Kae hadarrived with Dmitrii to his home that he shared with his wife. People were so excited that they began to shout and cheers rang through the halls. She was happy for them both at the precious gift they would soon hold within their arms. It had made her think of her own home and all that had been there at one time.
It was now time to see her own home and how it had faired since she had seen it last. With each step her mount took brining her closer to her beloved RavensCrest a multitude of emotions raced through her. Dmi had told her knights had found other lodgings in her absence many within the barracks of soldiers.
Riding up the long trail that led to the home that Darius had built for her memories began assaulting her... joy, sorrow, anger! All came without mercy she tried to close herself off to them. Suddenly there it was before her just as she remembered it... each stone had been placed with loving hands, each piece of timber cut with but a single purpose to create a home.
Dismounting she walked slowly to the door where a raven and a wolf had been carved... symbols of them both. With a gloved hand she traced the carvings, then opened the door and stepped within the home she loved so dearly. It was lit only by the sun coming in through the windows. The furnishings covered in cloths to protect them. She stood and looked at the empty space and if she closed her eyes she could hear the voices that once filled the silence.
Walking over to the fireplace she sat down and just listened not with her ears, but with her heart.Waiting for the peace she had always felt here to wash over her to soothe her both of mind and soul. She became lost in her own little world for a time and if any were to come she would not notice.
