Aslan Burning: The afternoon was coming to an end, and what would have been a busy day seemed to drudge on without time. Heavy rains fell so thick that the streets were flooded with thick mud, and rushing water. A simple summer storm turned into a furious round of thick drops and daring thunder. Lightning crashed against the horizon and over head, so close that the thunder fell before the bolt was gone. Most everyone was sheltered, save for the single carriage stuck in the mud so deep that the horse's took to their knees. It was a supply cart that needed to get to the infirmary. However after an hour or so of pushing and pulling, the General and the two other men gave up. One by one the crates were to be carried. Dark eyes passed to every dry watching eye, and Maahes heaved a heavy breath, once again reminded of how different the worlds they came from truly were. Three men were to carry a complete cart to the Dr's and not a single person even lifted a finger to help. (d
Alika Windsor: Alika had been one of the sheltered observers for a whole of a minute after seeing the horses of the carriage go down. Unknown she was to have appeared, even likely to the men unloading the said carriage, for she had gone around to the horses heads to help them back to their feet as much as she possibly could and then to remain there and calm them with low words uttered so they didn't try to bolt, not that they'd get anywhere but it was possible horses could kill themselves when fighting to escape anything they say to be the enemy. Once calmed as much as they would be amid this storm she roped them off at a hitch and prayed it held if they got spooked then rounded the carriage to where the men were. Drenched and uncaring of it she simply and without a word started to haul a crate that was light enough for her to move and await the others so she could follow for direction of where ever they were to unload it. The Egyptian Arab's arms were a fortress, one that held in as well kept back what was invading. The rain that ran over his darkened flesh was all he could fight. However, the supplies were important and though he could not see but three feet in every direction he let his memory guide him to Aislin's keep.
The infirmary wasn't too full at the moment but the nurse's watched from the windows as the cart started to get unloaded. They could not go in fear of spreading the germs of the cold rain to the patients. Yet, their hearts went out to the General and the few that helped.
As he started to move he could see in the corner of his eye, one of his men turning a smirk over his shoulder to something ahead. Following the man's nod he'd spot Alika and the two men stood together both carrying faces of disbelief. Yet, there were half shaped grins against their lips and Maahes pressed the man on. As they started to move towards the building, Maahes come along side the woman, and fought everything inside not to take her crate as well. (not that he could).
As the soldiers passed into the infirmary the peace was broken with the sounds of soaked men, and crates hitting the grounds.
"Men," Spoken to the two from before. "Move out and get the rest."
Without question the men parted ways with their leader and the woman. All hard work was rewarded, but after this storm passed, the few would be merited for their loyal service.
"Lady Windsor, help the nurses unload. Your brother would have my head if you got sick. There is no need for you in the streets."
Maahes's deep voice rumbled down the halls as he kept quiet, but still the sound was much like the thunder that followed the flashes of light. Could it be so easily questioned? Some have died for less. Though, Balian would surely have his neck then.

The Rangers Commander had arrived, not bothering to tell anyone she had came back to Skye just yet. In fact, she spotted the carriage and its horses in distress just after leaving the docks while heading to the castle. Merick and Mirah were with her this time, leaving Balian back at home in charge of things while Danae took this short trip to Skye. Danae would hand her bag over to Mirah and order her to take her things along with her own and Merick's to the barracks. Meanwhile, the Commander and Merick began to help the General's men with the remainder of crates that needed to be delivered to the infirmary. Both she and Merick passed Maahes and the woman, only giving a nod for greeting right now. Both their crates were left with the others before she and Merick began to make their way back out into the pouring rain for more crates. Merick looked to his Commander, wondering why she had not stopped so the two could speak with Maahes. Danae shot him a look. "Do not think to ask any questions...just work for now."

Anulia had told him of the Pirate's arrival so it was to no surprise she was not far behind. It seemed they could not get enough of one another, and this was something Maahes was just going to have to face. Yet, could it be that easy?
He let himself pass on the subject for now, granting the Ranger a nod of his own. Her loyalty was very true be it of friendship or duty, and that was a strength he could easily admire in her. It was a trait he did not have to plant, but water as it grew.
Would it be so easy to bring out in the rest? Turning his attention back to the Knight's sister, he realized the Isle of full of such loyalty.

Alika was determined to help. Be it in the rain or out of it made little difference to her but being the General was likely correct about her brother, and she did not wish to put off what could easily be made an order and raise conflict she instead helped, but yet out of the rain as well.
Turning her help to the nurses as requested and helping them with getting the crates allready inside opened and items within them put away. The task did not end with simply unloading the carriage after all. Pausing a minute only to shed the wet cloak she wore onto a hook where it would hang dry, she hoped, she went back to the items. Removing bottles and whatnot from the crates and putting them up and away on shelves with the help of the nurses giving direction of what went where.
When one crate was emptied out she pushed it aside near the door to be removed and shifted to repeating the process all over again on the next crate in line waiting to be opened. For as long as crates were coming in the door she would be there to help unpack them and put things away even if it took all night.

Where were the carts that Aislin had been waiting on? The windows showed that the storm was growing and everyone was on standby to move and latch up he shudders. Aislin walked through the tall hallways and into the main room to ask many of her healers if word of the cargo had come. People were in need an she would be unable to face this weather alone. Calling out orders to others, she rose her voice as those with serious injuries were moved into their own room while those with minor were kept in the main hall. ``DO NAY SLOW. WE WILL HAVE TIME TO REST AS WE WAIT IT OUT. EVERYONE MUST HELP. MOVE QUICKLY. `` It was not so serious that they could not handle it, just steps taking in case things went wrong. One should always be prepared. Pausing by one of the more stronger of the healers (normally they were called 'Carries', those who carried heavy or dead weight around for the smaller women.) she looked towards him, meeting him at eye level. `` Ye will be needing some help with the sacs...ah shall try and find ye some. Do nay take on the work alone aye?`` When he agreed Aislin began to move again, letting booted feet press against the stone floor. Heading for the front door, she was pulled up short and paused to see Maahes moving through with crates in arms. Others were far behind him, making Aislin do something she never did much. Smile. A nice wide one tugged at those thin lips as she moved closer to Maahes. `` If those be mah crates... ye will be getting yer own jar to take with ye`` A tease. Rare. Very rare, but he deserved it never the less. A slender hand reached out to pat his arm in passing, grateful beyond words as she moved about to gather others and asked them to help. She had turned to Maahes for a moment to speak when others moved to place the crates in a storage room. `` We have some sacs of sand to place around the main entrance in case it floods. Could ye and yer men help us move them outside?``
She was thankful for Danae and Alika to come and help her healing hall. After all, this was a place that everyone needed, a palce that everyone would face now and then. All should take care of it in case that need would rise one day soon.[/color]

Somehow it wouldn’t seem so odd to have the decoration in his room reflect his African heritage. Tribal masks, weaponry of a primitive manner..and a jar of a human heart resting on a mantle. In fact there was a collection of odds and ends of every world as his thirst for knowledge continued. However, there wasn’t anything he wanted to see more, then that of the objects in her study.
Replacing the crates against the stone floor, his drenched face looked up to her, and as he erected his form again. He returned a smile of his own.
“Promise?” He grinned though it was small and easily missed.
Turning back to the last few that entered the door, his shoulders rolled to force the heavy leather of his chest plate off. It constricted his movement, but wet it rubbed his flesh until it was raw. The fabric of his grey tunic pressed against his form and dripped a puddle in the floor.
“You heard her, move.” He barked to the men, and Alika was to follow.
When Danae would return she would get just the same. This was something he had actually never done, but as always he’d watch and learn. Avaria rest on the mountain side so when the rains came, flooding never filled but rushed past the castle. It in its own right was very beautiful; however, the muddy streets of Skye were starting to gain his last nerve.
Returning his face to Aislin he’d raise an eye at her. A thick black brow arching as if to question if she were come, but before she could move he would speak, “You are not to come, not in your condition.” As Alika moved past to help the nurse’s he would stop her with the booming tone of his voice.
“You will not allow her to lift anything.” Was his threat as well his promise of a fight if Aislin would question his…suggestion? “Stay with her Lady Windsor. Do as she says.” With that he would return to the night to help with the sandbags, the flood, and the last of the load.

Once most of the crates had been hauled in and placed where needed, both herself and Merick then came up to nod and see what else Aislin needed of them. Just as the Greek woman was about to ask, Aislin made mention of sacs of sand to be placed around the entrance. Even before Maahes could bark his orders out, both the Commander and Merick were moving off to get started. Mirah had returned by now, Danae informing her what was needed and the trio went to work on the barricade of sand along with others. A line was formed, allowing the bags of sand to be passed down from one set of arms to the next until placed and stacked to keep water from entering as best as it could. This was not something Danae knew about from Avaria no, but she had been in other lands where waters rose regularly in certain seasons and efforts like this were common. Danae had to be honest with herself though, it felt good to get wet and dirty again with rain and mud as it mixed with the sweat of hard labor. To long did she have to sit on the sidelines and heal. This was definitely a welcomed change.
