After the meeting at the castle with the Duke and Duchess and others, Morgen finished some last minute business before he saddled Cendrillon and rode home. It was late when he departed the city walls, the moon was high and the approaching fall blew a crisp wind that sunk beneath Morgen's cloak and found his bones and chilled him. Twice fold of the voyage he would have to undertake tomorrow, and it was not just the ship ride that would ill him.
He rushed Cendrillon home, but did not put here away for the night, not just yet. He went inside for another hour or so to announce to his sisters and brothers that he would be leaving in the morrow. Of course, they were displeased and he had to subdue the younger ones and he stayed until they were fast asleep. When he began putting his boots back on his eldest sister would ask him, pulling the shawl over her nightgown closely to her. "And where are ye goin' yet in this hour? Ye need tah rest." Felicity scolded, holding a candle and standing in the middle of the kitchen. Once he laced up his boots, he reached for his cloak and looked to her. "I need to say goodbye to someone. I will be home soon, I promise." And with that he opened the door and entered the night again.
By this time it was well deep in the night, but he mounted Cendrillon. Patting her shoulder and pushing her into a trot for Aoife's house.
He slowed the black Arabian until she stopped just outside the house. Swinging down from the saddle and silently as he could, tossing her reins around a hanging, sturdy branch. In case anything would spook her. He crept towards the house quietly, but he was no rogue and could not help leaves and grass crunch beneath his boot that in the dead of the night seemed to snap throughout the countryside. He would try for the door, but did not put much faith in it as he guessed it would be locked. He supposed he could have stayed there and just knocked, but instead he walked around the house to look for a window.
One was found, a small one, and he squinted in his eyes and tried to peer inside. But the moon wasn't much of a light and so he'd tap lightly on the window. A few times, then three times more. Hoping that it would rouse her from her dreams, he just had to see her once more before he left.

She ran through ribbons, hundreds and thousands of ribbons of all shades and colors, different variations. They were the soft silken swooshing as she ran and suddenly their sound changed. Tap, tap, tingting, taptap..They grew harder and hurt to run and thus she woke up. Blinking her eyes open to another tap, she'd frown a bit and turn her head, then sat bolt upright, her fair face popping into the window she slept under. At that, she bit back a squeak at the dark shadow outside her window. Though as her eyes quickly focused, that brief look of fright changed into one of happiness. Moving onto her knees, the bedclothes pooling around her, she'd reach up a small hand to unlatch the window. She'd wait for him to step back a moment before pushing the planes open. She was lucky to have glass windows, no matter how thick and distorted the view looked. Her golden locks were braided over her shoulder, a wide sleeved chemise her sleeping dress. She'd rest her arms on the window sill as she surveyed him. " Yer to tall, me cottage too small, and my hair nay long enough to pull you up, dear Prince." Ah yes, she read the book of faery tales she bought from him. [please adjust above image to fit the details, lol, like..night time.]

When he saw a figure behind the blurred grass move his heart did a leap and he stepped back so she could open the windows. When she did she would find him with a smile spread across his lips that reached his eyes. Morgen would kneel on the grass before the window and raise his eyes to Aoife.
"Your cottage is perfect like you, and I would not think climb up your hair anyway and inflect any injury to your blessed head. So we must make our own faery tale." He spoke in a gentle voice to match the quiet of the night. Raising up slightly on his knees so that when he raised his hand his fingertips would reach the side of her cheek and caress her soft skin a moment, then lower his hand back down to the window ledge. He wanted to forget the reason that drove him so earnestly in the night to see her, and just kneel there and gaze at her until the morning came. "I do hope I am not disturbing you...I did come here in haste for a reason." And now that smiled waned some and his full brows lowered in a mild frown. "I have to leave for awhile...I am sailing to Aberdeen with the Duke and Duchess and some others where some dire political matters await us. What will determine our liberty or our enslavement to the English." He sunk back on his knees slightly, some misery beginning in the pit of his stomache. Stressed over what he would have to do, worried about the outcome, and not wanting to be away from Aoife of course. And also worried about his family. Really, would feel like a train wreck in the morning when he woke. For now, Aoife's presence set some of his pains at bay.

That bright smile did not waiver as he knelt before her, the wall keeping them a million miles apart, it seemed. She'd tilt her hand some, pressing her cheek, flushed with sleep and the excitement he stirred, into his palm. Her smile softened as he spoke, her eyes shutting as she left his deep voice roll over her. The news was not good.. her eyes opening her her little smile was a bit sad.
"It is my fault, Master Grey, for I bring trouble..raiders, war, and Anglish wherever I go," with this she sighed, though..she would not say it now, the English in Ulster deverted her here and that had not been all together a poor thing..Her hand would raise to gather his at her cheek and both small hands would wrap around it as she made a brave face. "Fergive me?" Blue hues looked pleadingly upon his darker ones, bringing his hand to her lips, little kisses placed on his palm and fingertips. "How long will be be away?"

"It is certainly not your fault." He said still in a quiet voice, each word passed slowly through the air. He wanted to savor this moment, each passing second. For he knew he would miss her the minute he turned away. "You and I, all of us, we are only victims of this war. And victims to corrupt nobles, too blind by greed to see the fangs beneath their smiles." He said with a tinge of bitterness, looking down. He loved the art of aristocracy, but hated the majority of the people of that class.
Picking up his head again to look at Aoife when she took his hand, a deeper smile pressing to his lips. He was bewildered and amazed by the way she could vanquish any slight of worry or pain and replace it with something hopelessly blissful. And that blissful hope popped an idea in his head. His face lit up suddenly with the idea, his brows raising as he rose himself from kneeling on the ground to ease his weight on the edge of the window sill. His opposite hand reached for her free one and he pulled both of her hands together with his into his lap, interlacing his fingers with hers. "I have an idea." He smiled, looking at her with a renewed expression of joy, "Come with me, please?" Eye searched her own, pleadingly. He would have more confidence and strength if she went with him. One less thing he had to worry about, and he just wanted to be with her. All the time. He'd even gravel at her feet if she really wanted him to...but hopefully she'd have pity for him. ( :-D )

Aoife watched his face as she pressed kisses to his hand, his wrist, his fingers before holding it against her cheek once more and lightly letting go of it as she listened to him. Go with..her eyes searched his face, he looked sincere. He looked so...well, her heart was thudding loudly again. "Wot of me ewes?" She had to protect her livelihood. If it got colder too quickly, they would have to be protected. Lips pursed a moment before relaxing and gazing at him again. She'd wait for him to think of something before her, he was much quicker than she was.
Shifting a bit, she'd stand on her bed slowly, her body bending into the chill and wrapping her slender, thinly covered arms around his neck, hugging him close to her.

He was quicker, especially in a situation where he most earnestly wanted her to go with him. "My sisters. We had sheep, long ago. We had a very large farm before my parents died, and they know how to care for all types of livestock. We have only four cows now, two horses, and some goats but our fields are extensive and we have an abundance of hay harvested already from our fields. We have a very large barn that used to house ten more horses, but we sold them, and their stalls are vacant. We can bring them to my farm and my sisters and my elder brother will care for them." He spoke hastily, trying to convince her that all would be well and she would have nothing to fear. "I will personally and see that you are accommodated throughout the entire trip and we can spend time together on the ship and in Aberdeen." A light sparkled at the prospect. Getting excited at the idea he began to sit up a bit more on the window ledge as she got up on her bed and leaned in to embrace him and he wrapping his arms around her, as gravity and his balance would have it, he would slip and "Ohp!" He'd fall through the window locked around her and land onto her bed in a bit of a heap, but also having bumped his head against the top of the window on the way. The pain was ignored and he laughed, but he was a respectable man of manners and...though they were courting, landing on her bed with her in only a chemise on in the middle of the night was, just, well... inappropriate. Although he would very much like to say that way. He did untangle himself from her and would stand up, muttering an embarrassed apology, raising a hand to smooth over the side of his head across his hair.
Clearing his throat, standing just in front of her before the bed he let his hands come to rest on his waist. "I need you there, though." He said back to his serious tone, looking straight into her lovely light blue eyes. "Being a sea apart from you would only make me a wreck. Besides paper work and issues around Turas Lans, this will be my first time exerting myself as an Ambassador. And I..." his broad shoulders that were always stiff and straight, broke and slumped and he hung his head his hands dropping to his sides. "I am very nervous, Aoife. Thinking of just how dire the situation is, it sets my stomach into knots. Because I'm not experienced. I am qualified I suppose, but I have never been an Ambassador before. And now I am expected to go, and do what?" This was really something of Morgen, to admit to his weaknesses in front of someone that was not his sister Felicity, who really might be the only soul in the world that knew the real Morgen; what lay behind his apathetic visage that he wore so well. He often often assumed an arrogant role and spoke over confidently, but now thought he may have overstepped the boundary of his abilities.
Looking up to her both of his hands rose, finger tips lightly caressing both of her cheeks and brushing back rogue strands of her wheat blonde hair. His face softened. He wanted to tell her how beautiful he thought she was, but he didn't want her to think that he was just saying that because where they currently were. "Please? I need you."

She would lift her head, looking at him with a little smile, nodding a bit as he quickly ran through her option, her flock would be careful by his word. Lips parted a bit as she was about to speak as her arms went around him and his around her, she was close to agreeing. They tumbled, she'd squeak and hold him tightly to her as they hit her small bed. It creaked in protest to the sudden weight and then he was up again.
Her night gown was twisted around her knees, bare feet wriggled a bit as she pulled herself up onto the bed in a seated position, pulling her covers towards herself to make her more modestly covered as the gown did not provide much of that. She was laughing lightly still but it was soon stopped as he spoke. Her wide eyes watching him as he expressed himself...his hands came to her cheeks, flushed with mirth and she'd melt almost from his honesty. Her head would bob a bit.
"Aye, aye.. I will go, but..this is ok, with your Lady? And where is Aber...deen?" Her hands would collect his again, holding them gently together between hers.

He laced his fingers with hers when she held them and he nodded, responding. "Yes, it will be fine. I should think that the Duchess would be pleased with it even. Aberdeen is a city in the highlands, in the mainland of Scotland. It is a beautiful place in the mountains, you will see. But now you should sleep and I will come for you in the morrow in a wagon with my brother and sister. My brother will take us to the harbor, and my sister can collect your flock." He paused. "You are my own Lady and at this point I believe you may call me Morgen." Smiling in satisfaction he leaned down then and brought his lips to hers. Closing his eyes his head tilted slightly, kissing her deeply and breathing in her scent. But he would withdraw shortly after, he did not trust himself. "Goodnight." He whispered softer now, and kissed the top of her palms on both hands, then let them go.
"Mm..I suppose I should go out the way I came hm?" He glanced to the window then back to her, a musing smile on his lips and he chuckled. He did not want to stumble around her house in the dark or make her have to get up. So he'd sit on the edge of her bed, closer to the window. He didn't want to get her shoes all over her bed, that'd be awful. So he'd swing his legs over so his feet were out the window first. Half turning to lean over and steal another quick kiss from her lips he grinned then proceeded to slip his tall body through the window awkwardly.
Once he was out he leaned down to peer inside again. "Sweet dreams." Then returned to the shadows of the night for his horse. In much of a better mood then when he came.

She smiled up at him as they held hands, pleased at how happy he was..and then her face softened at his sweeter words. If it was not dark, he could see a light blush creeping over her cheeks. A moment, he might of seen it being so close, but their lips touched and the world was faded to a single point, she returned it happily. The tiniest of sighs left her li;s as he pulled away, lashes fluttering a moment as she looked up at him once more.
"Oh..I..ah.." And he started to move back the way he came, she was softly laughing as wriggled his way back through her window. Turning and kneeling in the bed sheets as she leaned into his stolen kiss, her hands going up to gently touch he cheeks then he started to worm his way the rest of the way out, she was laughing again. He disappeared a moment, then returned with his sweet goodbye. She'd shift to lean out her window as he went away, "Be safe, My Ghraih [my dear]!" And with that, she'd turn and sink back into her bed, fingertips pressed to her lips a moment before she fall to her side, hugging the blankets to her, chuckling.
