As she stood looking out from the wallwalk of the Castle that was now her home. Katerina smiled... she had done what to most would be the impossible. Kat had united her clan under the Griffin and once more they prospered. Harvests were plentiful, cattle abundant, people happy... all was right in her life finally. She kept in contact with Lord Kendrew... for he had become a second father to her. She asked his advise on matters of the clan, and on life in general. His wife was always kind and like a mother/sister to her.
Corbin and Liam ever faithful in the duties as her personal guards... it made her smile seeing the two of them. Corbin the stoic scots and Liam the HUGE Norseman... like oil and water and yet a team to be feard. For they fought shoulder to shoulder many times as if they were of one mind. It had not always been so, but that was in the past.
Kat wondered if her mother and father would be proud of all she had accomlished in these past few years... though she was certain her mother would have wished her married and fat with child by now. She herself wished for that but the time never came, nor had she found anyone who captured her heart in that manner.
Kendrew had mentioned a time or two that she should marry and have a family but she just shook her head " Someday" was her simple reply for now she was content to be the Lairdess of clan MacKinnon... her duty to them and theirs. Her time would happen right??
She laid her hands on the stone wall and gazed out at the land feeling a sense of peace she thought never to feel after the all the hardships and loss she had been through.
