Kae woke that morning and knew it was time to talk with Dmitrii.. about her wedding.
Having dressed and left the camp of her knight's as they were just waking she left a note for Raven explaining where she was so he would not worry.
" My heart... I have gone to see Dmitrii... you looked so peaceful sleeping I did not want to wake you to tell you so I wrote a note instead." Love, K
She saddled Baran and mounted the beast of a horse and head for Dmitrii's home... she rode enjoying the sounds of nature and its inhabitants waking to the sunny day.
The Castle Dmitrii lived in came into view... she rode through the fields and then through the gates. A man came over and helped her down " M'Lady?" he canted his head to her. " I am Lady... Dame Kaelyn.... Sir Dmitrii's sister I need to speak with him is he here?" she asked in a soft voice. She was still not used to her new title.
The man nodded in the positive " Please follow me." he said and turned to lead the way into the castle.
Kae followed him slowly as the ride had been long and her ribs though feeling better were still sore. She walked into the Castle and looked around... it was nice and offered comfort to those who entered.
The man led her to a small receiving room and motioned for the young girl nearby" Bring her Lady some tea." he said in a voice that said do not tarry. " I will let him know you are here M'Lady." he gave her a curt nod of his head and left. Kae looked about the room there was a large desk with papers strewn on it and several books lying bout as if someone had been in here recently.
Seeing the large window she walked over to it and looked out at the small garden and smiled as she waited for her brother.

Erin came to his room… “M’Lord… you have a guest… she is in the receiving room. ” the head servant told him.
Dmi was reading a book on strategy in the comfort of his room… setting the book aside, he walked out of the room and down the staircase… dressed comfortably in black leather trousers and a charcoal gray pull-over shirt, untucked at the waist, barren of the swords, his curly hair amuss… Entering the room he stopped and smiled as Kaelyn turned to look at her brother. “Pre vet Kaelyn… Kak dye la?” [hello Kaelyn, how are you?]
Motioning to a chair, he sat down next to her… "Ye look better than last I say you..." he smirked... then before she could state her reason for the visit, in Russian, he began to apologize for his behavior the many weeks before, long before Struan…
Then he quickly began to question her health… “I see you ride alone… do you think riding so soon is good…?” his intent was not to be a pain in the arse, but truly concerned for her health, as he heard from Adam that Raven had requested a wedding date…
Her first visit in the months he owned Castle Zurban, he got straight to the point… “What brings yu here my dear sister?” [/color]

The russian words spilled from his mouth as he apologized for their last meeting before the battle in Struan had taken place , she reached out and gently cupped in face in her hands. " Dmitrii, 'tis I who should apologize for not seeking you out and speaking with you first." she said softly looking into his grey eyes lovingly, she had spoken to him in Russian as well. Kae was a quick learner and knew many languages... something not many people knew.
When the question came up of how health she blinked, her hands fell away from his face, her eyes lowered " I am well enough me beloved brother for nothing was keeping me from coming here."
Kae inhaled slowly as once more met his gaze " I have come to ask if you will... " her voice cracked a bit from being nervous " Will you give me away at my wedding?" there she had managed to get it out. She watched him closely seeing if she could judge his answer but he kept his emotions guarded and did it so very well.
He was all the family he had other than her cousins or her knights which had become family to her after being together so long, but she wanted Dmitrii to be there and be the one who would speak and stand in her father's place. I f he said no fo r whatever his reason she would accept it though it would make her sad that he would not share in the joy of that most wonderful day.
In the time they had known each other they had become very close so close that many would never know they were not brought up together. She loved him but would respect his decision know matter what... she waited and seemed to be holding her breath as she watched something flicker in those grey eyes.

Offering her a chair, he sat down next to her and leaned forward, his elbows placed on his knees. The body language displayed a sincere interest as she began to speak.
“Con jesh na…” [of course], he smiled, the beard pushed back in the familiar Zurban smile… his Russian continued… “I would be ever so pleased to give yu away. It would make me proud to do so, knowing my sister has found a man who could make her happy…” the acceptance, and his smile, would surprise the apprehensive Kaelyn…
“My own grief shall not shadow yer own happiness…” glancing to the floor and then back to her… “And maybe, someday, yu shall be a bridesmaid to a love, should I find one…” he smirked, hinting that someone had given him reason to smile once again. “Now that Skye is free, and Adam is determined to set upon a renaissance, then maybe tis time for me to do the same… be reborn…”

That smile was enough to make her eyes mist up as she looked upon his handsome face. He looked more like he had when they had first met. Her heart ached for all he had endured and wished that she could make it go away but knew he was on the right path to healing his own sorrows.
When he had said yes to her question she could no longer hide her joy she lept toward him and wrapped her arms around him lovingly. She had missed holding him "Dmitrii.. do you not know that while you grieved so did I?? I loved Tory as well she was my sister. I am sorry about her death and know that if I could have been there to prevent it I would have?" her voice soft and laced with emotion. " I love him Dmi... with all my heart. He is a good man. I hope you to will get closer and that you can get to know the man he is." her smile was bright like the sun on a summer's day.
They spoke to each other in Russian and sometime Kae slipped into Arganian... it was a good thing that while in Inverness they had spent time teaching each other their native tongues.. or this conversation would be a mess. As it was for any in the house entered it would be comical listening to them chat.. she chuckled at the site they must make.
" Nothing would give me more pleasure than to be at your wedding and by your side my beloved brother.I have always form the day we found each other loved you and I always will." she laid one hand against his face and ran her thumb over his beard grinning at him.
His acceptance had been a surprise to her but she was grateful he understand the ways of the heart. For she had never looked for love it had found her... and blessed her in many ways.
" I have something for you but you shall not get until the day of my wedding..." she put up a hand to stop him from speaking " I want to share this day with you, for it is special on more than one reason to me. Do Not Be Late!" she teased him softly with mirth dancing in the blue pools of her eyes. " You know you look more like mother that I had first realized." she canted her head to look at him as she spoke... " They looked for you Dmi... mother and my father... she told him of you and he wanted to bring you to our home and raise you but he could not find you. I thought you should know that." she placed a kiss to each of his cheeks and forehead and then stood to leave, wincing slightly though she tried hard not to let on that she was still sore. " Thank you for coming and finding me...I will never forget that I owe you my life. I need to go... I have a wedding to get ready for." she winked at him and then smiled once more.
