For the Love of a Clanned Princess NO EARTHLY BOUNDS CAN STOP EVEN THE MOST STAR-CROSSED FROM LOVING..
LUCIUS, SON OF BOLVERK
He asked, his voice as level as he could make it and his eyes searching her own. By now, his hand released her arm, and was now held at his side.[/ul] SIOBHAN MACLEOD It may have sounded selfish, but she was heart sick in so many ways. Lucius confused her; her father was leaving for war again in her life time. She missed her mother greatly, but knew her duties kept her here. Eyes stared at him as he confessed a love for...her? His words poured into a melted heart; already un frozen by the emotions he tugged and pulled at, along with her father's brave words. She was silent for some time, staring at Lucius. It was true, at first he was nothing but a servant to her, a squire who was excited as most boys were, but look how far he had come in such a short time. Did she love him in return? She thought about him often, how he did not hesitate to save her life and risk his. His strange maturing had grasped her and she now felt behind and slightly unworthy of him. Title was simply that, a name and place. It meant nothing on the morals of a person at times. She was young, perhaps naive to many, but her father was right. To be cold was to miss out on the wonderful things in the world. Almost being captured and killed had put a new meaning to that. Lucius was going to war...she might never see him again. Would she let him go as she had last time? ``Lucius, I love you as well. I do not know when, or how, but I do love you. You are stronger then I am, courageous, faithful and loyal to your calling. I have never known someone with such high dreams as you and you are moving in such quick directions that I respect greatly. Title wise...you are not yet worthy in the eyes of others for me, but in my mind..I am not worthy of you yet..``[/ul] LUCIUS, SON OF BOLVERK He retorted, trying not to beg her to say something, anything. Her silence was torture...why was she so silent? Did she not feel affection for him. Finally, after who knew how long, her answer came forth. She...loved him? She loved him! His eyes widened a bit, part of him expecting her to say she did not love him just as she had told Seamus in his room that night. How now her words were so different...his heart was glad and all but stopped in his chest. Title wise, he knew he was less than worthy to have the love of her, a clan princess, but in her eyes--which were what truly mattered--he was. Not worthy of him? Lucius shook his head quickly and his hands took hers, clasping her slender hand between his larger ones. ``In my eyes you are worthy...to me you are worthy, Siobhan. You gave me honesty...you admitted what you never would have before to me...I have not forgotten your words to me...the day you spoke plainly to me...why you were cold to me. I did not care that you hit me...by my words I deserved it, but my affections for you have not diminished...I still love you...that night in the woods...I feared what those men might do to you...I would die before I would let a foul hand harm you...`` He went on, before raising her hand to kiss her knuckles fully. His bandaged hand was warmed by her palm, feeling the heat of it. Lowering her hand, he could not bring himself to release it. She had no idea how her words touched him...if he died tomorrow, he would die happily, knowing that Siobhan loved him.[/ul] SIOBHAN MACLEOD It was so honest to say that it hurt her heart. She prayed she would be a better woman..a good woman. She knew nothing would sway her loyalty. ``Thank you for saving me..you did not have to, but you did.`` She was worthy to him..in his eyes. She could still remember when he told her that anyone would become a knight just to hold her favor. He had it, she knew he did somewhere on him or in his room. His journal..she could not resist peeking. His feelings, so raw and words so solid. They were more alike than they knew..before she could say more, the stable doors opened and one of her guards looked in to ask if she would be finished soon. She looked forward to see Lucius ducking low. ``Not yet..I may be a while. I would like to brush him out and think for a bit..`` With a nod, the guard closed the door and remained outside. Looking back to Lucius, she smiled softly. Mostly at him hiding. ``So clever..`` she teased. [/ul] LUCIUS, SON OF BOLVERK He replied quickly. While her words cut deeply that night, Lucius tried not to linger on them. He wanted so badly to pretend that they were rash and said in anger, not meant. Quickly he was learning her fiery temper. Siobhan did not need to thank him for saving her...she would never have to. Whenever she needed help, he would be there for her as fast as feet could carry him. But, before he could reply, the sound of the door touched his ears, and without thinking, he quickly ducked down low, below the side of the stall and out of sight. It wasn't until he heard the doors closing that he released a breath he had not known he was holding, and eyes looked up to her, his hands still holding hers. Clever indeed and all he could do was smile...a true smile. Rising up to his full height once more, he could not help but pull her closer to him, kissing her hand and knuckles once more. ``I would give my life for you, Siobhan...you do not need to thank me. You have but to ask of me, and I will give it to you willingly. Even now...I hold that strip of fabric from your skirt close to me...`` He whispered, lowering her hand again to reach for his sleeve and unbutton it. Without hesitation, he pulled it out. ``No gift will I ever cherish as much as I do this sample of your skirt...because it is yours and you gave it to me..for luck...and if your love it has brought to me...then it truly is lucky.``[/ul] SIOBHAN MACLEOD She had not said if he were higher in position, but said if she were lower. She also left out the but part, where their parents would not approve. [/ul] LUCIUS, SON OF BOLVERK[/ul] SIOBHAN MACLEOD Marry...he would marry her willingly, without the force of her father or his. What if he did not come back? That truly scared her, much like her father not coming back. ``Lucius.. what if you do not come back? We would never know each other's love.. this would be for nothing..``[/ul] LUCIUS, SON OF BOLVERK[/ul] SIOBHAN MACLEOD She laughed and smiled, jumping partly into his body more as she held onto him. All her trust was now in Lucius.[/ul] LUCIUS, SON OF BOLVERK Lucius whispered quickly, before stealing one last kiss before he pulled himself away from her and hurried out the back as the front doors opened and her guard appeared.[/ul] [Exuent.]
