Scene --: Siol Visits Lucius THE TRUTH IS SOME WHERE TO BE FOUND SIOL MACLEOD
His dark brown eyes looked to Lucius, trying to see through the boy, yet he did not forget what the boy had done. Not even in his anger, did he forget that Lucius was a worth squire and now knight whom Kendrew trusted. "How, did you come to the conclusion that you could marry my daughter without asking for her hand in marriage to me? I know, you are not from this country Lucius, but surely where ever you are from, the people have manners in such things? You will tell me now, who else knows about this marriage?"[/ul] LUCIUS, SON OF BOLVERK He replied, earnestly. Lips pressed themselves together and he tried to hide the torment his mind and heart were putting him through from the honourable and proud man called Siol; it would be detrimental to his standing to appear weak and cowardly in front of him now.[/ul] SIOL MACLEOD He held up a hand to pause any talking as he moved closer and looked down at the male. Siol had no reason to fear Lucius. "What you and Siobhan have done, will hold serious lashes. Did you pause to think about what would happen once you survived? Now, you believe you are worthy enough for my daughter, yet you married her when you did not even see yourself as fit. This is not simply one matter you and the others have created, but many that unravel like a yarn. Rumors are already spreading about you three. Rumors that I will be left to deal with. Now, this fighting among you, of Skye and my knight of Macleod could turn uglier then the simply thrashing of swords. What if you win boy? Or worse..what if you lose?"[/ul] LUCIUS, SON OF BOLVERK Lucius answered, and even though his eyes were staring at the ground, his voice was strangely firm and constant. At length, brown eyes lifted to Siol. "I am more worthy to her because I have kept every promise I made to her, my Lord. I promised to never stop loving her...I still do. I know it is not lust...lust fades quickly. I promised to come back a knight...and I have. I did not think about what would become of others...and for that..I am sorry." Lucius cast his eyes back to the ground and swallowed hard. His marriage to Siobhan could be the undoing of everything...and that felt like a kick in the gut.[/ul] SIOL MACLEOD Siol went to turn, only to pause. "Should you die, what religion do you believe for a funeral?"[/ul] LUCIUS, SON OF BOLVERK And Lucius meant that. "I'll do whatever it takes to make sure this clan does not crumble...I can learn..but I love your daughter too much to walk away now...I've gone through so much already...I would be a coward and a fool to turn now. I am Christian, my Lord. Should I die...whatever funeral arrangements my father would see fit.." He answered and lowered his eyes to the ground. Silently, Lucius sighed heavily and the weight of fate and hope came crashing down on his shoulders. Struggling to stand, Lucius was trying to balance it all...for the sake of love, life, and the future of a clan.[/ul] SIOL MACLEOD In his words, he gave Lucius the first of many keys to what Lucius wanted. Ask him for her hand while in the presence of the clan. Save Siobhan from embarrassment should she be with child and without a husband. Without another word, Siol stepped from the cell and closed it behind him, leaving Lucius to his own thoughts. He would go through with it and for that, Siol had to hold respect for the man.
