"Why do you Drink?" Second night of Work

[Anulia of Amora]

Anulia of Amora- Night had set hours agoe, giving those who were currently staying within the Rose tavern a chance to finish their wanderings and duties for the day, then come back here and begin the night of drinking, loud talking and trading. The tavern, was now steady, with a good amount of people to create noise about the large hall like room, the sounds of mugs clashing, men laughing like a boom over top of each other, women gossiping as they gathered to talk of their day in the market place and coins hitting the wooden tables filled the room. The smells of roasted, fried and baked foods mixed with ale and whiskey took over the area, making it all the more inviting. Currently, Anulia had been moving about the tables, refilling drinks, taking orders for foods and asking those if they were well. So far..those she had spoken with did not care about who she was or what she looked like, only that she was serving their good and doing so in haste.

Sir Edan MacLeod -::He'd been to the docks earlier in the day to try to book passage on a ship, any ship, as long as it was leaving Scotland, but nothing was leaving for over a week. He was stuck here for now unfortunately, he might as well kill some time by getting wasted. He makes his way back to the inn he'd been to the night before, on foot this time, his horse waiting in a stable until he could leave. He pulls the door open and ducks inside, being six foot eight, most doors weren't big enough for him. As always, he was carrying all his weapons, he never went anywhere without them. A six foot long claymore and a broadsword strapped to his back, and a short sword and dirk visible at his waist. He wears both chainmale and leather armor over his tunic, over all, he was a rather impressive sight. He moves thu the crowd and over to the bar again, fortunately for everyone else there was an empty seat tonight, he wouldn't have to knock anyone off their stool::

Anulia of Amora- A few men in the tavern had already reached their limit, or so Anulia could only guess by Rose' words of how many people got drunk or three sheets to the wind many nights because it was fun to do. Anulia had never had alcohol before so she was unsure of the affects, but with how Rose had described it, it made people stupid? No...loose? She was not sure of the term...but relaxed seemed mild when speaking of those leaning halfway out of their chairs. With a large clay pot full of Sweet mead inside, she moved through the chairs and tables, careful to not bump into anyone, letting those skirts of red and black sway with her curved figure as she dodged yet another male leaning too far in his chair who almost fell and would have bumped into her. Chocolate colored eyes rose upwards when the door opened and in walked...a giant..a Viking?! She felt the fine edge of fear for a moment as she froze and watched the male move through the crowd to find a empty seat alone. No...he did not dress as what she now knew were Vikings. He was, the largest male she had ever seen in her lifetime and that left her to stare after him for a moment with her full lips parted slightly and eyes wide.

Sir Edan MacLeod - ::He was used to reactions like that, he got them most everywhere he went. What was really great, was seeing that fear on the face of his opponents across the battlefield. He lowers his massive frame onto the stool, his hands resting on the bar top in front of him. He looks around for a moment and spots the tender woman, Rose, though he didn't know her name, he just recognized her from the night before:: Whisky... ::Nothing more needed to be said at this point, he wasn't there for conversation or anything, he was there for alcohol. Maybe if he drank enough he could foreget about life for a while::

Anulia of Amora- For a moment in time, Anulia stood there watching the male as he moved, wondering how he moved such a large frame about without walking into things or going through the floor with his weight. He was not a chunky male, but one at that height must weight a good deal. She was simply amazed. Being only 5'4, most males were taller then she was, but one this tall seemed unbelievable. The sound of her name being called once, twice, a third time brought her from her spell so chocolate colored eyes could drift over to Rose who the male had spoken to. Quickly, the skirts were picked up and she moved towards Rose, receiving the order of the male in exchange for the clay pot of mead she had before she was told where to take it and whom it was for. She swallowed hard when she saw it was for the large male, grabbing the mug with both small hands to keep it steady, she moved towards the male, her hair that was in one braid swayed with her movements but not one drop was spilled as she moved to his table and placed it down very, very slowly before her hands moved away from it as it was stable and she stood up straight, moving those hands in front of her to clasp together at the wrist. She did not move away yet..simply stood there..looking at him.

Sir Edan MacLeod - ::At 280 pounds, he wasn't overly large for his height, and it was all muscle. He turns his head and glances at the woman as she brings his whisky over, his gray/green eyes studying her for a moment before he gives her a small nod and reaches out one large hand to pick up the mug and bring it to his mouth to take a hearty swig of the fiery liquid. He'd expected her to leave after bringing the drink, but for some reason she wasn't. He looks back over at her, a brow raising slightly as he lifts a hand to wipe his mouth and beard:: Be there somethin' I can do for ya...or do ya always stare at the customers...?

Caden- And in stepped young Caden and that white tiger cub of his. He still had her on the harness and leash to keep her out of trouble but she gave a little mewl as they entered and she smelled food. He grinned down at her and chuckled. " You eat annae more Annabel and you will get fat." He bent and rubbed her furry ears with a grin then let his azure blue eyes scan the room smiling when he spotted Anulia. Boy and cat moved deeper into the room to find a seat. (d)

Jrok57: ::She enters the Inn silently, as she makes her way across the old splintered floor of the room a slight sound is produced as her bare feet graze the hard wood beneath her. With a slight smile resting upon her sunkissed face she calmly made her way towards the bar. She is a young woman, in her early twenties perhaps. She has dark blood red curly hair that rests neetly against her thighs. A pair of dark eyes scan her unfamiliar surroundings as she continued to -stride across the floor. She wore a simple black silken gown that covered her bare feet as she moved. Upon reaching her destination she took up vacancy upon an empty barstool and patiently waited for the tender to spot her.::

Anulia of Amora- Those eyes. She had never seen a color like that before in her life time. She had to remember Aman-ud-Din's words that people with light eyes were not blind, it was simply a color that was one of many. Did eyes come in red too? Or purple? What wonders of the world she was finding! The nod was returned to him, knowing the gesture was a silent thank you or perhaps just someone acknowledging her. She did mean to stare, but she did not think it was overly rude. More like a compliment. Only when he spoke, did she show her nervousness slightly and answered with truth before thinking on it. " I normally stare...your eyes...are light, but you can see. How did your eyes get so light?" She asked without hesitation and as if this male wanted conversation. Curiosity of a child yet she was well into womanhood. She was staring so much so...that she missed Caden and Annabel coming in at the moment. No doubt she would see them soon. Who could miss them!

Sir Edan MacLeod - ::Okay, she was crazy...was everyone around here crazy? First the mad Irish woman dancing on the bar, how her, what was next? He stares back at her for a moment, not quite sure how to answer her, he'd never been asked something even remotely like that before:: Me eyes...they have always been the color they are, that be the way I was born. An' what does the color o' me eyes have ta do with bein' able ta see? ::He lifts the mug to take another sip of his whisky, keeping his eyes on her. He may not have wanted any conversation, but he was curious to see where this one would go, how could he not be?::

Caden- The boy of 17 sat in a chair then laughed as Annabel jumped into his lap making him "umph" as her weight landed. She was getting bigger and was little more then a lapful now and obviously playful at the moment because she began to gnaw on his hand in a gesture he had begun to learn that she wanted to play, not that she was hungry. He playfully shook his hand back and forth and she gripped it a little tighter and growled but was also gentle at the same time. The one time she had hurt him during this play he had severely scolded her and she had immediately apologized by licking the place she had bit too hard, and ever since had been gentle. His eyes as he played with the cub went to Anulia and the man he did not know and listened a bit to their conversation, hard to miss it when you werent that far away. He was curious to her thinking as well but then he already knew from their last meeting, and her looks.... that she was not from here. (d)

Jrok57: ::As she settled down in her seat her eyes continued to trace the the Inn and the people that had been there before she came. Her nails tapped lightly on the bar as she began to wonder where the tender was. Most likely he or she w as busy with another customer. She shrugged her shoulders a little then turned around in her stool to get a better look at the others in the room. She looked towards the woman and the man conversing and the other guy playing with his cub. After a few moments she figured out that the woman in conversation was the tender. Not wanting to interrupt she decided just to wait until she had a free moment, then she would ask for a drink.:: (d)

Anulia of Amora- Anulia understood when he said he was born with them, but why was the question? Why did ones eyes become light like that? In her tribe, everyone had either her color eyes or darker. There were no greens, blues or grays among her people. Only browns. "From what Anulia remembers...those with light eyes are blind. I have never seen people with light eyes unless they had become blind and normally they were very old or born as such.." She had seen two in her tribe with eyes whitened out or bright blue, stating the eyes were no longer of use to them. Anulia was a bit nervous as the male seemed to stare back at her making color rise in her darker skinned cheeks for a moment. Eyes wondered and drifted to see Caden and his companion and she gave a soft smile, showing those well cared for teeth before looking quickly back to the male, for it may have been rude to give her attention elsewhere after she stared.

Rose Keyes- The woman would not have to wait long, for the owner Rose was moving about as well as two other women, serving others as they came in. Rose smiled to the woman after giving Caden and his companion a wave before she spoke in her kind voice towards the new lady new comer. " What will you be having?"

Sir Edan MacLeod - Well, it be bloody obvious that you are no' from around here. Lots o' people 'ave light colored eyes... ::He'd never met anyone like her before, she was interesting, strange, but interesting. He shakes his head slightly, then downs the last of his whisky and sets the mug back down on the table:: Now be a good lass, an' get me another mug o' whisky, will ya? ::He follows her gaze to the boy with the animal in his lap, a few more people like them and he was going to be thoroughly convinced that this whole city was nuts. Good thing he was getting out of there soon::

Caden- Caden saw her look his way and offered a boyish grin. He sat back a little motioning to one of the girls and asked for a bowl of milk and a mug of ale. Then caught the glance of the man Anulia spoke with. He dipped his head in greeting just as a large fuzzy black and white paw batted him in the mouth making him laugh and take her paw in his hand and shake it playfully.

Jrok57: ::She did not have to wait long at all. After a few moments of sitting there a woman came to get her drink order. She smiled and nodded kindly towards the woman in greetings.:: "Good evening. I think I will just have a glass of your house wine, please." :: As she spoke to the woman she began rummageing through her money sack preparing to pay the woman for her drink.::" How much do I owe you for the drink?" :: It was her first time in the Inn so she did not know the prices.:: She held a pleasant smile on her face as she spoke.:: (d)

Anulia of Amora- Narrow and full dark brows moved down at the ends, making a strange curve form over them as she heard his words. Some of them she understood and some of them she did not. She was still learning this language and had only recently learned the difference between saying her name and saying ' I ' instead when speaking to another about herself. Anulia, did not need to be asked twice, though she was unsure what ' Lass' meant and hoped it was a kind word. A nod was giving to him, making her chin tilt downwards for a moment before she snatched the mug up, as fast as a snake would strike and moved off to go and get him another at the counter. Coming back with the same steady pace and both hands around the mug, she set it down once more and spoke what Rose told her too. "Four coins please.." said with a happy tone and a bright smile. Some had thought her dim, but she simply did not understand these cultures or how people were here.

Rose Keyes- "Of course." Rose moved off quickly and paused as she saw Anulia come back for another before reminding her to get the coins as she went along. A rich red wine was poured into a wooden mug before she moved back to the woman and set it on the table gently. "Two coins please.." she asked with that polite tone. Eyes moved up for a moment as she saw another lady move by with a bowl of milk and mug of ale..no doubt for Caden ."When you give that to him..go back and get a slice of meat for the tiger as well. She loves it.."

Sir Edan MacLeod - ::He keeps his eyes on her as she moves away to get him another whisky. He wondered if she was going to stay there and stare at him while he drank this one as well. When she comes back, he reaches a large hand into a pouch on his belt and pulls out the requested number of coins, then lays them down on the table:: Thank ya. ::He gives her another nod, then picks up the mug and turns his head to look around the room for a moment. Maybe tomorrow he'd see if he could find a pub with less strange people in it, normal, that's what he needed right now::

Caden- As the woman returned with the ale and the bowl of milk Caden offered her a smile and a thanks and handed her some coin to pay for his order. Then set an eager Annabel on the floor where she immediately gave a mewling purr and began to lap at the milk as if it were her favortie treat. Her tail twitched behind her as she lay nearly on her belly with just her butt up in the air as she drank. Caden grinned again then glanced around finally spotting the other woman who had entered. He dipped his head politely when he caught her gaze and flashed her a friendly smile before brushing his hand through unruly blonde locks.

Jrok 57- ::She smiled and nodded her head as she pulled out three coins and placed it on the bar infront of her.:: " Thank you Mam. " ::She then picked up the glass of wine and took a small sip then turned around in her stool so that she was faceing the others. Taking more sips of her wine here and there, she sat quietly observing the others. Just because it seemed like the only thing to do at the moment. Her eyes drifted towards the man and his cub for a few short moments then she turned her attention back towards her glass. She did not want to come off as rude or anything of that sort. Taking another sip of her wine she began to think she should have brought her work out this evening. At least she would have been able to get some work done.::

Anulia of Amora- "Welcome " she said once more and reached out her small, dark skinned hand for the coin. Trading disc as she called them. Heavy and smelled odd. She did remain for a moment longer, watching in awe as he took in the drink quickly seeming to devour it like it was water. If it tasted like nothing..why did people frow stupid from it or lazy? She could not resist asking another question. Why she seemed to have some sort of bravery with this male, she was unsure for he was intimidating, but sometimes that child like curousity took over. " Why you drink? You do not want to become stupid...Man with your build should never be in that state.." he could be dangerous stupid. more so with so many weapons on his person.

Rose Keyes- Rose gave a nod to the woman, taking the coin with care and then trotting off to another table for a while, speaking to those there and making sure everything was going well.

Sir Edan MacLeod - ::Apparently, he wasn't going to be rid of her just yet. He wasn't used to having an audience while he drank, and he didn't really like it, even if the woman was somewhat interesting. He lets out a small sigh after her question, why did she have to go and bring that up?:: I drink...'cause I enjoy it... ::He didn't want to take about the real reason he was drinking, and he wasn't sure if she'd understand it anyway. Hopefully telling her he liked drinking would be enough for her curiosity::

Caden- Caden's attention again went to Anulia and the man who seemed to be wishing she would leave him in peace rather then continue to ask questions, but how else was she supposed to learn. A book perhaps. He wondered if the library had a book that would answer at least some of what she wished to know, except that each person's reasons for drinking were different. To Rescue or not to Rescue. He pondered a moment then bent to release the silken rope that was used upon Anna's harness then pointed to Anulia. and whispered. " Go" He and the feline had been working on teaching her simple commands and manners. The feline looked at him a moment blinking silver eyes then ambled off toward Anulia and brushed against her legs and purred before sitting on the girl's feet.

Jrok57: ::Her glass of wine was almost gone now, a refil was looking to be in her future. She had not really planned on drinking more then one glass... but what the hell why not? She smiled then finished off her glass and politely waved down one of the bar maids and requested for another. After a few moments the lady returned to her with more. She paid the lady the same as last time. Three coins, making sure to leave the kind lady a reasonable tip. Just one more. that would be all she allowed herself this evening. ::

Faeren ni Tuatha'an- From the confines of the castle Faeren emerged, gratified to be liberated from the paperwork she was currently being submersed in. Not that she didn't like it, or hadn't done similar things before. It had just been awhile. The transaction from her life on a road to one of a Herald wasn't always an easy one. But, she welcomed change. She drank in greedily the crisp evening air, able to taste spring on the brink of it. A smile soothed over her lips and she made her way at a casual walk through the town. Wearing a predominantly sage green tunic to which flattered her image of fair skinned and red haired. And, of course, her violin case was in tow. Never found a moment far from it.(d)

Anulia of Amora - The answer was not one she expected, or maybe she was hoping for something a bit more detailed to help her understand why people drank like they did. Indeed Anulia was going to ask more on that, but the feeling a tickle on her lower, bare calf and jumped slightly before she looked down to see Annabel and smiled, letting a womanly giggle pass from her lips before she leaned down and spoke to the tigress in her own language. " Wraaa, Wraaa." She mimicked perfectly before standing up straight and turning to walk away from the male without another word said to him, moving to Caden with Annabel following right after her. " Eve Sir Knight!" she said with a wide smile.

Sir Edan MacLeod ::Finally, he could drink in peace...the only problem was that he was running out of whisky again. He shakes his head slowly before downing the last of the whisky, then he sets the mug down on the table and pushes himself to his feet. Maybe this was a good time to go look for some other place to get drunk, someplace without crazy people and wild animals. He gives one last glance to the woman, then turns and begins to head for the door::

Caden- A bright boyish smile was given to Anulia as she came his way. Anna trotted over and plopped down beside his chair her tail twitching as Caden stood and gave Anula a courtly bow. "Not yet a Knight m'Lady Anulia, but soon I will be ... A good evening tae you. How are you?" He pushed a chair out and offered her a place to sit at the table. He knew she was working but what would a few moments off her feet harm? He was glad to have found a familiar face in a still unfamilliar town, which was almost many times larger then the little town he had grown up in with not many more then 75 people.

Jrok57 ::Her glass was empty all too soon, but atlast it was and she had given herself a limit. She turned to look towards the window noticing how dark and late it had gotton to be. So with a sigh she stood from her seat, placeing one more coin on the bartop before making her way towards the door. It was late and she still had work to do. And with that she left the Inn.::

Faeren ni Tuatha'an- Eyes traced along the rows of shops, some of the Closed signs being put up now at this diminishing hour. She was in no hurry, for she knew there'd be plenty of whisky for her to indulge herself in. And...if there wasn't, well, there were plenty of other taverns. Or other drinks, at that. The back of the case knocked against her calf as she walked, a rather pleasant and sound expression having settled comfortably upon a freckled face. She turned 'round the corner and was now near the Briar Rose. And just as she was upon the door step, it opened to relieve a patron whom she instantly recognized. "Well, isn't it the giant of a man from last night, aye?" He wasn't hard to remember, and Faeren offered a smile. "Off so soon again hm. Yer really just one of those stop, drink, an' go laddies aren't ya?" She offered a wink and a smile.(d)

Anulia of Amora- Caden's way to distract Anulia and gain her attention had been pure brilliance on his part. When he stood and gave her a bow, Anulia's smile widened, making those full lips spread to show her healthy teeth before she pulled at the sides of her dress and did a courtly bow, though it was not as graceful as other ladies may have done. She was still learning ways to greet. "You may no be a knight yet, but working towards it.." she said with glee in her voice. As he pulled the chair out, Anulia watched with mild interest and rose on narrow, but full brow at him, unsure for a moment what he was doing. "For Anulia? Oh..Thank you" she moved to take a seat, though it was awkward to be pushed in towards the table and she had to wiggle to help him. So many strange customs here. "Anuli....I am good." If Anulia was not meant to sit, no one else seemed to mind. Rose even walked by with a soft smile on her face to the two before heading to help another. " How goes training?"

Sir Edan MacLeod ::As he pushes open the door and steps outside, he comes face to face with the mad Irish woman from the night before. This night was just getting better and better...:: Bloody 'ell. First ya dance on the bar for me, now ya be followin' me 'round. What does a man have ta do get away from you crazy people? ::He lifts his arms up and crosses them over his chest, his grey/green eyes looking down at the redhead in front of him::

Caden- Caden flashed another grin towards her. "Aye tis for you. Your welcome. " He retook his seat and again that oversized feline companion of his jumped into his lap. Pretty soon he would have to tell her no for she would be too big soon enough she would out weigh the boy by a good amount. but for now he let her and rubbed her ears wich had her illiciting a rumbling pur and closing her silver eyes to mere slits as he conversed with Anulia. " M'Training goes well Lady Anulia. I have practiced with the Knights once since we last spoke, and the rest has been spent on reading books and studing with the Historians."

Faeren ni Tuatha'an- "Ohh, tush, we aren't crazy. Mayhap just a wee lively." She grinned, but then instantly frowned and curved her lips, "An' don't flatter yerself m'dear, this is where I be nearly every evenin'." And just as quickly as the grin faded, it reappeared. Reaching for the door with one hand she tugged him insistently with the other so he should follow her. "C'mon now, yer standin' straight an' speakin coherently, an' by the devils as am I, I'll be obliged tah fix us both." It was an invitation and a proposal that she'd pay for the drinks. The Irish were of a generous kind. And certainly a chatty one, which probably didn't take long to figure out.(d)

[Anulia of Amora]

Jelenah D'vorak -- Jelenah would quietly make her way into the tavern, dressed in her pale green and creamed colored accented dress with a simple white shaw about her shoulders and arms. Hair was allowed to be free from gatherings or bindings as she made her way in and through the crowd of people that had gathered about this night. She would make a beeline to the fireplace as the small woman was a little chilled. Standing there and making some attempt at warming herself up

Caden- "There is a library at the castle used for teaching by the Historians. There are some books there that have nothing to do with history or learning but are just fun to read. " He grinned oh yeah the boy was in his element now, mention books and he could go on and on and on.... well you get the picture. He sat forward some. " If you like some time I can show you the library." he offered as eager blue eyes watched her.

Faeren ni Tuatha'an- She gave a rather curious look. Then shrugged. "Do want y'want," Without a second to spare she pushed through the door and headed straight for the bar.(d)

Anulia of Amora- Anulia was not a hard person to please. Or to keep her interest with because everyone had so many things to offer it seemed. "Tomorrow...Anulia is not doing anything but wondering tomorrow. Show me then yes?" she asked with delight in her voice. "Meet me at castle steps.."

Caden- He grinned and nodded. " Aye I tomorrow then Lady Anulia. But right now I should head back tae m'rooms. I am sure Ruben be flustered cause I am not abed yet." He grinned playfully to show he was teasing then stood and bowed to her again then fastened that silk rope in place and set a now sleepy Anna on her feet much to her dismay and she made her displeasure known by dragging her paws instead of keeping up with him.

Jelenah D'vorak- As she stood there before the fireplace, those blue hues would gaze about and see a couple familiar faces. There was Anulia, the dark skinned female who knew little english and she would offer her a warm smile. Then she thought she saw Faerin enter, nodding to her and doing the same with the smile that followed. Everyone else was pretty much strangers to her and so she'd stick to herself for now, at least until she got a little more comfortable with her surroundings. -d-

Anulia of Amora- It was nice to have a moment to speak to one that she hoped to call friend. When he rose, she did as well, straightening her skirts of black and reds before giving a wave to Caden as he moved, with a unhappy Annabel it seemed, out the doors. Anulia moved to grab his bowl and mug, before walking back towards the bar. Pausing a moment as she saw Jelenah and her smile. Hmmm. Anulia started to move again until she reached the bar and handed over the dirty dishes before asking for two warm teas with honey and then moving towards Jelenah. " Evening Jelenah.. would you like some tea with honey?" she asked and held the cup out to her. If not, Anulia could drink both.

Jelenah D'vorak- "Yes.. I would... and thank you Anulia.."She replied as she took one of the two cups of tea. "It is kind of you to think about others..." She paused, took a sip of the tea and nodded with a smile. "So, how was your day?"She would ask as she hoped to learn a little more about that fairly different looking woman. Although shy and timid, Jelenah did have a curiosity about others, sticking mainly to the women as she did fear the other gender and with good reason of course. -d-

Anulia of Amora- It was starting to get slow within the tavern, many were already drunk and ready to head to their rooms to pass out while some lingered about, eating still or drinking themselves stupid it seemed. Such was life, or so Anulia was learning. A nod was given to the woman of golden hair as she took the drink before Anulia took a seat in the chair next to her. Anulia had been working most of the day for her coins and was in need of rest. She was a hard worker, so when Rose passed by, she did not seem to mind. "Anul-....My day was good, strange. Still so many things different here...then my homeland." it confused, scared and even excited her to see such different people. Here..everyone seemed to have light eyes when in her village most had dark.

Jelenah D'vorak- "I see... and that is good. I am glad to hear that your days here have been ones with joy." Jelenah said as she knew it was hard to try and understand new languages and behaviors of other people when in foreign lands. Just think what this poor Ukranian woman felt like in times past, probably much like Anulia here. "Your days will get even better as time goes by, I am sure of it." Jelenah would add as she sipped on the tea again. "So, Anulia works here?"She would ask as she saw the woman cleaning moments ago and now gave her tea. Or perhaps she was simply helping out, either way, the golden blonde was curious. -d-

Anulia of Amora- Joy might not be the best word to describe her day, for she had some minor hardship even though it did not show. Many times she was called "Dim" or "Daft". She had no real knowledge of what these words meant but Rose grew angry with those people and scolded them as soon as she heard such. Leaning back in the comfortable chair, Anulia rose her own tea towards her lips and took a sip of it, pulling back quickly to blow over the cup before letting chocolate eyes slide back towards the fair skinned woman. Anulia gave a soft nod of her chin before speaking in that soft, womanly voice. "Yes. I work here for trading disc...coin.."she fixed as one slender leg moved up to cross very lady like and gracefully over the other, sending her sandaled foot to hover in the air and rock while the muscles in her legs danced as she bounced it. "What do you do for coin?"

Jelenah D'vorak- Jelenah would look to the chocolate eyed woman and nod. "Well work is good... it will help you learn words and their meanings by being around lots of people." She smiled with a hint of humor behind it. " I am a Lady in waiting... I see to the needs of Bess... the Duchess...Lady of these Isles. Do you remember which one she is?" Jelenah asked. "But sometime ago, I did just as you... I served many people in a land called Orkney. There I worked with Bess, and also with Lady Eirian." She added as she took another careful sip of the hot tea. -d-

Anulia of Amora- It seemed a lot of people were concerned on Anulia's learning which she was grateful for of course. Had there nor been nice people about, she would still be on the beach dead, perhaps eaten by some wild animal by now. Both narrow and full brows rose up slightly higher, showing their natural curves before she lowered them slowly as the woman explained. "Yes..I remember Beathag." she had seen the woman a few more times. Eirian, she had only recently met. The woman looked as if she were made a marble. Anulia had such women in her village, who cared for her, dressed her, bathed her and made sure she ate as well as learned. "I had much the same in my village. Two women that helped me during the day. Do you like such duty?"

Jelenah D'vorak- Jelenah sat quietly as she listened to Anulia speak and explain things. " Yes... yes I do. But it is difficult for me at times. I have to... " Jelenah paused a minute hoping she would word it right so Anulia wouldn't get confused. "I have to be string when around men.... I have to remind myself that not all men are bad, some are good. " The small fair skined woman would explain. She let her eyes roam over the darker features of the woman before her, thinking to herself that even though they were so very different in appearance, that Anulia was like some wild exotic flower, very pretty to look at. -d-

Anulia of Amora- Anulia may have looked away from time to time, but she was still listening to Jelenah with all her attention on the woman's words. A few more soft sips were taken of the drink before she eased it down to rest on her left thigh, while eyes rested on the fire. That was until Jelenah spoke of having to be strong around men. Anulia frowned, for she knew all to well what it was like to fear or worry one's self. "Does you fear men? Why do you worry over them? Or course not all men are bad. Though..telling who is friend and foe is hard, even when it comes to other women." Anulia remembered a few girls in her village that did not like her because of her looks. She was thin as a child and did not develop as the others did until she was well into her teens. It made her very different, all the more reason why she was chosen

Jelenah D'vorak- Jelenah would nod. "Yes, I fear them...and it is because some treated me very badly." She paused, let her gaze fall to the fire and she added. " I was a slave..." She glanced down at the tea and back to the fire. " But I escaped, and that is when I met Bess." Jelenah looked back to Anulia. " I found much good in her and other people in Orkney. I even came to be close with one man for a time. But... he had to leave" That was to sort of re inerate that Jelenah knew that not all men were bad. That she could be friends with them after she got to know them and knew they meant her no harm. Could be more and almost did but fate had a funny way to twisting things about. -d-

Anulia of Amora- Anulia's chocolate eyes stayed on the woman with golden hair as she spoke. It happened, Anulia knew because some had treated her badly as well, but she only feared that culture, not men in general. Men, had given their lives to protect her in her village. Sadly, all her warriors were now dead, not having been trained how to deal with the Vikings. Hearing Jelenah was a slave, made Anulia stare at the woman all the more. She was..like her. It was amazing, and yet sad. Anulia did not want anyone else to go through what she did, but to know someone else escaped as she had, she felt a sense of happiness that was sour and soothing. "I ...was a slave in many forms. The last, was cruel. Took lives of many I knew. Still makes me sad at night and I relieve those times each night as well." Nightmares Aman-ud-Din had called them. She did not want them anymore, but they lingered. " Same for me. Here, I must make a life for myself, for I can never go home. No one knows where I am from. " Anulia did not even know other places were out there until she became a slave. The world, was much bigger then she knew

Jelenah D'vorak- Jelenah looked to Anulia as she spoke, told her that she to had once been a slave. The fair woman was also pleasantly surprised that in all her time of recent, she had never met another woman that had gone through simular experiences. However, she was sadden by this as well, for Jelenah hated to see or know that others did, had or would go through such a terrible thing. "This is true... and I have done that many times. Make a life... and always, something happens that makes me have to leave." She would go on to explain. "But I am happy that I am here now, and I hope that this will be my final home. That I will no longer have to travel." Jelenah couldn't go home either, for two reasons. One, she didn;t know how to get there, and two, she knew there would be nothing for her to return to even if she did. Taking to the roads seem to be the only thing she knew a lot about. -d-

Anulia of Amora- Anulia knew no other life then that of her village. She was born there and had planned to die there. This was a odd twist of fate for her, but one that had both it's rewards and it's sorrows. She had found new friends, A new God to love her and was learning independence for herself to help her grow. Thirty one years on this earth and just now she was learning such. She was only glad she had much life left to live. "I am hoping to find happiness here as well. I have started to understand that I will never go back home and the more I think on it, the more I believe this is where God wants me to be. He gave me to others to help, now I am sent here. To do the same I think. I am told to not rush my path..so trying not to. It will never erase the mind's thoughts, but it helps ease the worries." Anulia had started to wear lace bound around each of her wrist to hide her scars, a gift from Tahirah so she did not feel consious about them, tonight she wore then to match her outfit. The steel had bitten deep into her skin around her wrist and ankles, making the skin never heal without leaving a imprint of some kind. She was bound in chains for months, until she bled. As much as Anulia was glad to share something with another, she did not wish to show her scars, for they were not prideful and with how she was looked at before by few, she thought they were ugly.

Jelenah D'vorak- Jelenah could sympathize with her whole heartedly. She knew exactly where the woman was coming from and it was nice to know that Jelenah had not been alone in that world of darkness. Jelenah had scars as well, on her wrists, ankles, and her back. She to had to endure the chains and shakels. And the scars on her back, scars from a lashing she got for disobeying and displeasing one of the enslavers. That on her back had healed quite nicely and was barely even noticeable now. However, those about her wrists and ankles were kept covered with the cuffs of her sleeves and long dresses, socks and shoes. Jelenah had shown only one person besides Bess those scars and even then when he had accepted her as she was, she felt ashamed. The golden blonde was still amazed as how much she and Anulia had in common, making her wonder if Anulias words had truth in them, that she was meant to be here. Perhaps Jelenah was as well*. -d-


Anulia of Amora- Anulia's had not healed so well. She would forever have great etchings in her skin from the bite of the whip due to the wounds being cared for poorly. Flies had settled on her back and laid eggs upon her skin so that maggots began to eat at dead flesh and she had to have others pull them from her so they would not bite into her skin anymore. It was a daily thing to clean each other of maggots and other parasites while on the boat. Those that were dead, were given the insects so that those who were alive could endure without them trying to crawl back onto their bodies. Quickly, Anulia pulled the tea mug to her full lips and took her fill of the drink now that it had cooled off. Both ladies seemed to fall into silence as they stared at the fire place. Finally it was Anulia that broke the silence. "Did the Vikings take you as well?" she asked, only having just recently learned what type of men took her by describing them to others and finding a name to their culture. She still did not understand them or who they were, simply that they were demons..and deserved what she called Hell.

Jelenah D'vorak- Jelenah would take a couple sips of her own tea as she gazed from place toplace, not letting her hues linger to long a time before shifting agin. They would settle on Anulia when the woman asked her if it were Vikings that took her. The golden blonde would give a shake of her head and reply. "No... they were men with dark hair, dark skin, and dark eyes." She paused. "They looked a lot like your friend... Aman-un-Din." That's why Jelenah stared at him so hard the first time they all met, cause he looked so much like those men. Sad thing about it was, she did not know the name of the type of men they were. All she knew was they had traveled from the lands of the hot desert sands. -d-


Anulia of Amora- Chocolate colored eyes looked to Jelenah as she spoke, so that light met dark when their hues were focused. Hearing that they were not Vikings made Anulia rise a brow. Hearing that they looked a lot like Aman-ud-Din..made Anulia frown deeply. Aman-ud-Din would never take a slave, that she knew of, but his people would? She looked away from Jelenah and it was plain to see she was not happy about something. She pondered on it, for not many if any looked like Aman-ud-Din and Tahirah. Anulia was the closet looking person to them here that she had seen. It made Anulia want to leave her duty now and go bang on Aman-ud-Din's door to ask if his people took slaves and why? "Where did they take you? How did you get away?" she asked, her voice much quieter then it had been.

Jelenah D'vorak- Jelenah was not insinuating that it was his people, or that it was not, just that the features were simular. She knew it had to be hard for Anulia to understand this maybe and hoped it wouldn't cause to much grief for any of them. Jelenah sipped her tea and stared at the fire again as she answered her next set of questions. " I am not sure... some say they were taking us to different lands to sell. Some say they were taking us to their homelands. I boarded many ships, and traveled over much land." She paused. "Shortly after the ship docked last time... they took some of us off to trade or sell." She looked to Anulia and the pain from that day was still there in the light eyes, but perhaps pushed back. "When we got a ways away from the ships and the sea... some of us revolted... did whatever we could to get free and ran." She looked back to the flames. " I ran so hard and so fast... I did not care where I was going, just that I did not want to remain there." Jelenah had ran so much so with three others, and for two days had managed to lose the men that followed them. Until the third day, tracks were found. Two other slaves were caught and killed, she and one other managed another day. Jelenah outliving the older woman who had given her life to save the youngerones. -d-

Odis Schleitz- His daughter was found, as word had come to him. Though he had gone to check upon the Willa, and she rested quietly in the castle. The healer had informed him that word would be sent as soon as she had awakened. While he didn't much care for that, it was better then wondering what ill fate had come to the young woman. He thought it was best to get out of the castle , instead of pacing in her room. The steps had carried him to the Inn, a pint would do him some good in reigning in the still smoldering anger. He had waited this long to find out who.. he could wait a bit longer. Besides, best to let folks believe he had gotten past that irational rage. Dressed simply in the tunic of a dull homespun green and brown britches.. he couldn't get used to the idea of a kilt.. a bit breezy on one's bits and pieces. The cloak had seen a few years though still seemed servicable enough. He carried no weapons of any sort, yet the broad shoulders and stout appearance tended to give him a good enough edge to get would be thieves at bay. The door was opened then closed as he looked over the interior. Offering the women a polite nod before heading directly towards the barkeep. " Ale. " And with that he claimed one of the barstools. <d.

Anulia of Amora- Anulia had felt anger a few times in her life. It never lasted long and was always over small things. Feeling it now, was soft inside her, like a humming that was not yet ready to surface. As delicate as she may seem she was still human and able to feel those emotions that everyone seemed to have and experience. She simply was better at holding back and had more things to be happy about in life then sad or angry. As Jelenah went on, Anulia listened. She Understood how scary it was to run for you knew once they caught you, that would be it. they would more then likely kill you for the attempt to run. "I am glad you got away. It is sad for those that do not." she said before chocolate eyes went to the door as it opened and another large male came inside, giving a nod towards them which Anulia thought meant he wanted service. "Be right back. "she said to Jelenah before uncrossing her legs and rising from the chair. Eased steps took her towards the bar and around it, where she placed her drink down as the male asked for a ale. Anulia rose her hand to tell the bar keep to move down so she could do it since the male had given her a nod. His mug was filled to the rim before she passed it towards him. "Three coins...and a question. Why do you drink?" it seemed to be her question for the day. Everyone had a different answer..most did not respond at all.

Jelenah D'vorak- "Sad indeed...."She simply replied back as a sound was made while the door was opened and then closed. A large man had entered, nodding to both women, and though Jelenah was shy and timid as long as men kept their distance she was fine. Giving him a nod in return before looking back to Anulia who was excusing herself to see to the mans request. Jelenah would smile briefly and nod, letting her know she would be right here if and when she should return. Jelenah would sip her tea as she watched, the always curious Ukranian woman gazing about with light blue eyes. -d-


Odis Schleitz- The brows lifted slightly at the dark skinned woman, more out of mild curiosity why she had insisted to wait upon him. Then came the question. The dull brown eyes studied the woman, and his considering the question before the hand removed the required coinage and set it onto the counter top. " Many reasons. This night, because I have a thirst for ale. " It seemed logical enough to him. He did not much care for whiskey, ale was far smoother and somewhat easier on the stomach. " Is it customary to inquire such from your patrons? " <d.


Anulia of Amora- It seemed the men were slightly touchy when it came to others asking about why they drank. The other gentleman from earlier said much the same thing to her. Perhaps if she answered their question, it would even make more sense to herself. At least this male did not mind her looking to him. Where was his hair at? She thought to ask that as well but held back. " Anulia does not know...I ask because I do not understand why people drink. It makes them dumb.. limp almost as if they have been poisoned. Where I am from...we did not have....alc-o-hall. Anu-....I have no seen people like this from a drink before. I am..curious."

Odis Schleitz- The quiet dusky chuckle escaped from his lips when the comment was given and the small nod was offered,. he had to agree. " When one drinks to excess , yes it makes them very dumb. " He admitted. " However, knowing the limits in which one may drink such beverages and stopping before one becomes stupid. Is the key. Most of the younger men and women have yet to learn this. " He pointed out. "As for why, there are some that consume the toxic waters to relax to loose the troubles that may bind their minds so tightly it is hard to think of anything else. " The man , for all his simplistic appeal seemed educated enough. The hand lifted to scratch at the three day growth of hair on his cheek, as he seemed for a moment in thought. The hand dropped and the attention returned. " And it is a pleasure to meet you , Anulia. I am Odis. " <d.

Anulia of Amora- Finally someone to explain the odd drink to her. She listened intently, leaning foward on the counter, perhaps a bit closer to the male then she should have but unlike other woman who would try to seduce, Anulia was completely innocent in her actions. "Toxic....poison.....I still do not understand why people drink it. Could it kill them?" Her people had some thing similar but it was more like smoke....a plant of some kind to help ease them into a relaxed state. "O...dis. Odis. Nice to meet you. Thank you for answering my questions. It is not hard to see that Anulia is not from here. People seem to get angry when I ask questions..how else can I know?" Anulia did not understand hand shaking so she did not offer her hand. Instead she smiled at the large male with the odd voice. It was not a unpleasant voice...one could even say it was soothing in a sense. "What do you do for trading disc?"

Odis Schleitz- " I have seen it claim a life of a few men, that carried it to great excesses. " he paused a moment, " You see, this, mug here will not kill me.. unless I were to always drink. To stay dumb, as you put it. Then it is damaging to the body and mind. " he didn't mind the leaning towards him. He kept his eyes politely away from the nude shoulders and any cleavage that may tease the eye. " And it is not that they are necessarily angry, though likely embarassed. For such drinks as ale, whiskey and wines allow one an excuse, to act as a fool. When inquiring as to why one would want to a be a fool. The mind must now give an answer or admit to self stupidity. " The thick shoulders rose and fell once more while he lifted the tankard to his lips. <d.

Anulia of Amora- Chocolate colored eyes went to the drink as he lifted it up and then back to his scruffy looking face as she lingered in her stare. He was teaching her something so she always gave her full attention and made sure it did not wonder. Had his eyes wondered, Anulia would not have thought anything of it unless he stared. There were some things she was naive about, even at age thirty one because she was sheltered. Full and dark rose colored lips pressed together for a moment as she thought on his words. She knew them, understood them but the way he placed them made her a bit lost, still she got the most of it. " One could act a fool without poison, but the poison makes them have something to blame. I understand now. " she did not blame him for missing her question because she realized that she had said it wrong. "What does Odis do for coin?"

Odis Schleitz- " I am a farmer. I raise cows for their milk and meat. " he stated quietly as he set the tankard down once more. " It is a far simplier life. " he was thankful for that. Or was until here recently. it was a silent sort of reminder of his own past life. And the secrets that held deep in the creavouses. He would in no way speak of it. That life was gone now, best to leave it within the past. <d.
