Dmitrii Zurban- Dmitrii had received the messenger at Castle Zurban, heard the call for his presence, and what had occurred with Lord Marshall and Lady Bessâ he was still upset that Adam had not taken him with, on the trip to Struan; especially since the threats were upon them all. Slipping the twins into the sheathes on his back,he went outside and mounted the already saddled Friesian. With a click of his tongue, and a Rus word, the horse initiated a high-prance trot. Before proceeding to the Castle, Dmitrii stopped by the weapons shop to pick up a special dagger he had ordered to be made. The owner informing him that it was magnificent.... Handing it to Dmi, the owner showed him how to operate it. Inspecting the dagger, Dmi smiled...again, it had been a long time since anyone, save one, saw him smile. With a flick of the wrist, the dagger opened and split into two sturdy halves... then he flipped one into the other hand, waving them as if to fight... "Not bad old man...not bad" then hands him two silver coins. Putting the dagger back together and shoving it into his boot, he turns to leave. Dmitrii swings up into the saddle of the large black… then as he starts to turn, he drops the reins… as he leans down, his leg across the saddle, something stung his thigh… pain wracked his body as he tried to sit up. The large black Friesian bolted... Dmi struggling to hold on… his leg not moving… finally, he pushed hard and heard something snap… then his leg moved, but the pain worsened Assessing the situation, he finds an arrow tip stuck into the saddle, the shaft broken off at the tip… the rest thru the fatty portion of his thigh. Cursing in Russian... "Not now Dammit..." he rides toward the Infirmary.
Aislin Creed Aislin had no choice but to leave Eamonn and Bess for she had other things to attend to even though she had wished to stay. So many things had become a wreck in what seemed like a small period of time. After moving back to the Infirmary, she already noted that much of the staff and healers were busy. The event in the town had cost many pains and aches, or serious injuries that needed tending. Much as Aislin had been instructed, everyone was to sigh a parchment upon entering or give their names to be written down, least any of the traitors try to give treatment. It had not been easy at first to keep order in that matter, but after a time, those that worked and spent much of their time here got the hang of it. Checking on Bess and Eamonn, she found that they were no longer within their beds but now upon the floor, making her call for the stronger of the men to come and help them to their beds. After she knew they were settled, the shouts of another healer, expressing more company coming, made Aislin sigh and turn about to come from the entrance to see people being brought in upon sheets. That was not something new to her, what was interesting and new was a face come charging towards the Infirmary. One she had not seen in some time. A name was not lost, but minor details were in a sense. Looking over the male upon the horse, she noted the first injury that could have been his reason for charging here. "Dmitrii..ah have nay seen ye in some months...it be good to see ye survived the war." her tone as normal was calm though not flat.
Dmitrii Zurban- Arriving at the Infirmary, the sit upon the saddle a bit awkward, he swung the wounded leg over and hopped down, Rus curse words following... blood staining the entry of the arrow shift and the side of the saddle. Using one of his swords he limped along until a guard noticed him. In the ensuing exchange of words, mostly Russian curse words, Dmi was assisted to the Infirmary. "I have not been to war yet Lady Aislin... I was..." then the guard bumped the arrow and Dmi popped him in the back of the head.... "Careful yu idiot..." he said with a Rus accent. I was on my way to the Castle when I stopped for a weapon I ordered... then wrap...something bit me... He pointed to the arrow... "Get this out of me so I can be on my way healer..." his tone gruff.
Aislin Creed- One full brow rose as Dmitrii spoke of not having been to war yet. So he was not in the war that crawled over Inverness? Interesting..where then had he been? It was truly none of her concern so she had let it go in the same moment it had come to her mind. When he spoke thickly to the guard, she sighed and waited for his attention to come towards her once more. Others were busy helping those wounded from the market into the Infirmary, that left Aislin and a few inside available. That was when that tone came out to her and while most may have gotten pissy about it, Aislin brushed it away, having no time and no emotions left to get upset about common words. "Very well warrior...come. Do nay expect me to be gentle if ye be in a rush..there be nay major veins to watch out for in the leg." she spoke as she turned on the heel of her old leather boots and headed inside to a room that was shared already by a male who's foot had been stepped on by a horse. Healers were taking the boot off him to show the foot swollen beyond normal size, turning black, blue and a raw looking red. A woman of blond hair followed in behind Aislin, taking her orders for the tools she would need and heading off quickly to get them. "Have a seat on the cot's edge."
Dmitrii Zurban- Dmi began looking around at the people who, some worse than he... taking a glance at Aislin, he smiled... "Isvhniti,,,er...I am sorry, M'Lady." Then he sat down on the cots edge... then motions the guard off with the wave of the hand... "The Lady Aislin is far capable then yu...return to yer post..." Then he smiled at Aislin... "To make myself clear M'Lady, I was in the war with Adam... he and Sir Richard saved our lives... I thought yu meant this war..." he looks down.
Aislin Creed- All else in Aislin's mind was pushed back so she could do what she was here to do and not worry on smaller details in the world such as her life and those she cared for. A mask was not the only thing Aislin knew how to put up, for emotions were also turned off at the drop of a hat. She had no use for them here, more so with a quick tongue as was just heard. They would only distract. When he told the guard to leave and said his sorries, Aislin did not change her demeanor. Still she had the calm expression upon her face as she turned to him and gave a nod, accepting in silence his apologies. If she had a arrow through her thigh, she might not have been friendly either. "Ah...ah see then Well it does nay take a smart person to see ye be in a rush. Ah'll be as quick as ah can be." The blond girl came back with tools needed, a bowl of hot water, a ointment and bandaging cloths, some thread and a needle in case it would need it. Aislin gave a motion of her finger, asking Dmitrii to turn about on the bed and prop up his leg on it, bending it at the knee to the heel of his boot was in the bed. Walking towards him. she pressed finger tips to the outer edge of his thigh and ripped the breeches a few more inches so she could see.
Dmitrii Zurban- Maneuvering into the position she instructed... it was awkward, and he felt exposed... then the rip and he flinched but said nothing... Twisting his head so as to watch, he saw her face. Taking a long look at her, almost to the point of staring, he pointed at her. "Now I remember..."
Aislin Creed- That flinch did not go un noticed but when the arrow went through the thigh like that...it was no wonder that every movement made would have his muscles shifting the piece of wood about. His staring made Aislin's eyes go from his wound to his face then back again. What was it? " Whut?" she asked before he pointed to her and said he remembered. Remembered what? "What is that ye remember?" waving the girl forward, she had her move around to the other side of Dmitrii to place her smaller hands on his leg and thigh, holding him steady. The blond smiled to the man before looking to his thigh and waiting.
Dmitrii Zurban- Growling at the aggravating pain, he grit his teeth, then spoke calmly... "When I first got here... I was cooling off in a stream and..." then the girl braced his leg... his eyes narrowing at Aislin... he nods and grits his teeth.
Aislin Creed- Slender fingers moved up to the end that was sticking from the top of his thigh while she cleverly placed her other hand on the lower end, curling those fingers about the wood from behind. Aislin gave no warning as she gripped it. "And ah was coming from looking for roots. Saw ye and though ye did nay belong where ye were.." she finished before she yanked from the bottom and pushed the top in, shifting the arrow down through his thigh all the way to the middle. His body reacted and the girl held on for dear life to stop him from kicking while Aislin gave one more fast yank, pulling the rest of the wood from his body without remorse only to toss it aside onto the bed and give Dmitrii his moments of pain.
Dmitrii Zurban- "But I was nak........" he grimaced... "Owwww, pezzdtez, chort, sueka..." he went thru the Russian repertoire of curse words... then he lay limp in a sort of anchoritic sort-of-way... taking a restful glance at the blond, he smirked and nodded... "Ye did good..." then he looked at Aislin... "Good job M'Lady..."
Aislin Creed- For reasons unknown, that made Aislin's lips twitch slightly as he spoke in his native tongue. What workings were going on beyond the mask, one could never tell it seemed. "Aye..taking a bath in a place ye should nay have been. It be Aislin...no 'my lady' in front of it. We be of the same place in a sense. " she paused and moved a cloth full of hot water to ring it out over the wound, cleaning the blood that welled and began to seep over his leg to be soaked up by the breeches. The cloth was placed aside and she reached to tear the breeches more before giving a nod to the blond to get the needle ready so they could sew him up. "Ye are nay the first male ah saw naked Dmitrii...ye will nay be the last."
Dmitrii Zurban- He moved his arms under his chin and watched the blond, giving her a wink. His words were directed at Aislin, but he watched the blond... "I did not know the land was owned... it was quiet, and the creek cool..." he shrugged... "Besides I was new there..." Then glancing back at her, he teases. "Oh really... too bad..." chuckling for the first time since Tory's death.
Aislin Creed- " It was nay owned..simply a spot that many go by passing. Ah would have chosen the lake for a more private area if ah was ye at that time. Y e do be bold to most.." she did not miss him looking to the blond girl and talking to her. The blond blushed, having never had such attention from a male before in her young age and seemingly liking the look and wink. She was not a unattractive thing, but was dressed more like a nun of the church then a healer. "Aye.. because they be the type of woman ah be..wanting to see naked men..roll over Dmitrii to ye stomach." The man was teasing and she knew it. In her profession..it was simply what happened. Thankfully, she did not experience lust like others so seeing a flacid member of every male that passed did not phase her in such a manner. "Where ever ye be going..these breeches will need to be changed from our tearing..where be ye going any way?" normally she did not care what others did but Dmitrii was close to Adam and that meant if war was close, he would know.
Dmitrii Zurban- Rolling to his stomach, he winked at the girl once again to see the blush, then he smiled wickedly, the light beard crinkling in the Zurban infamous fashion. "I will just have to get some from my home... someone can bring them to me..." then he got serious and looked at Aislin... "I heard trouble was here.. and that Kae, my sister, may be heading for a trap... but Adam..." he huffed... "Against better judgement, he left me here... said it would be to my best interest..." a single curse word in Rus... "Adam, I fear may be in for much worse... for they, the traitors amongst us know he is popular there... and may... well, we must protect those here...unless..."
Aislin Creed- One brow rose and the looks to the blond were ignored before he spoke. Kae? "As in Kaelyn? She be yer sister?" Aislin had not known that, but Kaelyn was a good woman to Aislin. her long since companion and Dileas was given to her by Kaelyn after Aislin had healed a wound on her. "She be in trouble...then ah shall make haste.." she said, already having the needle and thread ready to begin closing the wound. "Here be a piece of bark for ye to bite on should ye need it." the piece was handed to him before she had the blond wipe at the blood and began to stitch his wound shut. It was not easy for the body reacted with twitches and shakes to protect itself and keep the nerves alive which made her job harder, but with the blonds help, she was able to close it up tightly enough so it would heal faster. "Adam be in trouble...how much trouble do ye think? Did ye tell Bess yer theory?"
Dmitrii Zurban- Nodding... "Da... Kaelyn, she be my half-sister... same mother... I'll explain over an ale one day..." Laying the bark down, he shakes his head... "Do it healer...be done..." gripping the edge of the cot. Looking from the blond to Aislin, he shakes his head. "I am not sure of the extent he is in trouble... but if yu were the traitors, where would yu strike?" His concern evident in his voice... "How is M'Lady Bess? I heard she was hurt? and if she is hurt, t'would it not be dangerous to tell her husband is in grave danger?"
Aislin Creed- It was a question Aislin had never really been asked but had thought on a few times. War, was not what Aislin was born to do, but being a warrior's wife seemed to be her destiny and the talk of war was not known to her, nor was it hard to follow. It was a good question and one that she found herself hesitating over speaking of. "Aye..she'll be rushing out at first light to find him. If ah was her though..ah would want someone to tell me my husband be walking into a trap. Let the fates decide what is to come of action as they say. She be hurt, bad enough to keep her in bed for a few days but nay enough to let death come for a visit. If yer wife was in danger..would ye want to know? That be the better question Dmitrii." cleaning up the blood as she completed, she helped flip him over so he lay on his back. The front was not as large as the back, so it would be quicker to fix. "If ah were a traitor..I would try to separate those of power from each other. Much like a stick alone in the hands..it breaks quickly, were as a bunch are harder to bend and twist. making people feel comfortable in their place...helps things move quickly for my work. Betray ah think could work the same."
Dmitrii Zurban- "I fear for Kaelyn, but Raven is with her... I can get to Struan faster than Portree...and Adam only has twenty knights with him..." he listens to Aislin's reasoning, then she mentioned his wife... and his heart sank... his voice low... "My wife died defending Inverness, while I was left to die on a battlefield..." he rolls over looking to the ceiling... if anyone would see... a tear rolled down the side of his face with no sound nor other emotion. "Nyet...nay tell M'LAdy Bess, please... let her heal..." he covers his face with his hands... muffled words come out..."I shall go to Adam... my swords equal two of his knights... he knows that... just bandage me up..."
Aislin Creed- At his words of Kaelyn being with her Raven, Aislin felt some what better. At least those two were not parted as others seemed to have had happened. When he spoke of his wife though, Aislin sighed, knowing she said the wrong thing, more so when he rolled over and the emotion, but it from a single tear rolled down his face. "Ah be sorry about yer wife." what more could she say to that? At the asking of not telling Bess, Aislin sighed and finished stitching the front of his wound before carefully placing ointment upon it and wrapping it with help of the blond girl. "Aye..ah will nay tell her then unless she ask me. Ah do nay like to lie to family. Go to Adam....help protect him if ye can and be safe Dmitrii...perhaps it nay be time to see ye wife again yet.."
Dmitrii Zurban- "Nyet Aislin...Nyet...no reason to be sorry... I should be over it now..." then he pondered what she said about not his time... he could only smile and nod... "And what will ye do? they do not have a healer with them, it was a peace mission... and I do not trust those in Struan... maybe yu should go with me... just in case...?" he cants his head at her. "Maybe some wet nurse to care for yer..." then he shakes his head... "Nyet... stupid idea... why would I even ask ye?'"
Aislin Creed- A brow rose once more before sliding down on her features at the suggestion. It was a good one..one that she could get away with. "Leave us..."she said to the blond. The others were a bit away and dealing with the man who was shouting in pain. Once the woman left, Aislin spoke low. "Ah can nay go until my husband leaves...for if he knows ah have gone..he will be besides himself and he needs to be focused on the war at hand should it come to that. Later.. if he leaves for war..ah plan to sneak to war. Ah can nay move sooner then that...or all will be ruined. It be a good idea..but nay the right time. Ah have a trusted friend helping me get there, but there be no promise that he may go...ah must go this time though.." she was not sure why she was telling Dmitrii this..perhaps because he was not tied to anyone she knew save Adam and Adam did not know Aislin or Eamonn well enough to step in like others. He was a outsider in a sense.
Dmitrii Zurban- Dmitrii leans upon one hand on the cot and stands. Grimacing but not in the pain he had moments ago. He looked at her when she told the girl to leave them, an odd look upon his face. "Yu realize it is different and dangerous in the field... not like sulking in the forest..." he nods... "When does yer husband leave M'Lady... "Why must yu go? what draws yu to battle M'Lady? His hand unconsciously swept to her face and pushed the hair away
Aislin Creed- Aislin knew the dangers. She did not plan to be in the front, but she was not naive enough to believe it could not come to her. "Ah go for my own reasons..ah be no stranger to the sword or bow. Ah can use them with skill. If my brother in law be in trouble and ah can help..then so be it.." when Dmitrii stroked his hand upon her face, she reached up to grab his wrist gently and pulled it away. "Ah have no need for touch Dmitrii...ah do nay like it.." she said calmly and without a bite before continuing on." When ye leave...ah shall go with ye to help Adam.."
