Maahes: The night was dark, much darker then it has been for many months with the threat of war growing stronger. The night lights of the town had all but gone out as the hour grew late. Yet the sounds from the Briar Rose held high within the sky with drums and strings coming together as one song that moved the feet and raced the heart. Faster faster dancers spun on the floor laughing and cheering as tonight there was no worry. Tonight behind their bottles they could be in peace, and serve only themselves...or the woman next to them. Maahes took the hand of his wife who had been ordered on bedrest but tonight they broke every rule. Tonight he wanted to take her and let her ease her mind. Tonight he wanted to love her in public just as he did behind their door. Tonight he was not a General in an army but a man who loved his wife; and a man who worked part time at an Inn his beloved friends all ran. (d
Ealora: Thank the gods he broke the rules. She was not going to protest when he offered to break the preverbial chains that bound her to bed and offered to take her down to the Rose. It was the one place she could calm, she could smile and she could laugh, even in all the happenings, it was one place people could relax. Leave your trouble at the doors. It shoulda been carved into wood. With a kiss against his cheek, she released his hand and sent a hand into his back to push him to the bar while she found a comfy seat by the fire to observe all and of course be observed!*
Peregrin: Laughing like the fool he was, he perhaps would be the only dancer on the floor, and in many ways loved it. Peregrin needed no woman or man to make his night; all he would need is a good beat, and a dance floor. Blonde strands of washed hair fell around his face as his dance partner would be dipped back and her laughter would rise as his lips touched her neck lightly. (d
Maggie: A rare night out on the town for Captain and his lady... brought them into the briar rose .for dinner and.. it seemed the snows had piled high and made the roads impassable for the couple to get back to their sea side cottage.. but they were confident in Lisbette, the nannyhousekeeper.. to tend to Seanna and took the night as a rare getaway.. perhaps a prehoneymoon.. ? who knew?(d)
Danae: Danae made her way into Inn, leaving Majesty to the stable keep whom she had come to know rather well these last few nights. Between rides from Turas Lan and Red Wall, she needed a good comfortable place to rest at and just be herself. She had been spending a lot of time with a few friends and it had done her a great deal of good. Aman-ud-Din, Anulia, Alendral... all were great people but she enjoyed the larger crowds too, like the one she was coming into. Icy blue hues quickly shifted about the room as slowly a smile began to creep across full lips while she moved to take a seat at the bar. -d-
Ealora: "Hey bartender..."She called to Maahes as she lowered herself into a chair and cupped her swollen belly between her hands with a grin. "I'll pinch that delicious behind of yours for a hot cider?" She offered with a wiggle of her eyebrows before Danae caught her attention"Danae!" She called happily to her friend. Glad to see her, but also wanting news of Red Wall and the refugees. If to give her one last bit of information to ease her into a perfect calm.*
Jack Flynn: It seemed as though the two had been called out upon a matter of business at the Griffin Castle, because the Irishman was somewhat formally dressed in his naval uniform. Although, it would indeed be an interesting sight to see the Lord Admiral open the door for the lovely Marguerite la Travalle ... a Lily that the Irishman had plucked for himself. Once the pair of them were inside, the Irishman would help his Lily remove her cloak. Once he had unfastened Marguerite's. cloak, he gave it a light shake before hanging it upon a peg. This was soon followed by his own great coat. (d)
Maahes: "Is that my payment?" His voice rumbled over the boards of the bar as he gave her his back to fill the cup as she pleased. Like she even needed to offer any, that woman had this man wrapped around her little finger. Turning he would toss his gaze to the woman he knew very well, "Danae you still drink that tea?" Questioning her with amber eyes that dared be corrected as he sat the cup down before his wife. (d
Ealora: "Well, that's not all your payment. I would tell you more but fear making you and others blush."She teased in return and yes, the woman reached up to pinch the behind offered to her. She wasn't going to miss THAT oppurtinty. As the mug was slid before her, hands moved to slide around the warmth radiating from the cup as she leaned forward to inhale the tangy and sweet scent. Mmmm. Jack and his lady caught her eye and she gave him and well Maggie a sly grin. So did he buy that dress she was wearing? Mused in her mind none the less but it was a sly and welcoming hello of a smile.*
Danae: Danae continued to hold that smile as her things were put away and she moved to take a seat by Ealora. "Hello there... how are things?" She asked as she looked from momma to be to the father to be and back. "All is well with everything?" She paused a moment. "Oh, and just so you know... things are fine back at Red Wall. I've been keeping the men rotating and seeing to somethings myself." A glance and a nod to Maahes as he asked about the tea. Aman-ud-Din had got her to drink that and coffee more lately than the usual ale or wine. -d-
Rosalind: God had a wicked sense of humor when it came to Rosalind, she was assured. When all seemed to go right in her world, something always took a turn for the drastically wrong. That 'wrong' had just presented itself as a snub from the Pope himself and the news that Clan Lamont had entered Skye. And so Rosalind did what any woman in her situation would do. She decided tonight was the night to get drunk. She showed up at the Briar Rose with two glasses already in her, and for a teetotaller, it was enough to put a flush across her cheeks. *
Peregrin: The brightest of blue hues fell upon the Captain and his very tasty choice in a lady...meow, and the woman he was dancing with would be left to be muse to her own mind, Quickly to the door he pressed himself, "Captain Jack Flynn." He started with an extend of his hand, "Peregrin, Sir you don't know me, but my ship rests in your harbor. Yours. I'd like to enlist..to where would I go?" He of course didn't want to intrude on their night out, but..hey he was feeling outright adventurous tonight, and simply just wanted to make himself known..what starting rank wouldn't? (d
Balian: Thundering hooves battered the cobblestone heralding the coming of the Pale cloaked Rider of Turas Lan. Tearing around the street corner at a hard charge the Marshall leaned low into the saddle, long locks of wheat whipping back behind him. Just before reaching the Briar Rose the reigns were drawn back slowing the piebald war stallion to circle it back. Icy blue eyes took a gleam in the failing moon light above while pearly whites bared chilled blue lips before the deep rumble of a snarl erupted from within the Knight. His left gloved hand reached back over his shoulder drawing the infamous black woven hilt of the nameless sword releasing the familiar melody of steel justice into the winter silence before the blade was spun forward in his palm and raised before his eyes. He stared back into the shade of the street in silence, waiting. [d]
Maggie: It was clear to all that she adored him as much as he adored her.. the age gap not withstanding sly dog that Jack was, at 42 in the prime of his life.. and it showed in his choice of Lady.. at 22 some 20 years his junior. She still had the satisfied blush of vigor on her cheeks.. what does not kill us makes us stronger.. and Jack was a strong man.. indeed... Her cloak removed a warm hand at the small of her back both claimed and guided her to a corner table... seated she removed her gloves.. with soft words of thanks to him for removing her cloak.. a warmed hand caressed his cheek tenderly.. " I feel like we are being naughty skipping class or the like.. being out alone.. is that terrible of me.. to want you to myself.. for a bit?" (d)
Wolven Men: Through the bright of the night, darkness fell into swallowing nightmares as silver fur stood up on the back's of their spine, and deep yellow eyes rested upon the horse with rider. I'm hungry the man's eyes said without words, as a crazed night always brought out the best..or so it seemed. Under the furs of a wolf a man's body lay twisted like a ghost waiting for his escape. "Going inside, Pretty boy?" His voice hissed under the hood of the cloak as he and three others circled the Lord Marshal. (d
Danae: Icy blue hues from the Greek warrior turned toward the door and noted several others entering. Should any of them look her way or make eye contact, they would be greeted with a nod and a smile. Yes, even the Pirate Perry. She had moved on despite what others thought. It had been about damn time and she wasn't wasting anymore on him or any other fool that dared to tame the Greek Fire. Her foucs now was herself and her friends... those she considered family, protecting the people of this kingdom and those of Red Wall. She had other things to worry about now and to keep her busy, which was just how she liked it. -d-
Maahes: Setting Danae's drink down his eyes fell to the door where Rosalind parted ways with the crowd, "You look troubled tonight.." Though they were not ones to speak often he knew the woman from other nights as this, but could clearly see upon her face the weariness and trouble..masked of course by the drinks in hand. (d
Ealora: "Thank you Danae...you read my mind.."A soft smile played over her lips as she took a drink from her mug and hummed her delight. "Everything is going very well."Lets leave out the early labor that had been put to rest and well, supposedly her as well. She was supposed to be in bed, but clearly she was not. Celadon eyes shifted to watch the crowds moving in. Popular night...*
Rosalind: For so many reasons, drinking to excess in the privacy of her suite of rooms was not a possibility. She left as quietly as possible, though her distinctive gait would have been recognizable should anyone have gone in search. They did not, and she entered through the door alone, already glad to hear the swelling noise of a great crowd. There was some anonymity in it as she entered, made her way through the crowd, and settled at the bar. If any looked up to see her, she would smile and nod, still very reserved beneath the flush of red wine. She glanced up to Maahes and chuckled. "Troubled is a fine word, Maahes. But they can wait one night more, yes?" *
Balian: No more then a bat of an eye lash was granted from the disciplined knight while his gaze fell upon the soon to be dearly departed creature of the night. "Maybe when im finished." He rolled his shoulders back and tilt his head just a little while he became circled and flanked by the wolves. "You are making a grave mistake." His grip would tighten against the steel before the blade was spun backward once more before his heels snapped back into the flanks of the stallion, rearing the horse onto its hind legs before it lunged forward and the sword was brought down to collect the chest of the wolf to his left. [d]
Maahes: "In my mind they can wait one more month. I will be father then to my own. Will give me the reason to press on." He smiled to the woman leaning on the bar, "Have you met my wife?" (d
Jack Flynn: Cursed and cruel was Fate, or so it would seem. No sooner had Maggie spoken those words, that the pirate chose that very moment to make his approach. The Irishman was quiet for a few moments, content to leave the younger man standing with his hands out stretched for a few moments. Just enough for the Irishman to remove his tricorner hat and lay it on the table. Only then would the Irishman speak, somewhat coolly, ".... It's 'Lord Admiral Flynn', good sir." The Irishman quietly turned toward the man, clasping his arms behind his back. "While I appreciate your enthusiasm to serve the Griffin Court... " Jack was quiet for a few moments, before continuing, "Sadly, this evening finds me bereft of the necessary documents for your Letter of Marque..." There was a moment's pause, before he began to turn back toward his table. "The Admirality's office shall be open tomorrow mor'n. Approach the Master of the Watch at the naval yards and state your business. There, one of the junior officers will be content to assist you in engaging a Letter of Marque." (d)
Danae: Her gaze drifted from Ealora and Maahes to rest on Rosalind. She remembered her from the night she had sat with Aman-ud-Din and Anulia, sharing bread. "Good evening Rosalind, that is your name, correct?" The Greek woman asked, making sure as it had been a great deal of time since then. She nodded and smiled to Ealora and knew the woman as well as Maahes would be asking how Red Wall and its people were. -d-
Wolven Men: The shrill cries of the wolf in the end of it's life echoed down the dark cobblestone sending chills upon the spines of those roused from their slumber. However where one cried of it's pain, the other would cry of it's rage pressing forward on it's attack and lunging at the man with all it's might--pressing from it's back legs to bite for the man's shoulder. All the while the one who sat upon two legs, human lurking behind a mask pulled a blade from it's hilt, and the sound would be his battle cry as steel came from leather. "ALL OF SKYE WILL DIE!" He cried like a fool in love, confessing his sins by twisted tongue. Lunging for the man he would counteract the wolves strike and barely give the man time to react if he would dodge with ease the wolf. (d
Rosalind: "Maybe..." doubt crept into her eyes as she glanced at Ealora, but was quickly replaced by warmth. "One month more! Gracious, time is a strange thing." She smiled. "It is. Rosalind. And...Ealora, oui? Such a distinctive name. Maahes, I need something stronger than wine tonight. Much, much stronger. Whiskey-stronger." *
Maggie: Her eyes lifted to the pirate as he approched her finace` a dark brow quirking with minor irritation at the intrusion..but was quickly masqued with a enchanting smile.. cobalt hues lifting behind dark lashes to study the one who seemed unaware of social custom.. when approching their betters...he looked like a ruffian.. perhaps a ranger or something.. she repressed a slight shudder.. the cold of course...(d)
Maahes: "Nothing wrong with her name though right?" Dark eyes settled upon the woman across from his as he uncorked the entire bottle of a wine that had once knocked him out for three days. "Just different." Was he questioning her to be an ass..no, just simply the way he was. "What has you drinking so much?" He was for certain there had to be something that drove the woman nuts before him. After all, women didn't drink to get drunk for nothing..that's what men did--or so in his closed minded world. (d
Danae: Danae took up the tea Maahes had been nice enough to get for her and blew over the top of it before taking a sip. She began to set it down when her brows furrowed and she looked toward the door. She heard noise, noise that she didn't like. She set the tea down and looked to Ealora and Rosalind. "Excuse me... I need to go see about something." She slid off her stool and moved to the door, gathering her things on the way out. -d
Balian: He spat into the passing air while the horse kept at its hard run, the long pale cloak dancing back in the wake behind him while he snapped his head around to watch the cleaved wolf smack the cobblestone. The roar of rage from the others only had the demeanor of the calmed Lord Marshall even more steady, though all men had their breaking point. The caged lion within the knight had yet to be roused from its slumber at the fall of the first body. The second Wolf diving onto him would find itself dragged by the horse in motion. Balians arm snapped back to bring an elbow up under its chin while his left arm was drawn back only to be sent forward sending the black hilted sword spiraling forward to impale into the chest of the next wolf. The third Wolf's blade sung true and slammed into the broadside of his chest plate causing Balian's weight to shift in the saddle with an audible grunt. "You have to come through ME FIRST!" His head snapped backward attempting to head butt the wolf still being dragged behind him from the running horse[d]
Danae: As her fur and cloak were pulled around her, her eyes narrowed as she looked down one way and then the other as the moonlight began to caste shadows in a not so far distance. A rider surrounded by severel others on foot. A brow arched as she tried to make out what was going on and soon she had her answer. The tall woman moved as quickly as she could in the direction of the commotion. Already the woman's hands were moving to draw her weapons. First her bow and an arrow, quickly it was notched and sent flying to one of the offenders that was attacking the man on his horse, whom she did not yet know was Turas Lans own Lord Marshal. -d-
Peregrin: "But of course," A flirt at heart, gentleman by nature a sweet smile would pass to the man and his..treasure upon his arm. "I look forward to it, enjoy your night." Yeap one foot in the door would all he would need. Though...he wouldn't care to learn the name of the little Lily at his side either. However that would wait for another night as tonight his restless wild heart longed for adventure, and the taste of a woman's kiss would be the only thing to soothe it. (d
Rosalind: "Nothing wrong with her name at all," Rosalind assured, recovering her usual diplomatic smile. "It is quite beautiful." When Danae stood up to leave, Rosalind's eyes temporarily creased with concern, but she inclined her head and turned back to the husband and wife team at the bar. It would be rude to ignore Maahes's well-meaning query, but she was such a private person, it didn't seem correct to reveal what troubled her. "Life, is what has me drinking so much tonight. I have only had two glasses of red wine, however, and am far from inebriated. I intend to get there, sooner the better." *
Ealora: Celadon eyes lifted at Maahes saying wife. She caught Rosalind stare and grinned. She would of course gotten up to greet the woman but getting up and down was just to much of a trial right now. Rosalind. Had she heard the name
Maggie: The eyes of the Treasure would dismiss the scoundle as his own raked her.. there would be no unlocking that treasure chest save for the Lord Admiral.. who was (cheesy I know ) the Captain of her Heart.. (cue 80's music) Poor Perry had run across the immovable object.. not even a flicker of interest.. he must be loosing his touch...! A smile did curve lush ripe lips .. right as Jack turned his attention back to her.. " Jaques.. would you get the tender to make a pot of tea.. something soothing " she reached upward her hand on his lingering just enough to transmit the emotive sensation... I love you. (d)
Wolven Men: "We should not fight." One wolf spoke to the other, of course men behind images to provoke the knight before them. "We have the whore. That is all the bait we need." Whispers in the shadow from one to another, "No Malice wants all around the Moor's life to fall." Watching in the night as their fellow men fought around the White Lion a wicked grin escaped his lips. "We could take this one..Feed him to the beasts." "Going through you Knight will be fun." A voice hissed as he clung to the saddle for dear life having been close to knocked off. "You are strong, but you see....the more you fight the closer we get to your wife." A grin behind a mask as the man moved to capture Balian's neck in hopes to knock him from his horse and squeeze the air from his lungs, as now it was on. Too close to home, he had been..for what? A drink? Along side the horse the dogs snapped at the hooves goading it on forward to run faster, blocking ways it could turn..soon the city was left behind, and the woods would roll thickly; All the while one kept the knight busy while the the rest herded his horse in another direction. (d
Jack Flynn: Only the rather public constraints kept Perry from learning a harsh lesson. Jack was a jealous, if not passionate, lover.... if the setting were more private, it was likely that the Irishman would've decked the younge rogue. As it were, the Irishman smiled softly at the gesture his Treasure. Jack quietly arched an eyebrow, smiling softly, as he went toward the bar. A tea that was soothing and tender....? For the Irishman, it was going to be congac. (d)
Maahes: "Then you have picked the right night to drink, as you can have all you wish and I assure you--you will get home safe." He smiled lightly to Rosalind, but passed his eyes to his very pregnant, yet still pins his butt wife. Anyone who dare sought a thrillride should search out a pirate tell her you will take the sea from her, and watch as she goes wild. Angry sex was always the best. (d
Danae: The bow and arrows were tossed aside and now came the scimitar and the katar. Without hesitiating, she readied herself as she felt the need to slam into any of them shoulder first that was getting to close for comfort to the man. -d-
Maggie: The look of contained Jealousy in Jacks eyes was almost enough to make her laugh.. her shoulders did shake a bit as he turned to the bar for their drinks.. he knew well he had nothing to worry with.. he was the sun, the moon the stars and the very heavens in her eyes.. nothing would ever change that.. and surely not some bit of flotsom golden haired peter pan wanna be.. she preferred her Man steady and strong.. reliable.. and loving.. not.. a fly by night.. wake up in a strange bed.. on my what is that rash on my richard.. nere do well.. like Peregrin.. of course all that was supposition and conjecture on her part.. mearly judging the book by it's ragged and used cover(d)
Rosalind: "Then I am more than grateful." She took her drink, pulled it between both hands, and contemplated it only briefly before taking a large sip. She set the cup back down. There would be more than enough time to remedy her sobriety, and good drink was meant to be savored. *
Danae: By the time she was nearing them, they began to split up and run off. She turned, back tracked a little and whistled. As she retirved the bow and arrows once the Scimitar and Katar were sheathed, Majesty was making his way down the street toward her. Bow and quiver were tossed onto and over her shoulder. Hands reached out and without Majesty even stopping, Danae reached, grabbed and swung herself up into the saddle. -d-
Peregrin: Loosing his touch indeed! Ha! A snap of his head would narrow his eyes upon the woman...as if he could hear in her mind her thoughts. Give me one night, M'dear. He spoke with the look of pure mischief set deep in his blues. Loosing his touch..HA! (d
Balian: The warmth of spilled crimson all to familiar to the Pale cloaked Rider was felt under the cracked steel against his chest. His teeth ground together while he continued the fight with the wolf at his back. A closed leather bound fist was formed from his left before it was sent slamming into the jaw of the beast, over and over again. Fragments of the creature was captured in his sight line. Puzzled by the creatures origin or even existence he knew there was no placement to yield lest he became a meal or even worse, an innocent in his stead. The whistle of the Captains arrows caught his scope though he couldn't lay his attention on the shooter just yet. The final words of the wolf at his back had his eyes snap shut if only for a moment before the balance was broken and Balian twist in the saddle slapping his hand against the beasts throat before he threw both himself and the beast clear from the saddle, to smack the hard earth. The creature now had his own throat in hands squeezing back and causing Balian to gag and choke, his cheeks grew red and his jaw tightened to the point of causing his cheeks to twitch while he stared dead into the creatures eyes. His right hand freed just to slap down against his thigh ripping a knife free from its thigh sheath. "..Bring.. .. more ...friends .. in your.. next life." You can take the knight from the war but not the war from the Knight. The Knife was plunged straight into the wolfs eye socket and just as it was he forced himself back to his feet with a stumble before he would take a step back into his stance and draw the short sword from his hip spinning it forward before a line was drawn in the dirt and the sword now aimed at the next. [d]
Wolven Men: Two down, one to go as no mortal man could ever possess enough strength to follow as this one had, but in fact he was the only who walked upon two legs. No, they were not some creatures from a nightmare, but very real and very alive Humans who had been started from birth, much like a soldier in an arena, bred over and over again for their strength and speed. Yet it was a trick of the eye that would cause them to move faster then what they had as one would start running, and half way become switch places with another who was fresh and ready. They worked as team, like a pack of wolves on the hunt, wanting to feed their tortured minds with the blood of another. They did not want it to survive but the irony smell of the blood that ran from the knight's shoulder was enough to make his face twist in an ugly wicked grin. "So have I reached a tender spot on you, boy? Perhaps we shall talk about the loss of your father.. the death of your mother?" Of coursing having no truth to back any of this up, but how many knights were brave enough to wear such a pure white cloak if they had no reason to redeem themselves...or walked from the path of right mind. "Do you wish to return to that estate, where the honey blond waits patiently for you? In her bed...alone. Would be too bad to not be able to find her waiting..hmm?" Crazy? Yeap. The thunder of another horse would come with a rush, but still had ways to go. (d
Danae: She held firmly to the reigns at first, pushing Majesty to go faster. Her body leaning forward, head down some, eyes narrowing. Once she felt she was in close enough range by judging the distance and the light from the night sky that provided some aide in the visuals.. she knew she had to wait. Not yet, she still wasn;t quite close enough. She she lowered herself once more and pushed the black beast of hooves and muscle harder. "Faster Majesty!" She yelled out in her Greek tongue.-d-
Ealora: As Maahes eyes swung to her, she could all most tell what he was thinking. Or rather she did know what he was thinking for a grin spread across her lips as she cupped a hand against her belly, a slender brow rose as if questioning him, silently, and only he would know the question and answer though Peregrin fooling with Maggie and Jack did catch her attention and she waddled, yes waddled her way to the trio. "Jack..finally brought your lady out for a night an happens I be here..fate do you say?" Honeyed voice was smooth but was that a slip of paper she passed to Perry hand as she passed him. Yes, but not one of one people would think, even if they did see it. *
Balian: A mouthful of blood was spat to the cold hard soil while narrowed icy blues of the lion fell to the creature standing upon its hind legs. The wounds on the knight had taken there toll but none would no so much as Balian never broke his focuss, studying the beasts movements with each new one granted he learned something more of his advassary. "Lets talk of your four boyfriends.. Now patrons of the boatman." He would chuckle but not from humor, perhaps taunting the creature right back. "It takes a special man to threaten the life of an innocent women.. .. ..Why dont you come and threaten me beast.. and lets see where the blood falls." He took a step forward and then another now more guided by instinct then intelligence with the loss of blood. With that final step Balian spun to his left bringing the steel down toward the beast's skull while his weight shift enough to bring his free arm up to collect block should the beast made a counter. The Pale cloak battled to keep up with its master, coiling around his thigh when his footing was regained. [d]
Peregrin: A quick brush of her shoulder in his silent thank you as he quickly put away the paper and passed his way towards the bar, "Evening, Biggie. I'll have what she's having." A smile passed then to the very drunk Rosalind, and how quickly he thought to himself..this night just keeps getting better and better. Already from point A to point C this one was.(d
Maggie: She stood when Ealora moved toward them her head dipping as she curtseied inrespect.. " Lady Aziem Assad " her voice was soft and husky with a deep accenct.. this strange quadroon with the eyes the color of lapis luzil, part French, part Ottoman slave.. she was a bronzed jewel on the arm of the Admiral... ( who just got booted ) " I know your sister well.. I used to be in her employee.. She spoke very tenderly of you " a engaging smile was gifted to the Pirate Queen , though it was with some trepidation Maggie focused on her large pregnant belly.. then looked at Jack with a subtle are you kidding me you want 6?(d)
Maahes: "Like hell you will, boy get lost." He barked to the Pirate, but quickly Rose the Tender would pass him a dirty look, that was infact a paying customer, and with the war they would need all the money they could get. So with a heavy sigh he would fill another cup. However, Peregrin knew well that Big Brother to the entire Island would be be watching his rear. (d
Rosalind: She was not drunk. This was her third glass of wine in the last two hours. But that was not to say she was not intending to become drunk. There was still plenty of time for that to happen. She inclined her head politely to the gentleman, even offered a slight quirk at the corner of her mouth, before sipping at her drink again. She was naturally introspective, and when she had nothing to say, prone to silence. It was the best way to observe, was it not? After Maahes's barking, Rosalind chuckled again, mouthed her thanks to the barkeep, and resumed her mission. *
Moira: Moira stepped into the Briar Rose as inconspiciously as was possible! She had dressed in 'normal' clothes tonight. A regular run of the mill dress of a dark tan shade. She was off courtesan duty tonight, well every night for the week really, with one exception, glancing about she saw that male Shaden had been speaking with a few nights ago, interesting, but she said nothing, she was being inconspicious, remember? . [ D
Wolven Men: "I do not threat, threats are the promise of what would happen, child." His voice hissed as the dark in his eyes seemed to escape all color, void of emotion, and clearly lost of all sanity. "To promise is to act in truth, with reason. I need no reason. I want no reason. I enjoy simply watching your soul fade away from your body..cold. That's how I'll return you to her. All of those of this Isle. I carry a message." When Balian moved to attack a blade returned to life singing songs of hell and the demons that it spawned from. Fighting then with the justice of the other he would return the man's attack, launch his own in perfect match. The yin to his yang, black against white, day against night; a typical story of good vs. evil. Even the trees so bare of their fruits, lone awaited spring just at their grasp seemed to curl back in the night as a heavy cold wind blew through the valley. This was their fate, as if Balian held the warmth of the summer they so longed for in the palm of his hand. Please win..please..Long finger like branches scraped across one another. It would not be until the near miss of an arrow would the wolf pull back , his void black eyes wide with the expression of defeat. Two against one; he knew the odds, and like very twisted soul--life was a gamble. Was he ready to end his. "You have not seen the last of me!" Of us, his retreating shadow seemed to say as into the dark of the forest he would make his escape. Leaving Rider with Knight, Ranger with Marshal..fate? Perhaps. (d
Ealora: Celadon eyes passed from Perry with the silent shoulder touch to the lady and a smile touched her lips. Surely if the lady had known her before her acquaintance with Shaden, she would know how formality had once irked her to her last nerve but a certain General and impending motherhood had changed that so now a grin spread across her lips, one kind and all most tender. "I remember you my lady..or at least seeing you." Though the smile slid to a sadder one. Her sister...lord how her heart ached at the disappearance of her dearheart sister. "My sister is very much the kinder woman then I am. Her words I am sure gave more justice to me then need be but thank you. It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person. Jack here has as well...spoken very highly of you. I do believe you light the old mans heart into bursting flames."*
Jack Flynn: Fate, it seemed, had decreed that the Irishman should return to the table just then. The Irishman arched an eyebrow at what he was hearing.... and at the look Maggie was giving him. For a few moments, he was caught between what to say. Eventually, he focused on Ealora. There was a soft, teasing, smile as he said, "...... Old?" Truthfully, Jack was one of the Old Men of Skye. (d)
Maggie: I assure you Lady, that he is only as old as he feels.. " and he feels young and hard Left unspoke that was just bad manners.. truth but bad manners " How much longer until you welcome your babe into the world " from the looks of her belly it must be anytime now.. how could a woman strech that.. far.. she was like a washtub.. Cobalt eyes finally lifted from the round shape of Ealora..a smile covering up her.. thoughts.. as she took the cup of tea from Jack with a soft nod of thanks... " Will you join us.. " please don't let your water break on my dress...it's new.. " For a spell ?"(d)
Danae: Finally she reached a point where she could slow and then bring Majesty to an abrupt hault. Danae had already pulled out the bow and arrows again and sent a couple whistling through the night air with a heavy chill. Once she felt it was safe, she slide off with weapons in hand. Watching as the o ne retreated and quickly looking about for perhaps a surprise attack from others. She got to his side and asked. "Are you alright?" While icy hues of blue continued to survey the area around them. -d-
Peregrin: "Words are too overrated." He mused to himself following her lead and turning to face the room as she had. "We look upon people like looking into books, searching their covers for some sort of story. Yet, how is it that in a tavern full of people I find very few that spark my interest?" Was this an open ended question? Yeah. Perhaps, but in fact many would call him a fool, however little did they know behind those killer blue eyes and damnable handsome face in fact an old soul who longed for a true adventure. (d
Ealora: "I use it endearingly Jack.."She teased the man with a grin and a soft chuckle before her attention was brought back to Maggie and her question, which in turn, ultimately had her hand moving across her belly with a sigh. "Not long thank the Gods.."Another laugh and again over at Maggie's words. "Our child will be born at Red Wall, you've no need to fear my water breaking here.." Though be realistic, she had all most had the baby once out of stress. She was merely speaking of her hearts desire. Their child...born at their home, in their peace. A fresh new start. She hoped and dreamd for such a blessing. Though she accepted the offer, clasping the seat and inching herself slowly into it. Damnable decends and rising. "so when are you two to be married and have your own?" She teased with a grin once more.*
Balian: Balian had fought, killed and survived many lifetimes over his fill of men but this one just seemed to want to watch the world they knew end without a reason more then to watch it die, that was a scarey thought though not enough to cause the knight to stray his oath."..Talk is cheap furball.. Evolution hasnt been kind to you.. ..I get it. ...Fact is.." There blades slammed together with a near defeaning clang of steel on steel. "I'm still standing.. between you and them.. .. Mother.. Fu.." His growled out the word just as the wolf backed away and started for his retreat Balian thrust the sword blindly into the dirt and slammed his fist against his heart before throwing it forward to point. "FINISH YOUR AFFAIRS.. .. IM GOING TO HUNT YOU TO THE END OF THE EARTH AND LOOK DOWN ON YOUR BODY AND SMILE!" He shift his weight and slammed his fist into a tree causing the tree to shuddder before he would exhale a calming breath under fallen locks of wheat before his head would bow settling his icy blues upon Danae. "Captain.. ....Aye.. still some life in mea.. ..Thank you." [d]
Rosalind: "Overrated, no. Undervalued, perhaps. I choose them with care, for I would not wish to waste my time with those who cannot discern what I say from what I mean." Another sip of her drink, and a slow scan of the room, finishing on the pirate. "So few to spark your interest, hmm? And what interest is that?" She was curious, arching an elegant brow at the question, not in invitation, but clear desire to understand ... men. She had a feeling she would need plenty more alcohol to reach -that- goal. *
Danae: As Danae offered her hand to him should he need it to steady himself or whatever other reason. She continued to gaze about before finally looking to the man. It had dawned on her moments ago who he was now, having got a better look. "Just Danae... I'm no longer a Commander... " She offered. Story was, she had defied a direct order from the steward in Avaria. Growing tired of his power trips and wanting her to do his dirty work. Danae would have nothing of it and ended up an outlaw before coming to Skye. To some, she would always be a Commander, to others, she was just another woman with a few skills. "We should go find your horse. We can both ride mine to find him." She offered. -d-
Jack Flynn: It would be the Irishman's attained station, that of a Lord Admiral, that ensured the Irishman would would remain standing until Ealora had sat. The Irishman smiled softly at Ealora when she asked, about themselves. There was a glance over toward Ealora, a gentle shake of his head, before he said, "Mm'm. Tha' tis somethin' tha 'as come up an' been discussed....."(d)
Moira: Dropping into a chair at the closest empty table, oh this whole relaxation thing was nice, tempted to kick her feet up, sit back and observe people as she used to do. [d]
Balian: He took her hand, his other slapped back to grip the hilt of the sword ripping it from the earth before it was sheathed back against his hip. Bloodied and battered he used Danae's support for balance while his own eyes went drifting against the landscape before finding her once more. "Just Danae?....This will not suffice....How are you with a horse?" His brow lift curiously toward her while he fought for a breath. It sounded as though he was recruiting and he made no attempt in hiding the fact this was now the second time her help in combat may have saved his life. "My horse.. .. never strays to far from me.." He nodded in the direction of the piebald stallion now trotting up through the thick of the woods toward them. "..Thank you.." [d]
Danae: She let him hold fast to her hand for however long it was needed and nodded when he saw fit to release. At his questioning she nodded once more as she spoke to give her reply. "Yes, Danae... and with a horse? I'm good, just better with the ground and trees." She said with a smirk. "I ride well enough to survive and do whats needed of me." She let her eyes drift to the stalliion of the Lord Marshal. She chuckled and looked back to the large man. " So I see. Smart steeds these two are." She added as she looked to her own black stallion. He was a dark glossy Friesian steed, strong, fast, and loyal. -d-
Maggie: Maggie sipped her tea as Jack danced about Ealora's question.. the fact was they were waiting on the approval of the Duke and Duchess.. something they needed to get married.. and with times of war and other matters of state at hand such a thing as their Marriage had been shuffled to the back of the pile.. it was with some small bit of pain in her soul that this was true.. but she fought hard not to let it show upon her face... " I'm sure when the time is right we will have the bans cried and be married.." she murmered.. soflty suddenly intent on her tea(d)
Peregrin: "A question with a question, I like your style." Turning back to the bar he would take lean as if closing the world off around him. He sat with a comfortable position upon the woman, his face turned to her but his body showing no intimate interest just of yet. A boyish face, that held the same wonder would flash with a world of secrets in only one smile. A daring grin, that would beckon a child from it's window, much like the boy who never grew up, only to watch them fall to their death so he may drag them to Neverland, and live happily ever after. Sick huh? Peregrin was much the same, flying from window to window wanting stories to be told of the little pirate that could, who started with so little, but now was captain of a ship..with riches galore. "Do you always get tired of the questions, M'lady? Or does a maiden like you always simply want a straight answer." (d
Balian: "Aries has been my ally through many dangers." His hands came to collect the stallion just as it muzzled into his chest. He leaned in laying his brow against the horses if only for a moment before he lift his head to peer back at Danae with a faint smile while his eyes moved to her own horse before he gave a nod of approval. "Aye, a fine animal your companion is.." He released the piebald only to bring his hand down to his shoulder, digging inside the break of his armor to feel at the wound. "What say you if I were to extend my invitation to you to become a Rider of Turas Lan heavy calvarly?" [d]
