Ireland
The Prelude -
There have been a series of localized rebellion in the area known as Ulster, wherein the clans that were loyal to the former Ceannfort and her consort, have begun to wreak havoc among the English prizes: sinking ships, skirmishing with infantry, stealing calvary horses, and causing chaos among the local structure. Sir Andrew Flynn, Govenor of Ireland, has sent for reinforcement. In Skye, a group of Irish captains from the battle of Raasay sound have made plea for citizenship and saving of their families, trapped in Ireland and unable to escape. First hand accounts of the horrors are given, and the Duchess grants them immediate clemency and decrees that any ships the Fleets can reasonably spare must be sent to Ireland that need their help. During the mention of the accounts of terror, one of the Captain's mentions a fact that the Admiral could never have been prepared for. His father: Sir Andrew Flynn, has been made the Governor of Ireland. His orders have been coming from none other than the King's Advisor on Territorial Matters and the Red Bull himself, William Maubrey.
Somewhere in Ireland, a small girl of no more than nine finds a piece of parchment. Finding the ribbon attached to to the red and black seal pretty, she has carried this trinket with her on the ships that have cross over the ocean to a place where she begins a new life. When an agent of the Griffin is sent to meet the immigrants, the girl asks him to kindly take the ribbon from the wax, for she wishes only this now for her hair. She can't read, she says, and the paper is holding her trinket. Pulling back the ribbon cracks the seal, wherein these orders can be seen:
"The Griffon comes for Ireland. If ye can't stop the rebellion, you will destroy everything and leave immediately"
William Maubrey
The Invasion -
Making use of the general open rebellion in Ulster, the forces of Skye make their move. The remains of the Gold Fleet and the White Fleet set sail to free Ulster. Needless to say, given his past, Jack has given thought on how to take Dunluce castle. Kendrew is given command of Skye's ground offensive, with Jack having him split his forces in half. Half of the force is sent to Portballintrae and the other half is given to Portrush. From there, they can envelope Dunluce in horse shoe pattern. Agreeing to this, Kendrew also believes that the forces should be equipped in the old manner of spears and tall, heavy pikes, forgoing the pole arms for this is no stylized battle. There are Irish men that have come to join them, having nothing else but spears, axes, shields, or The Naval Skirmish seals all escape.
The Naval Skirmish -
This happens as Kendrew goes to close the horse shoe formation with his split forces of Skye, Jack leads the combined Irish and Scottish fleet into Mermaid's Cove. Due to the Battle of Raasay Sound, there aren't many English ships in the harbor, but the battle will still be ardous, victory is night for the forces of Ireland and Skye however!
The Siege of Dunluce -
Once Kendrew's forces meet up, and Jack seals off Mermaid's Cove, the English garrison cannot retreat. While the English attempt to put up a spirited defense, it is ultimately futile. As the Griffin ships shell the castle, Jack leads a raiding party in long boats into the cove -- and up a secret passage that leads from Mermaids Cove and into the castle for the retaking and any final confrontations.
Retaking of Dunluce -
Realizing that further fighting is futile against the menacing, mad dog Irish, the fighting ceases and English prisoners are collected after the completion of the siege. Among these prisoners will be Sir Andrew Flynn and man, press ganged into service from the clan of O'Cathasaigh (Casey) with a strange story to tell that will foreshadow to unknown events in England...
