shimmered in her eyes as her chin lifted a notch... " IF that is what you wanted ... you should have spelled it out and saved yourself the time"
Jack: The Irishman furrowed his brow at her stiffing. Barely had he time to even open his mouth, to question what was wrong, before she slid from the bed -- taking the sheets with her. The Irishman only had time to verbalize the word "Wha?" And then she was speaking. The anger behind the words she spoke, the way that she looked down at him, took him a back. Was there even a hit of hurt in his eyes? From the anger in her voice, the Irishman was afraid. Afraid that she would terminate the accord that had secured them to each other. To hide this, this momentary weakness, the Irishman let his face hardened. His eyes, which had once been warm, cooled. For a long while, he was quiet. Then he began speaking, quietly, ".... Dae ye truly think tha' I am tha' callous? Tha much o' a wretch, tha' I would be takin' a child from its mother?" The Irishman rose from the bed, every inch as impressive as she had seen him before. But the warm that he had displayed, so readily and openly, was gone. "Tis twice now tha' I 'ave been challenged upon m'reasons fer choosin' ta be yer Sole Patron.... tha Lady Aramoire was clear tha' she would nae allow it iffen she thought tha' I chose ye solely upon tha color o' yer skin. An' now? Now ye be challengin' me, fer what ye believe...." There was a moments pause, as he watched her. Then he said, "Dae ye think tha' I am sae callous? I knae well what becomes o' a child wit'out 'er mother.... m'Seanna 'as 'ad many a nights o' cryin' fer 'er mother, wantin' 'er back. An' dae ye know 'ow it feels ta be 'elpless? I would ne'er put a child through such a thin'." Did she understand him? What he said? Slowly, the Irishman allowed his features to thaw, to begin to approach the Jack that she had know before now. Then he would walk to her, reaching out to caress her cheek. To look into her eyes, ".... If I were ta 'ave a child by ye, Maggie, t'would nae be from tha' sake o' havin' a child. Dae ye think tha' I speak falsely, when I be sayin' tha' I would court ye now an' fere'er? I did nae. Iffen I would 'ave a child by ye, I would nae take it from ye... an' hope tha' ye would allow me ta 'ave a part in its life..."
Maggie: She stood there clutching the sheet as he advanced on her.. not a flinch as his tone and demeanor became hard and cold.. she had suffered beatings before.. and would likely again.. her jaw clenched slightly as he questioned her upon her thoughts of him...nothing was said as he continued talking... she looked as high strung as a hunters bow about to snap.. a bronzed statue..still... as he moved toward her.. he would see the facade had cracks in it.. the shimmering unshed tears.. the tremble of her bottom lip... as he touched her it was if he melted the ice queen before him.. she visibly softened.. her eyes closing.. before her head dropped.. in shame.. " I'm sorry.. I did not understand.. " she knelt before him her dark head bowed submissively... now the tears fell unchecked like warm rain upon his bare feet.. " I placed my own life's.. miseries in your actions.. it was not right...you have shown me nothing but kindness.." a strangled sob.. as she knew she would likely be dismissed for her angry outburst.. and that was the last thing she wanted at all .
Jack: The Irishman was quiet for a moment, letting her tears - in a way - wash his bare feet. "Maggie...." He said softly. There was a cant of his head, wondering if she would look up at him. "Maggie.... please...." He reached down to caress her cheek, "Dae nae beseach me sae... Please.. Rise...."
Maggie: She rose as bade.. and stood before him looking at his chest " My mother was an ottoman slave... as was her mother before her... she passed from camp to camp on the campaigns... and when she would bare a child.. if it were a girl..it was left by the road.. food for the camp dogs... if it were a boy.. she nursed it until it walked.. and it was sold...to the highest bidder... when my father bought her... and brought her to France.. I was the first and only child she had ever kept.. one time I asked her how many... brothers and sisters I had.. before me.. she said she could not count higher than her fingers.." it was then her eyes lifted to him... " I do not think you a callous man.. or a man who would do such things... I have no excuse for my reaction...other than.. the fact that... I ... I... feel as if .. my life begun the night you danced with me... and I fear it will end... all to soon.. and I dread it with all my being" Jack: The Irishman could say nothing to what she told him. What could one say to such heart ache, such suffering? It would, clearly, not be okay. While the Irishman had said nothing, he did wrap his arms around her. The Irishman did bring her into him once more, gently putting her head on his bare chest. There was a soft kiss of her forehead, a before resting his chin on top of her own. Then he would raise his head, wipe her shed tears from her features, and kissed her. The way he kissed her, it was a loving kiss. A tender kiss. One that understood her pain. One that tried to give her a balm for it. Then he broke the kiss, "... I did nae know tha' ye felt tha' way, Maggie...." He gently cupped her cheek in his hand, "... I dae nae, tha' from tha first moment tha' I saw ye, I t'was smitten wit' ye. Tha' I could nae wait ta see ye again. All tha' I 'ave said tha' tis tender, tha' tis romantic, tha' I 'avesaid ta ye... 'as been 'ow I feel." There was another kiss. "I love ye, Maggie..." Maggie: It was too much... from anger, to shame, to sadness to pure bliss.. he loved her.. it was unbelievable.. so much so it was like a shock to her system.. she blinked up at him.. with eyes so wide they looked comical.. " Jacques.. I..." and then she fainted dead away... in his arms... poor girl...

Jack: What would the ladies of the Lily make of it, as the Irishman returned once again to their home? And yet, this time, the Irishman wasn't alone. As he drew closer to the Lily, the Irishman would smile down at his daughter. Jack reached down to rest his hand on Seanna's back, between her shoulder blades, as they moved forward. The poor girl! She was near doubled over backward, carrying her gift to Maggie: an adult cat. The Irishman smiled, "I think tha' she'll like it, dun ye?" Seanna beamed up at her Da, before she paused. She had to stop and adjust her grip on the squirmy cat. Jack laughed softly at that, helping his daughter. "'Ere... iffen ye put yer 'and on it's bottom, t'wont slide down..." They were, of course, expected.
Maggie: It was Gerda who opened the door and showed them into the dinning room where a cheery fire blazed and some of the occupants of the Lily lingered over Breakfast.. Heather, Jane and Mary.. what Gerda referred to as the three sweet petites.. along with Maggi. sat quietly eating and talking about fabrics and the upcoming ball.. upon Jacks and Seanna's entrance all four stood.. " Jack.. how wonderful.. you in time for a late breakfast.. and Seanna..." her eyes moved to the wiggling mass of brown and white fur in the little girls arms.. before she rounded the table toward them... kneeling down to inspect the wiggling half grown kitten.. " And who do we have here.. your friend ?" a soft warm smile was doted on the little girl... The other Lilies looking on with that ohhhhh how sweet look pasted on their face.. Meanwhile Chloe.. Gerda's least favorite watched from the door.. thinking she should gag herself on the sweetness..
Jack: The Irishman smiled softly, offering a bow to all of the women - namely Greta, Heather, Jane, and Mary - first, "M'ladies.... may I introudce ye ta m'daughter, Seanna?" There was a soft smile at the way the women wanted to fawn over Seanna. Jack gave his beloved a brush of lips against her cheek. Seanna smiled cheerfully up at Maggie, saying, "Dunno!" Dunno? "'E is fer ye, m'lady... tis a gift fer the Yule seasons...." She smiled, and transfer the half-grown kitten into Maggie's arms. "Careful," Seanna as she handed the kitten over, "'E scratches...." Indeed, Seanna's arms did show one or two faint scratches. Strangely, Seanna did not seem to mind having been scratched.
Maggie: For Me ?" she took the kitten smiling brightly a pool of azure wool around the little girls feet beside where she knelt.. " ohhh Seanna.. how did you know what I wanted.? " she cuddled the kitten securely.. " Have you been talking to St. Nick.. did you peek at his list?" The kitten held aside she hugged the impish child softly.. nuzzling her gently on the ear to tickle her.. " ohh but he has no name.. that is a shame isn’t' it.. " she held the kitten up looking at him intently then a smile brightened her face.. " I know.. we are going to name him.. somthing you and I both love... " she looked up at Jack with a teasing grin.. then turned back to the little girl... " Coco... he looks like coco and marshmallows don’t' you think?"
Jack: Jack smiled back from where he was talking with the other Lilies, allowing Maggie and his daughter some time together. When Maggie had asked Seanna how the young girl had known had wanted, Seanna had refused to say. She had, of course, beamed at her Da.. Hearing Maggie's words, Seanna beamed, "Oh, I adore coco!" There was a smile upon her features, as she gently scratched the kitty between the ears. "'E 'even looks like coca an' marshallows, dun 'e? 'Cept wit'out tha' mug...." She was right!
Maggie: "Well would you like some now" her eyes held that conspiratol glance at the little one.. "Gerda just made a fresh pot of coco and there is no way I can drink it all... and we have pancakes with syrup too " she grinned standing and taking the little girls hand leading her around to her seat and helping her up.. then settling next to her.. just like a child herself.. she put the kitten on the table and poured out a bit of milk in a saucer for him... grinning at Seanna with a wink.. as she put some pancakes on a plate and settled them before her.. " Of course your Da can have some too " she looked up and smiled at him.. Heather meanwhile. Almost seemed ready to faint at the sight of the cat on the table.. gathering her plate she nudged Mary and Jayne.. " I think we have dancing lessons.. in the ball room.. yes ?" blatant lets leave them alone look .
Jack: There was a soft smile as he heard the ladies excusing themselves, there was a smile, "G'day ta ye ladies.... I dae 'ope ye 'ave a good dancin' lesson...." He would sit opposite Maggie and Seanna, being polite in the way he helped himself to some pancakes, eggs, and sauge. For him, it'd be a touch of coffee instead of coco. There was a smile, as he watched the two.
Maggie: A napkin tucked into the little girls lap it was a frown that etched her face as she realized the table was much to tall.. " Stay right there and watch coco. I'll be right back" and with that she disappeared into the kitchen.. giving Jack a moment with his daughter and in search of a pot that would serve as a booster seat.. Jack: Jack hid his smile behind his coffee mug, before turning to the task of watching over Seanna. There was a smile upon his features, as he began talking with the upcoming Yule seasons and getting to spend time with her Aunti while Da 'went a way'.
Maggie: She returned.. picking the little one up with a soft playful nuzzle of golden curls.. and putting the pot beneath her bottom " There you go.. much better huh?" a grin.. as she poured the kitten a bit more milk and settled a cup of coco before Seanna.. " Her Auntie.. the duchess .. that is where Seanna is staying ?" she looked up her pancakes half way to her mouth.. the bite stalled
Jack: The Irishman hesitated for a few moments, before slowly incling his head. "An' iffen tha Duchess an' tha Duke are busy, I shall 'ave ta find antoher ta watch o'er her..."
Maggie: "I see " the pancakes were popped into her mouth and she chewed thoughtfully... then looked down at the child with a soft smile leaning over to cut up some of her food for her when the little one had trouble.. she would not question further in front of Seanna.. though she did have a question about perhaps visiting the little one.. if he thought it were appropriate.. but she wouldn't voice in.. just in case it were not.. no need to offer somthing to a child if it were not allowed... Jack: It seemed as though Maggie should voice her questions more. Seanna beamed up at Maggie, "Thank ye!" Even for such a young child, Seanna was still independent. She would always do what she could, only turning to an adult if she couldn't finish it on her own. Seanna smiled, before saying, hesitantly, ".... Thank ye fer invitin' us over." There was a glance to her Da, before rushing out, "Can ya come o'er to our house some time?"
Maggie: There was that question.. how to answer without putting Jack in a spot.. of looking badly.. if he didn’t want her at his home with Seanna while he was gone.. " we'll see... " she murmured taking another bite.. then lifting the kitten off the table when it begin to mew and meow.. wanting down.. placing it in her lap it curled up under her petting and snoozed... "I think he needs a collar perhaps we can go look in my old jewelry box and see if we can find somthing after breakfast maybe ?" now she choose to look up at Jack with a soft smile.. was she doing ok?
Jack: Jack smiled softly, incling his head just a bit. She was, indeed, doing better. After a few a moments, he said, "Ye are more than welcome at our 'ome, Maggie. E'er since ye came tha first time."
Maggie: "Then yes.. I'll come and visit whenever you wish.. " she grinned down at the little girl who grinned back.. then they both turned those grins upon him.. how lucky he must feel to have made both so happy in one little phrase
Jack: Jack grinned back at them both, smiling quietly, was he watched the two of them. After what they had spoken of the last time he had stayed the night, did she truly believe that he would keep Maggie way from Seanna? It would only take a few visits before he was satisfied that Seanna and Maggie were hitting it off.
Maggie: Breakfast finished and the dishes cleared.. She looked at Jack with a soft smile.. " Do you mind if we go up to my room and look for a color for Coco.. you can come with?" her eyes dances with happiness.. this was the first time they had seen each other since the previous night.. he loved her... she could hardly believe the words.. had passed out upon hearing them.. thought granted the nights exercise had been partially to blame perhaps.. and when she had awoke... he had been there smiling down at her like a lovesick fool.. much like she was too him.. dressed in full uniform.. and late for a meeting.. yet he waited for her to rouse... even if it made him late.. to make sure she was alright.. and a quick.. kiss.. So happy she had been all morning.. and now with him and Seanna she fairly glowed.. with joy... " Did you see the tree in the great room with all the decorations ?" she asked the little girl as they walked thru the house.
Jack: "Uh-huh!" She said, beaming, "It is a very pretty tree...." There was a moments pause, before the poor girl mumbled, "... I was gonna 'elp Da put up a tree this year, but I wanted Aodhan ta see it..." Perhaps that was when Maggie would realize that Seanna was carrying a toy knight, clutched protectively to her. Even while she had been eating, the toy knight had been close at hand.
Maggie: "Ohh you haven’t put up your tree yet?" she frowned at Jack.. over Seanna's head with question " Perhaps I can help put up the tree and Andhon can see it when he comes to visit " Maggi knew nothing of the child’s abduction.. and was putting her foot royally in her mouth
Jack: Seanna frowned softly, looking down more, the toy knight was held tighter to her chest. Seanna reached up with one hand, sliding her hand into one of Maggie's. There was a squeeze, ".... I dun wanna talk 'bout it no more..." Jack meet Maggie's eyes, and offere a slight shake of his head. Perhaps when they put Seanna down for a nap.
Maggie: "ok ok sweeti" she knelt and hugged her tightly... her hands sweeping over her golden curls.. " lets go find coco a collar shall we..?" Seanna's hand in one hand the kitten in the other they headed upstairs to her room.. once there she and Seanna settled on the perfectly made up bed ( not a hint of what had happened the night before ) and a small chest of costume jewelry was pulled out.. some pieces broken and some new.. and opened both Maggie and Seanna digging thru it finding the perfect strand of faux pearls then looking for a pendant.. Maggie helping Seanna try on some of the baubles " Ohh Miss Seanna you look marvelous" she giggled playfully Jack almost forgotten in their fun.
Jack: Jack smiled, not caring to have been forgotten. At one point, it seemed as though Coco wanted to help pick out her color. The half-grown kitten had begun pawing for the costume jewelry, turning up a few pieces of jewelry that were tried on either Coco or Seanna. There was a laugh from Jack as he watched them play, seating himself away from the two so the girls could bond. As they played, Seanna began to brighten up once more. But still the toy knight was close.
Maggie: Soon enough both kitten and little Miss were decked out in the finest Maggie had to offer.. Seanna had played in front of the long mirror for some time trying on this and that.. even some hats that Maggie had pulled down for her to play with.. everyone and a while she would look over at Jack with a grin.. a little look that would make his heart jump perhaps.. until the little girl and the kitten had curled up on the bed napping soundly... This was when Maggie would cover them.. and move to stand behind the Chair Jack resided in.. leaning down and teasing his ear with a kiss.. " I think I would love.. her even without loving you.. " admission... confession...
Jack: Jack had watched for a time, laughing as both Seanna had teased the cat. It had been louder when Maggie had told Seanna to stop -- because she was doing it wrong. There was a shake of his head, having the aforementioned scarf in his hand. There was a smile, "I dun think yer poor scarf shall e'er be tha' same..." When the kiss came? He smiled softly, "Tis good...." He leaned his head back, to look up at her, "'Cause I know tha' she shall feel tha same way o' ye..." He patted his lap, inviting her have a seat in his lap. As she did so, he was quiet for a few moments. Then he murmured, quietly, "... tha' reason tha' Seanna doesn't wanna talk 'bout Aodhan, tis because 'e has been kidnapped..." He was quiet for a while.
Maggie: "Kidnapped by whom ?" Maggie knew little about the affairs of the Court, but knew that the Duchess was Aodhan's mother.. " The poor woman must be outta her mind" her face mirrored his worry.. " Poor Seanna.. her best friend" her words trailed off as she looked at the little girl sleeping clutching the toy solider... " oh Jack is there nothing to be done.. to get him back.. anything ?"
Jack: This was complicated. Then he said, carefully, "Yer discrestio this t'will be appreciate... tho it be somethin' o' an open secret." He watched her quietly, "'E was kidnapped by Lord Maulbery, taken ta Glasglow...." He hesitated, "Tis why I 'ad tha' meetin' this mornin'. Ta meet wit' tha Duke..." So he wasn't going to Dunluce. He would raiding Glasglow instead.
Maggie: "So you are going to aid in his rescue I take it ?" she smiled softly.. and then looked back at the sleeping child... " I would think you would do nothing less than search the ends of the earth for him... to see her happy once more... " her arms settled around his neck as she snuggled into his lap... " You are a good Man mi Amore` your daughter is lucky for you to be her father " a soft kiss was planted to his cheek.. " How can I help you ?" she wanted to help.. it was important to her to see the little girl happy once more too.. " Anything you ask will be done.. for you both "
Jack]: There was a slight nod of his head, "Aye.... aid in 'is rescue." There was a touch of coldness, "Or bring vengeance upon whoe'er 'urt him..." Much as the Duke himself desired. Then he smiled, softly, "MMmhm... betwixt ye an' me? Seanna tis sweet on young Aodhan...." When she asked how she could help? He hesitated. Then he said, softly, "Aodhan t'was taken from tha' castle by secret passages in tha walls... Seanna 'as been stayin' wit' 'er Aunti, but tis 'avin' night mares... I will ask Cap'n Ealora 'bout it, but I think tha' per'aps she should 'ave other places ta gae, sae tha' she is nae always in tha castle... where Aodhan was taken from."
Maggie: "If it's not out of Place ... Jack.. I could stay with her.. when your not home.. it would be somewhere she felt safe.. if you... wish it.. I would be happy to help... and watch over her" she drew back looking at him softly " perhaps it is a good choice to keep her in her own surroundings?"
Jack: The Irishman nodded his head softly, smiling, "I dun nae mind tha'.... Lizabette shall be at tha' house as well..." He kissed her chin softly, "But I shall still like 'er ta travel... bein' wit' Ealora's adpoted girl child shall dae 'er good, as well bein' wit' 'er Aunti...."
Maggie: She nodded softly... " I will do whatever you wish.. I only want to help " she snuggled into his arms and kissed his chest.. fingers playing thru his dark hair...softly.. "I will miss you but I will see she is taken care of .. you do not have to worry.. "
Jack: Jack smiled softly, "I am 'er Da, Maggie.... I alawys 'afta worry...." He sighed, "I worry tha' she grows up tae fast... until our first trip ta Scotland, m'daughter did nae knae tha' people were treated different on account o' 'avin' darker skin...."
Maggie: "The world is a cruel place Jacques... but with you as her father.. and those who love her to guide her she will grow up strong and true like her father..." her fingers caressed his cheek soflty... "Children are the best parts of their parents.. and hold the hope of the future.. Look at her... she's amazing.. smart little girl who loves easily and enjoys life.. you have done well.. despite what fate has sent your way and hers... it is a good thing you have done raising her as your own..." she whispered softly against his cheek.
Jack: "It tis 'ard...." There was a smile, "Tis why she an' 'ear Aunti 'ave such a true bond... e'ery child needs a mother..." He kissed her softly, lovingly.
Maggie: " yes every child needs a mother " she agreed but inside frowned a bit.. just how close was this Auntie to Jack.. a bit of the green monster suddenly assailed her.. but then was kissed away.. before she wiggled against him " Jacques she might wake up.. " she purred.. having to demure because of the little one.. but really enjoying his kisses.. what a rock and a hard spot.
Jack: Aunti, the Duchess, was - ya know - married to the Duke. So... yeah. And jealously was not something the Irishman found endearing, having had many arguments of the 'You still love him/her' variety with his ex wife. Long story. He smiled softly, ".... Sae, what dae we dae while she sleeps?"
Maggie: " I don't know" she smiled up at him.. nuzzling his cheek.. " Whatever you wish I suppose... " her brows wiggled playfully.. as she nuzzled her nose against his.. playfully.. " Or perhaps you need a nap as well you were up awfully late last night " again the teasing.. such a playful kitten she was to him
Jack: Jack smiled softly, before glancing toward his sleeping daughter and her kitty, "Tis there another room?" Despite the set, he would actually take a nap.
Maggie: Sure there is a empty room next door.. I'll stay and watch over her so she doesn’t get upset when she wakes in a strange place.. She slid from his lap and kissed him softly before taking his hand and leading him to the other room for his nap.. tucking him in with a sweet kiss.. then returning to watch over Seanna while she slept.

Maggie: The Day before had been spent with pancakes coco jewelry and naps.. a long but joyfully day the trio spent together.. ending in dinner at the Briar Rose and cheerful goodbyes at the Door of the Lily as Jack and Seanna rode home to their cottage.. Maggie’s heart had opened to the little girl.. that was so sad that her friend was gone.. and feeling overwhelmed at the impending " trip" her father was going to take.. it tugged at her heartstrings and she felt the need to do something special for the child.. So while Jack and Seanna were at the castles the next day.. all day seeing the Duchess and hearing the latest news on Aodhans disappearance.. Maggie set off to bring about a smile and some joy to the House of Flynn.. Then morning was filled with shopping for what she needed.. the afternoon in preparation.. so when Father and Child arrived home for dinner.. the suprises would be revealed.. A Yule tree and decorations.. not as lavish or expensive as those in the Lily.. more homey and understated graced the cottage.. with Lisbettes help it was transformed into a homey warm cozy place.. in the kitchen a meal of roast lamb and root vegetables pumpkin pie and fresh bread , filled the house with the aroma of home.. there were even boxes beneath the tree presents for Jack, Seanna and Lisbette.. all brightly wrapped and bowed.. by the chimney three stockings hung.. a great big one with Jacks name embroidered on it Seanna's and Lisbettes.. more lady like size but with their names on it as well.. a project she had been working on for a week.. now become part of her days plan.. even the door held and evergreen wreath with a bright red bow.. Maggi had brought them Christmas.
Jack: If Maggie were to watch for their arrival from one of the windows, she would see the Father and Child approaching their humble cottage. From watching the poor child alone, Maggie would know that there had been little - if any - news about Aodhan's kidnapping. Although the grown folk were careful about discussing it in front of Seanna, the child was very intelligent. The girl-child's head was cast down, the toy knight still held tight against her chest. She went everywhere with it, afraid to let it out of her sight. When Seanna had first picked up the toy, refusing to be without it, her Da had asked her why. Seanna had said that she wanted to take good care of it, and keep it for Aodhan, when he got back. For Seanna, there was never any doubt that Aodhan would return. It was just that she missed her friend who was a boy. Although by himself, Jack still did much of what he could to lift Seanna's spirits and keep her heart happy. There was little doubt that the Irishman had promise to have Aodhan returned safely to Skye - if not bring the young boy back himself. And Seanna believed him. Why? Because he was her Da. And he could do anything. It was as they came down the path, that Seanna - mopping over the day's events - first caught sight of the evergreen wreath. It had, at first, been only a glimpse. But when she saw it? She had stopped. And, in but an instant, Maggi would have her work reward. Even without seeing the interior of the house, Seanna's eyes widened. In wonder, awe, and joy. "Da!" The little girl cried, "Look!" And she was off running toward the front door, almost at full tilt. She came to a stop, awe on her features, as she looked up at the evergreen wreath. She looked back at Jack, marvel still on her features, knowing that he hadn't put it up. When Lizebette had also denied it (somewhat truthfully, she had helped Maggi after all), the look of wonder increased. When she actually saw the inside of the house? The girl squalled in glee, seeming to run in all directions at once. To the Yule tree, to the stocking hung by the fire place, and back to look and marvel at the wreath. Add to this was another sound, one that might have startled Maggi. The big black dog, simply called Dog, had stayed with Maggi in the room. He got up, and scampered out suddenly. His claws scrapping on the floor as he went down his family. Would Maggie smile, when she heard Lizabette talking with Jack about it? Finally, Jack asked, "Lizebette... how did ye dae all o' this?" Lizebette smiled. "I did nae dae it all, m'lord.... I 'ad some 'elp," Lizebette said. It looked like that was Maggie's cue.
Maggie: Maggie had been watching from the window in the living room a cheerful fire crackling as she awaited their return.. as near dusk fell she finally heard the turn of carriage wheels and the clip clop of horses hooves, the big dog nuzzling into her skirts as she scratched his ears affectingly.. listening as the father and daughter were joyed to see the transformation of their home she peeked around the doorframe.. with a smile... " I hope you do not mind " she smiled sheepishly.. perfect white teeth worrying her bottom lip hoping she had not overstepped her boundaries... " I wanted to do something nice for you both " cobalt eyes sparkled with love and warmth for the pair as crimson skirts swirled about her feet as she stopped before them.
Jack: It was Seanna that would answer for the both of them. As straight and true as an arrow's flight, the girl went running to Maggie and through her arms around her... a greeting usually only reserved for the Duchess and her Da. Seanna looked up, "We dun mind!" She could have been speaking out of turn, but behind her? Jack only beamed, incling his head ever so soft. "Aye....we are o'er joyed wit' this..." Seanna nodded enthusiastically, looking up at Maggie. Then she paused, and said, "Maggie... can I tell ya somethin'? It's secret...." It was a ruse, but it would work. Jack smiled as he looked over the Yule tree and its ornaments, where Lizebette's touch showed. Many of the ornaments were of fae creatures, while the other carried heavier tones of gaelic design and artistry.
Maggie: She knelt catching the little girl in her arms the hug returned with great affection.. her own smile at being accepted and them enjoying her surprise was infectious as she looked up at Jack with an adoring grin.. " of course Seanna.. I will keep your secret if you tell me " she leaned her ear close to the little girls lips to hear the secret.. dark hair pulled back so it was possible to reach the shell of her ear...with a tiny whisper.. her arms gently laced about the little girls waist.. giggling softly as the Childs chilled cheeks brushed her.. " your freezing come by the fire.. " on the hearth a small tray was set out with hot coco.. for the ladies and a cup of strong coffee for Jack..
Jack: There was no secret to be told, for that was the ruse. When Maggie was close enough for the child, Seanna placed a quick kiss to Maggie's cheek. There was a smile. And when the fire was mentioned, Seanna smiled and nodded. Remembering that she was indeed cold. Before the Irishman took a seat amongst Maggie and Seanna, he retrieved a quilt large enough to cover them all. There was a smile as he spread it over their legs (and his once he sat down), before Maggie passed out the drinks. Jack leaned back with his coffee mug in his hands, the faint scent of whiskey coming from it, as he watched the fire -- and Seanna and Maggie. At the feet of the humans, were the two animals. Dog was of course stretched out along the couch, being near as possible to Seanna. And his shadow? Coco, of course. The poor beast wasn't able to get rid of the half-grown cat - it kept following him everywhere!
Maggie: The Kiss caught her offgaurd , and she laughed as the cold nose pressed against her cheek.. quickly catching the little one about the waist and tickling her for a moment before she ran off toward the tray of coco, She rose then from her kneel and leaned up kissing Jack softly a little brush across his lips.. " I missed you " the turned to head for the couch Snuggled together on the couch Seanna between them they sipped the coco and warmed up the travelers.. as soon as the little girl was passably warm she rose and pulled the child up helping to take off her boots and winter coat and the scarf and mittens.. " gracious your bundles up like a Viking " she teased and pulled off the crocheted beanie that covered up the golden curls.. before folding them neatly... " Dinner is ready whenever you two are " she smiled.. "And their is pie.. pumpkin pie "
