Gilded Lily Archetype of Clientele
There are three categories that Clientele fall into at the Gilded Lily, this is both a guideline for Courtesans and potential clients who intend to play out Becoming involved in such an business arrangement. I. The Client.. A Client is for lack of a better descriptor.. The equivalent of a one night stand. They are those who just need the attention of a courtesan for a night or evening, perhaps to attend a function, or make a Lady they are courting Jealous.. Among other things.. The Client will pay well for the evenings affairs, but in the end it is a brief encounter that is taken lightly by both.. No strings.. The quintessential business arrangement. 50% of the money made goes to the House.. While the other is held in trust for the courtesans needs. II. The Patron. The Patron is a bit more selective in his attentions, he is a man who wishes to only have the attention of one specific courtesan.. To this end he will pay in advance at least a month.. Under contract.. This does not give him exclusivity to the Courtesan, she may indeed take other Clients as well as another Patron if she can schedule it so.. What it does give him rights to is Preferential Treatment when he visit’s the house from his Patroned Courtesan.. As it is better to keep a Patron Enamored and Entertained that pays for a months keeping, than a Client who only brings a single night of revenue. But a warning to the Courtesan.. More than one Patron.. Can be a delicate situation especially if they are acquainted. III. The Sole` Patron The Sole Patron usually falls within two categories of men.. Either a married man or man of such status that an outright mistress would be inappropriate.. Or the rare man that finds himself so entangled, enchanted, in love with a Courtesan that he will expend all amounts of effort and money to see her exclusively as his alone. This Arrangement is perhaps the most consuming for both Courtesan and Patron.. As The Patron is legally contracted to provide for her way of life.. And keep at the House..50% going to the house and the rest held in trust for the Courtesans future. As well as furnish her a dowry toward her future.. Held in trust by the house solicitor. In turn for the Courtesan she is legally and morally obligated to him and him alone in body and affection for the term of no more than a year, at which at the end of such a term.. It can be extended for another year. Should the Patron release the Courtesan from the contract early the dowry is hers to keep.. But should the Courtesan Terminate the contract.. The dowry is returned to the patron in full.. The only exceptions.. Those deemed of abuse and or danger to the courtesan in which the dowry remains with the Courtesan and the Patron will be blacklisted from the House immediately
