Anulia- Early morning pressed on, not even awaiting for the sun to fully be up as men were moving about the docks with torches lit, along with the night lanterns burning away the oil that had been filled to the brim and was now nearly gone from a night of being on fire. The cargo was already being unloaded and placed in the area designed for it as men formed chains or moved back and forth to take the load this way and that. Among them, Anulia awaited for them to let her know she could board and get her new friend from the underside of the ship. One would think transporting such a large animal would be simple, but it had not been. During the day, the elephant got spooked quickly, so it was only when the sun was still down, could they move him in and out with greater ease. Skirts that had been cut into fine strips moved about her muscular legs as bare feet pressed onto the wood of the dock and she was given permission to board the ship, to help ease her friend out. Already she had the fruits within her hand to help lure him from the depths of the boat. Vanishing under the large opening, men gathered about along the sides and dock to wait, making sure to be ready should the animal decide to charge. Mere moments passed before the ship began to rock back and forth as if some invisible hand was pressing and pulling. Slowly, the jungle beauty could be seen walking backwards with graceful steps as she held a hand full of strawberries out. From the depths, a long snout that seemed to reach out for her, as if some creature ready to pull her back into a night mare before the snout grew into large white tusk, longer then a male's arm and then a head that was larger then Anulia's body. ``Come my beauty..come.`` men watched in awe as the jungle beauty brought out her newest gift for the world to see. Some were fearful, others intrigued. But every one of them stood watching as the animal made the boat creak under it's powerful weight, almost threatening to sink it was a single step.
Maahes- He had been given word that the jungle beauty was on the move through the streets and heading towards the docks, and he could not stop himself from following in that direction. The day's work had been finished before it had even began; having given himself "maternity" leave to see to it the twins got settled and their mother healthy. It seemed his role in the whole plan was to simply hold one while the other ate. It was all he could do, but he felt it wasn't enough. For hours he would sit on the edge of Tommy's bed just staring at the little bundles whose names have yet to be decided. Though he had their nicknames already picked out in his mind. As often Maahes struggled with the English names and gave his own take on the person and suited them with names of his own. Jack Trades, had never given himself that name, Maahes had just never asked and when the man said he was a Jack of all Trades--it stuck. So no matter what names she would give her children it would never be what he called them. As he moved through the streets the gasps could be followed with ease. No doubt Anulia was up to something, but even he was not prepared for what was coming off that ship. Amber eyes grew wide as his hands fell to his sides, and his mouth parted in a gasp. Suddenly he was returned to his childhood, where a toddling version of himself clung to his mother's leg watching the streets and her quickly snatching him up to move from the path of a traveling royal on the backs of the creature before. Even in all his years in the arena he never got the chance to be in the same area as the animal, but their use had been proven. She amazed him, even now at how much she grew into a person and individual. She was passionate, curious and most of all smiling. So how could he stop his own face from expressing a grin. The line of the onlookers was pressed through and he stood just on the edge watching. It would not be until they made landfall would he press forward and come to stand just off her shoulder. "(You confuse the people)" He spoke in Arabic to her with a smile. " (They will not know what to think of you now.) " Crossing his arms gently over his chest it was a strange change to have to tilt his head back to look over the form of the animal.
Anulia- While Eirian had kept Anulia up to date on much of the news within Skye, there was still so much that she did not know. Ignorance was bliss at the moment. Anulia's bare feet had to plant themselves along the wood as the boat rocked instead of swayed. Finally, after what took a good bit of time, Anulia was hopping off the boat and onto the docks, where the Elephant followed in tow, grasping a few bits of fruit to keep it's attention. Men moved out of the way, some faster then others as the beast made sure everyone knew it was coming. Anulia glanced behind her as she felt Maahes' presence close by. She could never ignore him, nor would she. When they were finally off the dock, the men moved about to check the ship and finish what they had been doing before. ``( They did not know what to think of me before. It makes no difference, for those that have loved me, will still love me now yes?)`` As of late, her tone was always sure, never faultering, for she knew who she was, where she had come from, what her life had been and what she wanted it to be now. As both beast and beauty stopped, she allowed the Elephant to take his glory in the food, using his long powerful trunk to grip it and place it within his mouth. `` ( What brings you here so early? The sun has yet to greet the lands. Surely, you can find sleep better now a days? ) `` Anulia had noted how happy Maahes seemed. She was pleased with it. Never question a change when it was a good one. `` What do you think of the beast?``
Maahes- " ( If they do not they will answer to me, you know this.) " His open palm then ran over the animal's leathery hide the feel so different then anything he could compare. "( I have been up for morning prayer.) " As always eyes watched as their native tongue left in rich tones and rolling sounds. Slow steps careful and precise moved around the beast and he took the sight in. "I think very much of it, but where are you going to put it?" He grinned as he peered around the head of the animal to catch her eye. " You can't keep this within the city, and what of the Winter?" How many questions was he going to fire until it wore her out? For just a moment that little boy deep inside could be seen as the same joy no doubt many children of these lands will soon discover. A 6'7 little boy, about 220 pounds, just a few years under 30 but a child none the less. "He or she? And what of a name?"
Danae- Danae would find herself walking the streets without any sort of destination in mind today. The Commander was nearly healed fully from those wounds sustained within the last recent battle. She had been taking it easy as suggested, taking the advice and instructions of the healers in Skye. Today, she was not wearing her usual ranger garb, no. Today she seemed out of place to some as she dressed more...casual. A tunic with missing sleeves in a pale blue colour. A pair of black cotton and clean breeches while wearing not boots, but sandles..yes sandles. Just because the Commander dressed differntly today, that did not mean she was not carrying a weapon on her. Somewhere...always, this Greek warrior had one stashed. One never knew when danger could and most likely would approach, which almost always called for a weapon of some sort should hands and skills not be enough. Hands were behind her back, clasped, looking much like the Commanding observer she was as icy blue hues simply gazed about in a lazy manner. The keen ears of the ranger however would catch the sounds coming from the docks as she neared them. Growing closer with each step taken, she could hear the talk more clearly, the subject was that of a large beast. She smirked, automatically think that Maahes had done something to someone to call attention to himself. How wrong was she as she neared even closer, seeing over the small gathered crowd of on lookers with their eyes all in the direction of Anulia and her elephant. Head titled and arms came to cross over her chest. Fingers curled to the bare copper skin of the opposite arm as she watched on in silence a moment. She would greet both Anulia and Maahes son enough, but wait a short time before doing that. Giving them a little time to talk if and when she decided to join them.
Anulia- Anulia knew that Maahes would always help her when he could and protect her, but he had a nation to protect, other women who had grown close to him, that he needed to protect. Anulia had grown much in Avaria, alone and without those that she had come to rely on. She was alone..completely once more save for Perry. This gift was from him, for reasons she could only grasp as the way she stared at the others that had passed through. ``( I remember. Your will protect me when you can. On the times I am without you, I must protect myself. Such is life. )`` The questions, she knew would come and Anulia was only far too happy to answer them. She would not look at Maahes as if he were strange but watch as he touched the hide, feeling the strength within layers and layers of flesh that the sun had helped dry. `` I will keep him beyond the city. I have plans and will need help with them. He will need a home much like a horse has. I am going to speak to the horse lord and a few others today. Would you help me build him a stable?`` She was beyond pleased with how her friend was so calm even as the large male touched him. ``It is a he. I am still searching for a name. There is no rush, he seems at peace without one. `` Eyes danced to the side to see Danae and she gave a wide smiled greeting to the woman. `` Evening. Would you like to come and touch him as well?`` That massive trunk reached around towards Maahes, the small ends of them like fingers as it grabbed one of his long dreads and picked it up slightly, only to drop it as if the Elephant was trying to make heads or tails of it. `` You are in need of your hair being twisted.``
Maahes- He chuckled lightly once the elephant touched his hair. "When will you have the time, Zoyah? and of course I will help you. I will go today and buy the wood." Turning his face only for a moment to Danae he met her eyes with a. *gasp* smile. "Look, an elephant." The morning breeze swept the small fly-a-way curls that in fact was proof he was in need of his hair done. (did) In fact he was given new beads as well he would like to have worked in before the Masque, but Anulia would have her hands full no doubt and he would simply have to be ok with this. She was her own person and this was proof..massive proof right? "Did he come from your lands?" Returning his attention to Anulia and the elephant. What a surprise this had been!
Danae- Danae finally decided to close that distance between herself and the others. Making her way through the now thinning crowd toward Anulia, the elephant and Maahes. As she came closer, she was spotted by the darker skinned woman, given a greeting with a smile and asked if she would like to come pet the animale too. Danae gave a single nod as a smile slowly appeared. Upon reaching the trio, the Greek woman spoke. "Nice beast you have there..." Sarcasm? Yes please! But it was all in jest, nothing to make either grow angry..she hoped. Those icy blue hues then shifted from Anulia and her pet then to Maahes. When he greeted her with his smile and words, she nodded smiling back with her reply. " Yes, I see..." Said with a soft chuckle as she neared closer to let both hands that were free from gloves for once, run over an area of the leathery skin. She then looked to Anulia, smiling a little more as she grew quiet. Danae had seen elephants before, remembering them from several places she had traveled to and from. She admired, them as she did with all animals. Even the aggressive ones, perhaps it was part of her nature.
Anulia- Chocolate eyes passed over to Maahes once more around the moving trunk as he called her Zoyah and said when she had time. She would make time of course, if only to spend the quiteness with him. `` Thank you. I will repay you for what the wood will cost of course. I have returned here to meet Hope and to attend the masque ball. If you will be attending, I will do your hair before then of course. `` Anulia would have the general looking well at such a event. Eyes went to Danae, glad to see the woman smiling for she was truly lovely to behold with her full lips pulling back and curving around the edges. More people should smile, they were quite lovely when they did. `` [b[hit hit`` At her word the elephant leaned down and placed one massive leg to the side, so Anulia could step upon his leg and lift herself up to swing one muscular leg over his back and then scoot up behind his ears. A pat was given so he would rise once more with her now as his passenger.`` I believe he is. I was told, from different places, they look different. This is how I remember them. If that is the case... I can go home..I might...go home. `` Chocolate eyes looked over Maahes' face and then Danae, only to look back to Maahes. Her smile had faded at those words, and showed every bit of unsureness that she held. Where was home even at now? Looking down upon them, her right hand caressed the harden skin as those massive ears acted like a fan, pushing breeze against her.
Maahes- "I will be attending. Though I have not given much time to think on the event. Tommy had her babies, I have been busy with them." Had Danae known? Looking between the women he kept his attention split, and for once was perfectly fine with that. It was not until Anulia's confused words would he break from the both to concentrate on the jungle beauty. Standing at the elephant's side he touched the bare foot that was before him running his palm over the smooth skin. "You are home, Zoyah. " His face grew somber and serious as he searched up to her eyes. "Those lands are the past, here we are free and home." He released her foot after placing a gentle kiss to her ankle and then running his hand over the backside of the Elephant. "I have much to do it seems." He spoke to Danae as he moved to stand beside her.
Danae- The Greek woamn continued to pet the elephant for a few more moments before ceasing and stepping back, letting those arms fold once more and fingers forming themselves to the well muscled biceps for a woman. They were not at all too muscular, but perhaps more than some would like to see on a female. At Anulia's words, she watched the beast before more words were to follow. Those words showed just how unsure Anulia was of such a thing, Danae's heart going out to the woman. The Commander herself thought many times about returning to her own homelands, even if for a short time. As Maahes looked between her and Anulia, she had no idea what the man was thinking, but if she had she would be able to let him know that no she had not known Tommy to have her babies. That head titlted once more and Danae wished she could have offered words of wisdom and comfort to Anulia, but where home was concerned, none could really do such. Danae watched at Maahes made his attempt, only to keep quiet and feel as if she were intruding on something more ...personal.
Anulia- Anulia had just spoken to Tommy not too many days ago, maybe even a day or so. She had babies, not one but two? Anulia had missed much indeed. `` I would like to meet them soon as well. `` At the touch of his rougher hand on her foot, where the dirt dusted the lower end, but the upper area was clean and free of it, showing just how delicate of steps she took since her feet did not kick up the dust. Eyes flickered to Danae, as if unsure what he was speaking of, but she knew. The kiss, rare and invited, was taken as a friendly token, for to think it was more, was to be the fool and Anulia knew her place well enough. As a friend, it touched deep, as a mate, it was confusing, so she took it as a friendly gesture. `` Perhaps you are right. I have time to think more on it...(my lion). `` Maahes words were...full of wisdom..such she had heard rarely from him and it made her see him as more then a beast of a man, once again. `` We will speak more..`` Anulia wanted to leave, to think and give her friend a chance to stretch his massive legs. `` Danae, it is good to see you once more as always. Your strength here, I have seen in Avaria now..thank you for all you both do. If no one has ever said such about your protection and blood shed or loss...I am saying so now. Thank you..the both of you.`` With a click, the elephant turned and moved to give his massive back side to them both, while Anulia looked ahead as well, never once glancing back as they moved towards the sands to head for the nearest wide and open space. She meant every words she said to them, staying in Avaria had changed her a good deal
