Early that morning a page would arrive and seek out the Lady Bess. Once she was found two parchments would be handed to her, one addressed to Caden Robertson and one addressed to her and the Duke. Once opened the one Addressed to the Lord and Lady would read...... Laird and Lady Aberdeen, I have already announced among those here in my Family that young Caden will be my Heir. I now wish for you and others to know, including Caden. I am currently unable to come to the Griffin Castle at this time but would greatly appreciate it if you would give him the news and a letter that will be sent with this one. It will explain everything. Thank you, Alexander Robertson Robertson Clan Chieftian

The notification, and subsequent discussions thereof, of Caden becoming heir to the Clan Robertson were not just partisan but divided as a whole. There were several legitimate heirs, two older than Caden, and one younger... too the heirachy would have to consider the claim one illegitimate son... who would be a thorn under the Robertson saddle, Iain...
The majority of the clan accepted Lord Alexander's decision of Caden becoming the heir, while a few dishearteningly agreed with their Leader and Lord. A few still more disagreed wholeheartedly and found themselves siding with Iain and ousted of any responsibility to the clan.
Iain Robertson is highly experienced in battle but is considered dangerous, having causing the death of his brother Daniel, who fell in combat merely a few feet from where Iain stood; though rumor twisted the events until it was Iain stabbing the heir of the castle in cold blood.
Iain having fled one step ahead of the Lord Alexander's soldiers sent to capture and execute him, found himself hiding in various villages... until, he founded himself a small band of followers.
Still filled with anger, he is in tent on returning to Dun Neville at its head. He would take it by sword, if necessary, to regain the lands fate denied him.
Proven loyal to Skye and Scotland, in many battles, Iain had proven himself worthy in the eyes of Robert the Bruce, but in the eyes of Alexander who favored Caden, Iain would never gain the Tànaiste....
This is Caden's legacy... with all he has been taught... and the backing of the Lord and Lady of the Isles... He may be competant, but can the boy handle it??
