Robert just turned back to the crowd... "Scotland is free... rally behind our new Guardian... give fealty tae the High Lord of the Gaelic Nations... and the alliances he has made..." He had made the commitment to Adam and Beathag...
Listening, he heard the clear words of his new title.... "He dun gone and dun it...." no sooner than the words came from Robert, that people nearby him began to bow deeper than usual... He didn't want to be King... Words are words... a pig is a swine or a pig no either name... he thought... But now he had the reins to the wagon... Looking upwards to Robert, he bowed and waved to his King.
"Did yae hear lass wot the King Robert said...? He dun wot he said he'd dae... Ah bae the Mo'r Triath..." Seeing her with the emblem of his Father, he swallowed hard... The Brooch... the truest form of freedom and reign that any man could have... He took it... held it high, for all those who saw the Brooch, knew what it meant and stood for...
Then he turned to his Bessie Eve, took her into his arms, and kissed her with the love and passion he had since day one... no fear of ridicule for public affections... he loved her... he promised her a home and safety... now he has accomplished all but ending his Father's threat... "Ah luv yae las... always and forever..." then together they held up the bejeweled emblem of Skye's truest hierarchy...
And so it came to pass, that Adam and Bess sat upon the elevated high back chairs looking over the awaiting audience. The High Scribe entered and held the document for Adam to see, read, and then sign in presence of clan leaders, generals, admirals, merchants, scholars, medical people... all classes, noble and peasant.
Adam nods and the High Scribe begins to read the document to all....
The Mo’r Triath ‘dair nan Gaidhlig Cinneach, High Lord of the Gaelic Nations, shall provide a concept of convening a parliament of representatives in various locations around the realm. It is understood that this is not yet a democracy, but a step towards establishing a government where that a king is not in sole charge.
The Mo’r Triath ‘dair nan Gaidhlig Cinneach shall retain Royal Prerogative of all member countries of the Gaelic Nations, until a time deemed by the Consolidated Council for independent nations to government themselves in a manner deemed useful and respectful for all peoples of that country. Royal Prerogative is a body of customary authority, privilege, and immunity, recognized in common law and in civil law jurisdictions as belonging to the High lord alone.
Exercising the Royal Prerogative shall only occur in emergencies or where existing precedent does not adequately apply to the circumstances in question or constitutional crisis such as a breakdown in the orderly operation of government.
Among the powers possessed by the Mo’r Triath ‘dair nan Gaidhlig Cinneach under the Royal Prerogative are:
• The declaration of war;
• The declaration of an emergency;
• The minting of monies;
• The dissolution of parliament and the calling of elections;
• The appointment and dismissal of ministers and governors;
• Clemency and pardon;
• The award of dignities and honors;
• The grant of Charters of Incorporation;
• The expulsion of a foreign national from any and all Skye lands;
• The creation of new common law courts;
• The creation of new universities;
• The publication of all statutes, legislative instruments and Orders-in-Council; existing and new
• The exercise of jurisdiction over numerous Griffin foundations of all kinds;
• The appointment of Commissions and Officers for any purposes;
• The accreditation of diplomats;
• The granting of Sovereign Immunity;
• The negotiation of treaties.
• The power to order a subject not to leave the realm;
The Gaelic Nations is a conglomerate of nations under the political and cultural influence of Skye. The Gaelic Nation includes the Celtic nations of Skye, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall, the Isle of Man and the former country known as England. Further included in the Gaelic Nations are territories by war or treaty and are managed by Governors; who are appointed by the Mo’r Triath.
The fundamental aim of the Gaelic Nation is to contribute, as an international organization, to streamline political, cultural, social and economic freedom within its realm. This includes:
• Fostering co-operation between peoples.
• Developing the consciousness of the special relationship and solidarity between countries and cultures.
• Making national struggles and achievements better known abroad.
• Campaigning for a formal association of nations to take place helping territories achieved self-government.
• Advocating the use of the national resources of each of the countries for the benefit of ALL its people.
Each nation is conditioned by a different history and so we must not expect uniformity of thought, but instead allow diversity to express itself within the Gaelic Nation. In this way, people may better recognize those areas of possible co-operation and eventually formulate a detailed common policy. With this, it is possible to work out which kind of relations between our communities will enable them to enjoy freedoms and liberties at both individual and community level.
On an internal level, the role of the Gaelic Nation is to work for the rebuilding of our respective nations as fully integrated communities. We should set aside our pettiness and greed, and promote exchanges and facilitate acquaintance of people from different countries with one another to strengthen our solidarity.
On the external level, we should let other peoples know that the Celts are determined to assert their nationhood and that they have original contributions to make to the achievement of more satisfactory relations between individuals and Nations. We are non sectarian.
Henceforth is why the Covenant of the Gaelic Nations was formulated.
